  Actually, PETA not only refused to help the Vick dogs, but said they should be killed. To those who think HSUS is an animal welfare org., they are not. Since Wayne Pacelle joined them, they have gradually become like PETA with the same thinly veiled vegan agenda. Approximately .5% of their considerable revenue goes to the welfare of animals. Most of the money goes to lawsuits, raising more money, and ballot initiatives. This information can be found in their annual report to the IRS in continuing support of their nonprofit status. They are no longer the venerable org. they used to be. As for PETA, again check out their annual report to the State of Virginia to maintain their nonprofit status. They have killed approx. 90% of the animals they "saved" since 1998. Check it out. These orgs are duplicitous in their approach and they know most people won't check out the facts for themselves. As a member of a dog rescue group myself, I have paid close attention to the nefarious deeds of PETA, HSUS and their ilk. Also, check out CCF.com. They have daily articles about so-called animal "rights" groups.
