Who do prefer as a Today Show anchor?

There are certain television moments we all remember... for instance The day MASH series went off the air. I can't help but also remember now the tearful goodbye from Ann Curry as she left what was one of the few television programs I consistently watched over the years. I wish it hadn't happened. I'm not sure who is responsible but it was like watching a train wreck and an old trusted journalist was stuck in the wreckage. Now the Today Show feels like broken pieces. It doesn't seem like a cohesive unit. Even the rundown is awful.

I don't know who did what, but I do know I stopped watching after 20 plus years, because of the way the treated Ann Curry. Really, how could they!!!

Matt Lauer is so liberal in his bias that he alienates a large portion of the show's potential audience. He also comes off in a mean-spirited way with overtones of condescension that prevents me from watching The Today Show. Lester Holt seems to have a humanity and warmth about him that is very appealing. People want to start their day in a positive way, not in a negative way. I think John Coffey said it best - 'I'm tired of people bein' ugly to each other. I'm tired of all the pain I feel and hear in the world today. They's too much of it."

It's good to see I'm not alone. I also switched to GMA after Ann C. was uncerimoniously replaced. As a child my parents watched the Today Show and I continued to watch as an adult. However, I'm now completely tired of the way female anchors are treated on the Today Show. Ann has shown herself to be a woman of substance, someone who's opinion I respected, and to see her ousted because she didn't giggle at Matt's jokes stinks. The Today Show needs to realize this is 2012 not the 1950s - women are not pretty accessories to be switched out on a whim. The Today Show should have addressed their ratings problems more thoughtfully.

Get rid of Matt. I am another that will not watch as long as he is there. TODAY has a history of treating their female co host poorly and for that reason I choose GMA. Its a terrific show and noone there is a premadonna like good old Matt
