What do you think of Chris Rock's White People's Day Tweet?
lazy is lazy no matter what race. I don't like the fact certain races get promotions or jobs because of there race. Should be who's qualified. I dont like that standards are lowered for certain races, but hey thats just equality right? Maybe ya should vote republican, cause Democrats are the ones who try to win votes by increasing welfare and lowering standards for "minorities". Open your eyes and SEE!!! That is whats keeping ya down. Plus anger for something you never lived through.
WE NEED TO FLOOD THE WEBSITE OF THE NORTHWEST COMPANY LETTING THEM KNOW THAT THEIR BEHAVIOR IS UNACCEPTABLE AND NEEDS TO STOP - TODAY. I just visited their site and it's "lily white"...not today, that needs to stop
The post about the Northwest Company treating minorities like shit is very spot on....My husband who is Asian worked for them for a number of years and he saw hell every freaking day....Their CEO Edward Kennedy is an absolute snob, arrogant ass and very racist. Only Canadians (White ones) were allowed to fly through the ranks - native ppl are treated badly that's why none of them can see the light of day in any executive or senior managerial post...JUST CHECK OUT THEIR WEBSITE...Last year alone Kennedy made $5.1M ($400k/mth)in pay, the same year where minorities were told they could get only 1.7% raise. The Canadian and US govt is still allowing this company to flourish in its white supremicy world and in all that CHRIS ROCK IS WRONG??? Go fck you all selves
Fredrick Douglas had less kind things to say about July 4th than Rock. Just google "What to the Slave is the 4th of July". that will put things in perspective. Chris Rock statement is about right where we are at. Maybe in a 100 years blacks will be able to ceebrate free of encumbrances.
This is just absolutely crazy that ppl don't see where Chris is coming from. I work for Canadian Company (The Northwest Company)- where 99% of their executive branch is White and they treat native ppl, blacks and other minorities like absolute shit and I mean absolute shit. Minorities are considered second class - they are paid less for doing the same jobs, they are harassed, picked upon and bullied.....Just imagine a friend of mine who "speaks kinda white" applied for a job, all was going well however, when he was asked to send a photo of his ID and they realised that he was black - it was bye for him....America (and Canada) is the most racist place on earth - they absoultely HATE black ppl - just ask a guy called Obama
you guys need to read more.. why are african americans still suffering, why do they still have the mindsight like they do now???read the willie lynch letter and you'll understand why.. instead of acting like naive ignorant people.. i know why people are still suffering, some people treat us like shit especially in the media and society, and i know what im talking about.. and i hate when some americans try to shy away from this discussion and act like america is fine and dandy, and black people should forget what happened to them 500 years ago, and its still continuing today.. there's soo much racism towards black people in the states and people hate to admit it ... blacks are still suffering just differently read the willie lynch letter and your naive minds will understand :)
This nation was not "created with slavery" nor is Chris Rock being honest.....he obviously doesn't know much more about history than does Marta. Did you happen to hear of a little thing called the American Revolutionary War? Blacks fought on both sides--some for the British and some for the Loyalists, and it was a combination of free blacks as well as enslaved. Not every black person in America was a slave..there actually DID exist some free men, descendents of endentured servants (helloooo....quite a few whites suffered that form of slavery, but does anyone mention that on a regular basis? nooooooo), and immigrants. So please...Chris Rock can STFU with the white racists jokes. Dat's right....I said it...
It was an unnecessary comment and tacky. I'm completely fed up with constant harping about slavery...there's not a damn person alive today who experienced slavery nor was slavery the sole province of America. Who sold them into slavery in the first place? OTHER BLACKS! When slaves finally received their freedom they were given an opportunity to go back to the motherland....more specifically to Monrovia. A few did, but the majory did not. Know what's funny about those that moved to Monrovia? They naturally evolved into a somewhat racist society where lighter skinned blacks looked down on darker blacks. Where is it written that racist comments made by someone other than white aren't considered racist? I'm married to a non-white, and he is just as fed-up with the double standard as am I.
Joe said it best. As part African American I am so tired of hearing blacks blaming everyone else for their problems. Take some responsibility for your own actions and drop the entitlement attitude. Blacks are remaining oppressed by their own thoughts and wanting the world to feel sorry for them. Get over it, enough is enough.
To read some of the horrible comments made regarding Chris Rocks tweet just reenforces the point he was trying to make. I do not know of any white people of my generation who actually owned slaves but slavery existed and now and will always be a blackeye in American history. You can not make up for it or sweep it away with comments like 'get over it'. The terriorism that was heaped upon black americans centuries after the Emancipation Proclation was put into effect was deplorable and truly unimaginable. Even though we have now elected a black president have things changed that much. The fairytale that one day color will not matter is just that a fairytale. Color does matter, racism still exists but maybe we can just learn to except each individual as just that an individual and form opioinons and relationships based upon that...
