• Keith Olbermann Continues to Slam Bill Simmons (3/11/2010)

  Interesting positions taken by the KO sycophants on this site. "It is obvious that you have a grievance with Olbermann". Really? To me, it sounds like the writer has a problem with ad hominem attacks. Meanwhile, the unexplained grievance which KO apparently feels toward Bill Simmons goes unmentioned by you. Strange ... I also love the parts where the commented writes that KO is "clearly correct" in his criticism, and that BS "was wrong". And then the commenter uses this to justify Olbermann's treatment of Simmons. First off, just because you personally decide to side with one competing opinion over another, that does not elevate that opinion to an objective fact. Second, even if a definite right and wrong can be discerned, this should not excuse someone taking this as an opportunity to launch personal attacks. Just because my argument with someone may be correct, that should not give me license to slander that person for no reason. There should still be a concept of professional decorum.

  There's also a third possibility: that Keith is a self-important asshat who sees himself as the keeper of Edward R Murrow's legacy. I don't quite see what Mr Olbermann is mad at here - I guess he really really doesn't like the Ali-Woods comparison. Fair enough, but it's not like KO didn't rise to national prominence for his pithy comments while ketchup was beating mustard during the 7th inning stretch.
