The Hills star, Lauren Conrad, debuted her hip new fashion line - The Lauren Conrad Collection - last night at Los Angeles Fashion Week. LC's Fall 2008 line fashion show was held at Smashbox Studios Tuesday in Culver City, Calif.

The night was a huge success for Lauren Conrad, 22, who's been going to school for fashion design and marketing. But don't expect to see the event on The Hills.

"I kinda like that it's separate. It's not something that I really want to be part of a reality television show. It's a career that I want beyond my 15 minutes of fame," Lauren Conrad told reporters at the show last night.

LC had a great supporting section as Whitney Port, Audrina Patridge, Lauren "Lo" Bosworth, and Brody Jenner were all on hand to cheer her on. Here are a few pics, one of LC and Lo, the other of Whitney and Audrina ...

If you thought Nicole Richie mulling an offer to appear on Broadway was a sign of the apocalypse (or at least Broadway abandoning all standards), get this:

Kevin Federline may soon make his debut.

A source says Britney Spears' ex-husband may be heading to New York City in September to make his Broadway debut in Legally Blonde, the Tony-nominated musical adaptation of the hit film starring Reese Witherspoon.

"He's so excited!" a source close to K-Fed tells Us Weekly.

Why wouldn't he be? Surely they pay in pot and Doritos.

A sometime actor, former backup dancer and aspiring rapper, Kevin Federline will test his song-and-dance skillzz in a trio of roles â€" including the hot UPS guy.

"This is his chance to show the world what he can do," says a pal.

Now that he has full physical custody of sons Sean Preston, 2-and-a-half, and Jayden James, 18 months, they might join him in the Big Apple.

"This is his dream and he wants to bring the kids," says the insider. "Jamie and Lynne Spears promised to help him make it work."

K-Fed enjoys a good relationship with Britney Spears' parents despite a messy custody battle and a couple of massive meltdowns on her part.

A rep for the show says he is not scheduled "as of this time."

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady kissed a perfect season goodbye with a tremendous loss to the New York Giants in the Super Bowl February 3.

But at least he can cozy up to a cute gal. Not shabby for a runner-up.

American Idol finalists sang tunes from the John Lennon/Paul McCartney song book last night - and the results were nothing short of shocking!

The man known simply as Chikezie stepped up with a performance of "She's a Woman" that was among the most entertaining of the season. He bounded around on stage with the energy of a toddler, causing Randy Jackson to say he "smashed it."

Simon Cowell added: "It was certainly a unique version of the song ... I thought you were terrific."

As for heavy favorite David Archuleta? He stumbled for a change, forgetting the lyrics to "We Can Work It Out" and having his performance called a "mess" by Simon.

The ragged audition has left the door open for the following finalists, all of whom earned rave reviews by the judges last night:

• Carly Smithson: Finally selecting the right song, this Irish crooner belted out "Come Together" to the delight of the crowd. Paula Abdul said: "I felt like I was already watching a star ... I couldn't wait until you got into the Top 12 so you could start showing who you are as a performer. You're amazing!"

• David Cook: Turned "Eleanor Rigby" into a rock anthem, eliciting the highest of praise from Simon: "If this show remains a talent competition rather than a popularity competition, you actually could win this entire show."

• Brooke White: Subtle continues to work well for White. She sat at a piano, sang the classic "Let It Be" and heard from Randy: "You gave a very heartfelt performance. I love that. I'm a fan!"

The next music video from Britney Spears' album Blackout may shock you.

No, not because of any topless shots or orgasmic moaning, like in "Piece of Me," or for her parading around bored and forgetting the words she's lip-synching to like at the VMAs while performing "Gimme More."

In "Break the Ice," a smoking-hot, animated Britney Spears works her way through a futuristic environment. Why go the animated route?

"Since Britney Spears has been otherwise occupied this was a creative and fun way to do her next video," a source said, being rather diplomatic about it.

That's a nice way of saying crazy. Anyway, who do you think is hotter: Animated Britney Spears (2008) or real Britney Spears (circa 2001)? 

The Hills is known for catfights, so it's only fitting that one of its beloved stars take the stage with the Pussycat Dolls.

Okay, it makes no sense at all. But it's happening just the same.

Lauren Conrad's BFF and roommate, Audrina Patridge, will appear alongside the Las Vegas Pussycat Dolls show inside Pure Nightclub on March 28.

The event will celebrate the new season of The Hills. No word on whether Audrina will fill the vacancy left this week by the departure of Carmit Bachar.

