I think before a celebrity (if you could call Clay that) voices a public opinion, he should make it an informed one. Instead, he listened to only one song of Adam's and none from Kris. How could he judge who should have won based on that?
Also, Adam's performance of Mad World got him a standing ovation from Simon and raves that hit the airwaves. I would think that a reasonable person would want to see him sing that, before making any statements.
I think Kris is a great guy and has a nice voice but anyone who is totally objective, would see that comparing Kris's voice to Adam's magnificant one (not to mention Adam's obvious outstanding showmanship) would tell there is no comparison whatsoever.
I am not a heavy rocker fan. I could however spot talent when I hear it and in fact, I had some friends of mine listen to both singers. They aren't into American Idol so they didn't know Kris or Adam. I wanted objective opinions to see if I lost my objectivity since Adam's talent totally won me over. Every single one of them overwhelmingly picked Adam over Kris. I played several taped episodes of the show for each so they could hear several songs sung by each of them (unlike Clay). Bottom line is: Adam's voice and his style, blows everyone (who's objective) away. That's why even Kris said Adam deserved to win, after he found out he won. Did that ever happen before? I am sure it didn't. Kris was honest enough to know that Adam was the more deserving one.
I have a feeling that Clay wrote what he did to get noticed. He knew Adam was extremely popular and that anything said about him, would get noticed. He wanted to get some attention for himself. I hope that he did, in a bad way. I hope they see that Clay is a guy badmouthing someone else, to get some media attention. I am not impressed by him, in the least.
Adam has a great career ahead of him, no doubt about that. I would not go to a Kris Allan concert, even if the tickets were free. I am not insulting Kris. Again, I like his voice and especially how he performed the song Heartless. He just doesn't excite me enough to go to a show. Adam on the other hand, I would love to see in concert and should he come to Toronto, I am going to see him in person.
