Adnan Ghalib hasn't been heard from much in recent months. Kathy Griffin hasn't been heard from much... ever, really. So what are they doing together here?

The odd couple went shopping, held hands and made damn sure the celebrity news peeps noticed. Hmm. Either this is an act for Pop Fiction or some crap like that, or Adnan is trying to make Britney Spears jealous and failing miserably.

The Hills gossip of the day comes courtesy of Radar magazine: Lauren Conrad and her BFF / co-worker Whitney Port are apparently moving in together!

Whitney and Lauren, of course, are total besties 4-ever, because they used to work at Teen Vogue and then traveled to Paris (as we saw on The Hills) and now they do fashion-y stuff at People's Revolution for PR guru Kelly Cutrone together.

So why is this a big deal? A couple of points:

• We love LC to pieces, but she can be a little much as a roommate sometimes. It's just a fact, some people shouldn't live together no matter how close they are. Frenemy Heidi Montag and even current pal Audrina Patridge have had some issues as roommates. Will the fair Whitney fare any better?

• While the two are supposedly great friends, some believe Whitney Port has long been Lauren Conrad's chief underminer, subtly making Lauren feel like she's not really good enough. Whether Whitney's supposed undermining of LC will intensify if the two share living arrangements remains to be seen.

• Whitney Port and Lauren Conrad both launched their own fashion labels. Lauren's has been lauded as a success, but poor Whitney is struggling to get stores to stock her label. Awkward! Will the two begrudgingly wear each others' clothes? Will their divergent successes lead to roommate frisson?

To many, this might be akin to asking which is their favorite child.

Nevertheless, it's an issue that must be broached, especially as talk of High School Musical 4 heats up: Who is your favorite character from the franchise?

That was the general reaction of all American Idol viewers last night, when it was announced that Michael Johns had somehow been eliminated.

As he sang his farewell song, the other finalists stood and clapped for their fallen Idol. Johns then moved from the stage to the platform behind the judges to be closer to the audience.

Earlier in the night, Simon Cowell had spoken for us all when he said: "I'm going to miss you. You're a very good singer and a very, very nice guy."

Rapper Vanilla Ice was arrested Thursday night on a charge of domestic battery after his wife called deputies to say her husband was hitting and kicking her.

Deputies arrived at the Wellington, Fla., home around 7:15 p.m. to find Ice (real name Robert Van Winkle) on his motorcycle, two blocks from their home.

Back at the house, Laura Van Winkle appeared uninjured and said she did not want to deal with media attention but wants a divorce. She said her husband, 40, had not hit or kicked her during the melee, but had pushed her.

"He started yelling at me for going out to buy a bedroom set. In front of my daughter," she said, according to a report obtained by the Palm Beach Post

Vanilla Ice said he and his wife had been arguing since the previous day.

The flash-in-the-pan rap star of the early '90s said his wife has bipolar disorder (like Britney Spears!) and takes meds but still has irrational and argumentative episodes and had thrown a picture frame from a rear balcony to the ground.

Vanilla Ice (shown here in the latest addition to our celebrity mug shots gallery), says he did not push his wife, and left on his motorcycle so they could cool down.

It's not the first time Vanilla Ice has been arrested in South Florida. In 2004, he was booked into the Broward County Jail on a domestic battery charge.

Driving with an expired license, driving 74 mph in a 45 mph zone and having illegally tinted car windows all culminated in another warrant for his arrest.

Vanilla was also was hit with $220 in fines back in 2004 when his pet wallaroo and goat escaped in Port St. Lucie and were picked up by animal control.

Miley Cyrus and Mandy Jiroux have released another installment of The Miley and Mandy Show.

This time, the BFF welcomed a pair of guest stars: Nickelodeon star brothers, Chris Massey (Zoey 101) and his younger brother Kyle (That's So Raven).

The quartertet acted kooky and danced to Soulja Boy's smash hit "Crank That." Check it out:

The Miss USA Pageant airs tonight. And we know one person who won't be watching it for reasons other than Heather Mills being a judge.

TMZ reports that Christina Silva - the dethroned Miss California - has filed a lawsuit against the pageant, seeking $500,000 in damages for "public humiliation, mental anguish and distress, lost opportunities, lost prizes and lost monies."

For those who have somehow forgotten: Silva was crowned Miss California on November 25, 2007. But three days later, officials blamed human error for a mistake and actually placed the crown on the head of Raquel Beezley instead.

Silva, who is of Ecuadoran and Mexican descent, claims the pageant director never liked her and was looking for an "'all-American girl' to win, and not looking to crown another person of color."

Beezley, meanwhile, will be competing in Miss USA tonight. She'll be hoping to follow in the evening gown of last year's winner, Rachel Smith.

We didn't see this coming.

In one of the most shocking eliminations in the show's history, Michael Johns was sent home on American Idol tonight. He was joined in the bottom three by Syesha Mercado and Carly Smithson.

Everyone assumed Syesha was headed home, but when Ryan Seacrest closed the show by saying she and Carly were safe, shocked silence filled the arena.