Audrina Patridge will be an honorary member of PCD. 

Sources say that Patridge will don the skimpy burlesque outfit (hot!) that the Pussycat Dolls are famous for to introduce the performers.

What else she might do has yet to be determined, but celebrity hosts have sung, danced in a champagne glass, and swung from the ceiling on a swing.

Past hosts include Paris Hilton, Pamela Anderson and Denise Richards. Pretty good (and by good we mean dreadful) company for Audrina Patridge.

Tonight marks the first show featuring the top 12 contestants on American Idol. They'll be singing renditions of classic Beatles songs, crowd favorites that are guaranteed to deliver a fun evening for all.

Except the person who gets eliminated tomorrow night. But that's over 24 hours away.

The Hills star Lauren Conrad has extended an olive branch to former Laguna Beach high school rival Kristin Cavallari, reports Life & Style.

NOTE: You can pretty much discount the validity of this piece of quote-unquote celebrity news right now, considering that it's from Life & Style.

Anyway, according to the magazine, "Lauren invited Kristin to her recent fashion show," says an insider. "And Kristin accepted!"

No idea why. Starved for attention? Perhaps she was just pissed at another Kristen for stealing her thunder and looking to get back into the spotlight.

The Lauren Conrad Collection is having its first runway show tonight at Smashbox Studios during Los Angeles Fashion Week.

Let's see if Kristin Cavallari shows - that way we'll know if this is real or the news equivalent of Ryan Shawhughes' and Ethan Hawke's love child.

We mean illegitimate, people.

Are Kristin Cavallari and Lauren Conrad ready to bury the hatchet? 

The girls' feud began three years ago over their Laguna Beach co-star and JV Hollywood womanizer Stephen Colletti, now 22.

Both Kristin Cavallari and Lauren Conrad liked and sort of hooked up with the cutie, who later dated Heroes star Hayden Panettiere.

Kristin was rumored to be set for an appearance on The Hills this spring, but LC has shot down that Hills gossip on several occasions.

Maybe she's just keeping the secret under wraps?

Here's hoping for some sort of Kristin Cavallari-LC reconciliation... or failing that, a brutal, public cat fight would be entertaining, as well.

Patrick Dempsey unveiled a cancer center in his name at the Central Maine Medical Center in his hometown of Lewiston, Maine, on Monday.

The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing, which opens March 31, will offer education and support for cancer patients and their families.

The handsome Grey's Anatomy star, 42, says he was inspired after his mother successfully overcame ovarian cancer at the hospital.

"For a family to get a cancer diagnosis is devastating, and all the information out there can be overwhelming," Patrick Dempsey said.

"A lot of the Web sites I went to just didn't have enough information."

Patrick provided a seed grant for the center, will also take part in the center's public education campaign about cancer prevention and detection.

His sister, Mary, a hospital employee, will run the center.

Dempsey has been married to his wife, Jillian Dempsey, for eight years. They have twins, Darby and Sullivan, 1, and a daughter, Tallulah, 6.

With all the scandal we write about on The Hollywood Gossip, it's always nice to see that some celebrities are grounded and giving back to their community.

As we reported earlier, New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer was caught on a federal wiretap arranging to meet at a Washington hotel room on February 13 with a prostitute named Kristen from the Emperors Club VIP.

His political future is now in serious jeopardy.

An affidavit based on the wiretap of the prostitution ring told of a man identified as "Client 9" - Eliot Spitzer - paying $4,300 in cash, some of it credit for future trysts, some of it for sex with Kristen - a "petite, pretty, 5-feet-5, 105-pound brunette."

A defendant in the case, Temeka Rachelle Lewis, instructed Kristen to take a train from New York to D.C. for an encounter with Client No. 9 on February 13.

Kristen was told Eliot Spitzer would be "paying for everything - train tickets, cab fare from the hotel and back, mini bar or room service, travel time, and hotel."

A hooker named Kristen could bring down New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer.

Court papers show that an Emperors Club agent was later told by Kristen that her evening with Client 9 went well. The agent said she had been told the client "would ask you to do things that ... you might not think were safe."

According to the papers, Kristen replied: "I have a way of dealing with that ... I'd be, like, listen, dude, you really want the sex?"

Goodness. In other Kristen-Eliot Spitzer news, David Letterman announced his "Top 10 Eliot Spitzer Excuses" last night. The list is, as follows:
