Who Will Win Dancing with the Stars?

Tom DeLay is embracing the fact that he's been cast on Dancing with the Stars. Regarding his critics, the disgraced politician says:

“They have tried for the last 15 years to demonize me and this has got to be driving them crazy. Seeing some of the comments from the Democrats and the liberals just tickles me."

Damn right. You showed them, Hammer! Way to get yourself cast on a series that will take any D-lister desperate to remain in the news!

Of course, if DeLay truly wants to get back at those that have ridiculed him for supposed campaign finance violations, he can actually win Dancing with the Stars. All online gambling sites rank the former Congressman as a distant underdog.

In fact, we don't even list him among the poll possibilities below. We've taken the contestants deemed most likely to win this season's crystal ball - all pictured above - and are asking readers a simple question:

Dancing with the Stars Update: La Toya Jackson Out, Beth Ostrosky In?

Phew.

La Toya Jackson has come to her senses.

Following rumors that the entertainer might exploit her brother's death and go Dancing with the Stars, La Toya told Access Hollywood that this wouldn't be the case.

“I’ve been approached to do‘Dancing With the Stars. The fact of the matter is, I won’t be doing it, simply because of the circumstances that (are) going on at the moment.”

While Jackson is out, another interesting competitor might be in.

Beth Ostrosky Pic

On his radio show this morning, Howard Stern said wife Beth Ostrosky was heading to Los Angeles to take part in a reality show. That's all the information we have at the moment, but it would make sense.

The final Dancing with the Stars roster wlll be revealed on Monday. Who do you wanna see on it?

Report: MTV Won't Let Audrina Patridge Go Dancing with the Stars

The Hills star Audrina Patridge agreed to go on the new season of Dancing With the Stars, according to reports, only to have MTV shoot down her dreams.

"They won't let Audrina do it," a source dished to E! Online.

"They told her it would be impossible because of scheduling."

However, The Hills doesn't usually shoot on Mondays and Tuesdays, the two days Audrina would be at DWTS for the performance and elimination shows.

"Audrina Patridge wants to do it. Everyone around her wants her to do it," the source said. "But MTV, for some reason, won't make it happen."

An Audrina Image

Dashed are Audrina Patridge's dreams of going Dancing with the Stars.

"Why wouldn't they want someone from The Hills on such a huge show? Dancing With the Stars would give MTV all this exposure, but they won't budge."

It would also let Audrina be herself instead of reading cue cards all the time and pretending to care about staged fights with Justin-Bobby. Bummer.

Audrina is currently developing her own reality show with Mark Burnett.

Other possible DWTS contenders in Season 9 are said to be Vera Wang, Dean McDermott, Lou Ferrigno and, per a report yesterday, La Toya Jackson.

Sounds like a crew that needs Audrina to spice things up. Weak.

Will La Toya Jackson Go Dancing with the Stars?

This seems extremely unfair and inarguably exploitive.

In the wake of her brother's tragic death, La Toya Jackson is reportedly being considered for a spot on Dancing with the Stars.

"[She is] in serious discussions to join the show," a source told Us Weekly, adding that an offer is on the table and the (dancing) ball is in La Toya's court.

We're sorry your brother died, La Toya. But don't milk the public's sympathy by competing on Dancing with the Stars.

Come on now, ABC. This reeks of a desperate ratings ploy, as there's no way the show would consider Michael's sister if he hadn't passed away last month.

Won't fans be obligated to keep voting La Toya through? Won't this be grossly unfair to the other hard-working contestants on the series?

No, we don't care too much about the feelings of Lou Ferrigno. But we're all about doing what's right dammit! Let's see if Dancing with the Stars feels the same way.

Anna Demidova: Going Dancing with the Stars

A few changes are in store for the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars.

For starters, the show will welcome a new professional this fall. Say hello to Anna Demidova.

This Russian beauty has captured numerous titles, including International Grand Ball 10 Dance Champion; USA Dance National Standard Champion; and two-time U.S. Youth International Standard Champion. She's also a part-time model.

Meanwhile, executive producer Conrad Green confirmed rumors to Entertainment Tonight that the competition would expand to 16 celebrities this season. It will be the largest cast ever. to say about the upcoming competition.

As for talk that Donny Osmond or Lou Ferrigno have already signed up for Dancing with the Stars, Green simply says:

"I love the fact that people want to be on the show. If people get in the press and say, 'I am on the show,' even if they are not, what can you do? I think our celebrity show is the one that most people want to be on because they realize it isn't degrading or demeaning in any way. You learn a new skill, and it is a wholesome family show."

The new cast will officlally be announced on August 17.

Will Paula Abdul Go Dancing with the Stars?

Crazy sells.

In the wake of Paula Abdul's surprising departure from American Idol, numerous shows are lining up to add the unbalanced singer to their program.

When asked about Abdul's availability, ABC Entertainment President Stephen McPherson told reporters last week she'd be a welcome addition to Dancing With the Stars.

"I was shocked by that decision," he said. "We would love to have her on Dancing, as a contestant, participant or judge. I think she's a huge talent. I think there's a lot made of her in terms of who she is... There's a sensitivity and an emotion to her that balances out Idol, and we'd love to have a piece of that."

McPherson added that Abdul has not yet inked a deal with any series.

"We have no formal plans. I think all possibilities are open. Really, it will depend on where her head is at."

Good luck determing that, Stephen. Millions have tried to do so for years.

What do you think should be Paula Abdul's next career move?

Dancing with the Stars Cast Update: Lou Ferrigno Confirmed, Dean McDermott Considered

The Dancing with the Stars cast is coming together.

And it's very depressing.

Last month, reports indicated that Ashley Hamilton had signed on for the new season. Who, you might ask? Exactly.

Now, Life & Style confirms that former Incredible Hulk star Lou Ferrigno will bring his steroid-laden body to the dance floor. The actor, who was actually training Michael Jackson for his comeback tour before the music icon died, told the tabloid:

"I had a good meeting with the producers for Dancing With the Stars, it was really positive, and they loved the idea of having me on the show. I've never done that type of dancing before, so I know that I'll have to train hard. I'm a glutton for punishment, so I'll give it my best shot."

Meanwhile, E! News reports that Dean McDermott is negotiating to compete on the show. He's known solely for marrying Tori Spelling and exploiting their children on reality TV.

"He wants to do it," a source said. "He'd be really good at it, too."

Oh, goody. We can barely contain our excitement.

Set to Compete on Dancing with the Stars: Ashley Hamilton?!?

So much for Dancing with the Stars.

According to a report in TV Guide Magazine, the ABC series has officially stopped trying to land anyone above the Z-list. Unsuccessful actor Ashley Hamilton is supposedly joining the cast this fall.

Hamilton appeared briefly in the failed soap opera Sunset Beach, but was actually fired a month into production. He's also starred in various small films, such as Beethoven's 2nd.

Ashley is best-known for his personal life: he's the son of well-tanned actor George Hamilton and was married to Shannen Doherty and Angie Everhart.

We know Dancing with the Stars is fond of former Playboy cover girls, but at least they bring something (i.e. nudity) to the table.

But if Ashley Hamilton wasn't good enough for Shannen Doherty, he isn't good enough for primetime television.

Len Goodman: Diagnosed with Cancer

As the head judge on Dancing with the Stars, Len Goodman is tasked with handing out 10s to the best performances each week.

Following Goodman's recent admission that he's battling prostate cancer, though, allow us to reverse roles and deliver a top score to this brave dancing expert.

The 65-year old was diagnosed in March, but he told Britain's The Daily Mail that the disease was found early and, following surgery, he feels "right as rain."

Len Goodman Pic

Instead of removing the cancerous tumor immediately, Goodman actually continued his role on Dancing with the Stars for two months, critiquing Melissa Rycroft, Gilles Marini and others without showing any signs of the discomfort he was experiencing.

"I could have said 'sorry' and not done the show, but the doctors felt I wasn't riddled with it and it wasn't so far advanced that it was a life-or-death scenario," Goodman told th newspaper. "It takes a few weeks to get everything set up for the operation anyway, so I went ahead and did the show. I had the surgery done as soon as I got back from America."

Feeling fine, Goodman points to the major downside of his cancer scare.

"You can't play golf, which is the biggest blow at the moment."
