  The bob makes her neck look shorter were has the long hair softens her face and is in proportion. The bob also ages her I suppose its fashion over asthetics. Katie Holmes who has gone from babe to old married women with her bob although she's not a comparison to hayden even with a buz cut I used to find her attractive but I think I have had a change of heart.
