Emmy Award Fashion: The REAL Winners

Ok, ok, so Grey's Anatomy didn't win any Emmy Awards last night. We'll get over that shortly.

Helping us to do so would be how striking Katherine Heigl looked in her dress. She's certainly in the running for Best Dressed from the ceremony. Here she is, along with a pair of other hotties that looked dashing walking across the red carpet:

Meanwhile, Heather Locklear was on hand to honor Aaron Spelling. If the former Melrose Place star was still smarting from the deception of ex-best friend, Denise Richards, she didn't show it here:

Lovely Locklear

Finally, Jeremy Piven is allowed to be as silly as he wants now. The actor won the Emmy many believed he should have taken home a year ago for his role in Entourage:

Little Miss Sunshine to Study Grey's Anatomy

Grey's Anatomy Guest StarTV critics love Grey's Anatomy. So do young, independent movie stars, apparently. Need evidence of such?

The 10-year-old star of the critically-acclaimed comedy Little Miss Sunshine will guest star in an episode of Grey's Anatomy this season.

Abigail Breslin will appear in the episode entitled "Sometimes a Fantasy," which hasn't been given an airdate yet. The young actress got her start in Signs, directed by M. Night Shyamalan.

Who else was in that movie? You guessed it, Mel Gibson. Let's hope innocent, little Abigail doesn't drive drunk any time soon.

Conan O'Brien Disses ABC, Says Network Isn't Standing Up For Grey's Anatomy

Conan Holds CourtUh-oh. The Emmy Award gloves are coming off!

Host Conan O'Brien was recently quoted as chiding ABC for not supporting its own, heavily nominated show. See, Grey's Anatomy is up for 11 awards and the late night talk show host seems to think its network should, therefore, encourage viewers to watch the Emmy broadcast. Even though it's on NBC.

Instead, the folks at the American Broadcasting Corporation are showing Pirates of the Caribbean in a counter-programming move.

"It just isn't done," O'Brien said of the aggressive scheduling. "ABC is pretty much saying, 'No one watch the Emmys! Screw you, Grey's Anatomy!'"

Scheduling a movie to garner ratings for your network isn't done, Conan? The Gossip doesn't see a reason why ABC would actually want viewers to tune in to the Emmys - they just hope Grey's Anatomy rakes in the awards and then the channel can market the heck out of that fact.

Plus, the Emmys did completely snub Desperate Housewives and Lost, so ABC has legitimate reasons for taking aim at the show's ratings.

How Does Pompeo Stay So Thin?

Ellen PompeoEver wonder how Ellen Pompeo maintains her exquisite... well, rail-thin figure? The Defamer and its operatives say they've got her secret figured out -- the ever-popular Big Fat Plate of Nothing Diet.

Here's the blow-by-blow account of a trip to a Los Angeles diner on Friday night by the leading lady of Grey's Anatomy, according to the site:

9:15 PM: Sitting at Lucky Devils on Hollywood and Cherokee. Ellen Pompeo just walked in. She looks pretty hot. I will tell you what she orders as it happens.

9:27 PM: So far just a milkshake that she's sharing with her boyfriend. And by sharing, I mean letting him have it all.

9:46 PM: It's the Hollywood actress moment I was waiting for. The three people with Pompeo at her table have all ordered cheeseburgers. Pompeo has ordered a big fat plate of nothing. That's right, there are three plates at the table, none of which are in front of Ellen. She's just sitting there watching her friends eat. And that's how you get cast on TV's number one show, boys and girls.

Are we jumping to conclusions? Is it unfair to suggest that Ellen has an eating disorder simply because of this one incident? Yes and yes. But come on, it's still pretty amusing. We're just wondering if boyfriend Chris Ivery was there.

TV Critics Reward Lost, Grey's Anatomy, Steve Carell

Forget waiting around for the Emmy Awards. Television critics gathered over the weekend and dished out praise for a slew of shows and actors.

Haha, More Awards!

The most rewarded show at the 22nd annucal Television critics Association Awards was NBC's The Office. It earned a trophy for top comedy series, while Steve Carell was rightfully honoroed as leading comedic performer. He's quite funny.

The Gossip also approved of the program of the year winner, Grey's Anatomy. We'd like Meredith to whine less and Izzie to get naked more, but we're still glued to the screen every week.

Somehow, the Emmys snubbed Lost - but these critics found a way to award TV's most intriguing, well-written hour. It won its second consecutive award for best drama, while Hugh Laurie was the best dramatic actor for his role in House.

While not an official category this year, we'd imagine Oprah Winfrey would've won the award for least gay celebrity. Maybe next year!

Patrick Dempsey & His Cute McDaughter

Patrick Dempsey, a.k.a. Dr. Derek "McDreamy" Shepherd on Grey's Anatomy, is filming the movie Enchanted this summer while the hit ABC series is on break. Here, he gets a visit from his adorable four-year old daughter, Tallulah. What a cutie!

Ellen Pompeo, Boyfriend Fight in Monte Carlo

A Grey Day For StarSources report that Grey's Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo did not appear in any interviews with her fellow cast members during a visit to the Monte Carlo Television Festival. Pompeo's representative, Jennifer Allen, said it was at the request of the broadcasters that she be interviewed separately, but tabloids speculate that Ellen may have what is known as Diva-itis, if you know what we're saying. We're saying she's a diva!

The actress also had a fight with boyfriend, Chris Ivery, at one point getting out of a car and running down the street, shouting to the driver that Ivery is "not her husband" when told by the driver to get back in the car with her husband.

We're guessing that previous reports of Pompeo's reluctance to marry the ex-felon and current music producer may have some weight to them.

A Real-Life Grey's Anatomy Romance?

Could the steamy world of Grey's Anatomy have spawned a real life romance?

Rumor has it that Jeffrey Dean Morgan, the guest star whose dark, handsome character, Denny Duquette, died tragically after endearing himself to fans for a good part of the second season, has apparently linked up with Kate Walsh, who plays Dr. Addison Shepherd.

On Saturday, says a source, the two had their first real date, at Arnie Morton's in Studio City. There were definitely some fireworks, although perhaps not the best. Many Grey's fans stopped by their table, and one woman insisted on buying them a bottle of wine.

After Jeffrey and Kate politely declined, the woman refused to take no for an answer, promoting a manager had to intervene, and the outraged woman to launch into a tirade. The loud, embarrassing scene ended only after the woman stormed out, threatening a lawsuit.

Despite the chaos, Jeffrey and Kate reportedly were unfazed, leaving the restaurant smiling and arm in arm.

It's Amazing: Katherine Heigl and Josh Kelley Engaged

Baby, you're amazing.

That must be Josh Kelley's message to Grey's Anatomy star Katherine Heigl. Reps for both stars revealed to People that the beautiful couple is, inKatherine and Heigldeed, engaged.

The couple met last year when Heigl, 27, appeared in a video for Kelley's song "Only You."

"At the end of the shoot, I said, 'You're gonna go eat dinner with us, and you can't say no,' " Kelly recounted. "So we ate, drank and just started hanging out after that."

The has pair made music together ever since .... sometimes literally. Kelley wrote a tune, "Katie's Song," for Heigl.

"There is really nothing more romantic than that," Heigl told People in December. "It was one of the most thrilling and romantic things that I've ever experienced, and it makes me really like him bad."

Awww. We wish this pairing a future competely opposite from that of Britney and K-Fed.

Grey's Anatomy Writer Receives Promotion

Cast of Grey'sAs one of television's most popular, well-acted shows, Grey's Anatomy is preparing to receive a handful of Emmy Awards. While looking to buy a dress for the occasion, writer/producer Krista Vernoff has something else to celebrate, as well.

The respected scribe has inked a new two-year deal with Touchstone Television. Under the seven-figure pact, Vernoff has been promoted to executive producer on the smash ABC/Touchstone TV dramady.

Vernoff will work with Grey's creator/executive producer Shonda Rhimes, while also developing new projects. This deal replaces Vernoff's existing one with the studio.

"Krista has really stepped up on Grey's Anatomy and earned a spot as part of the leadership team," Touchstone TV executive vp Julia Franz said. "We've also had a great experience with her in development and look forward to working with her again on her next creation."
