I consider myself a devout Catholic, and I am certainly inclined towards forgiveness in this overblown matter. If it is true that the girl did the photos before becoming Miss France, and that she feels badly for doing something insulting and in very poor taste (something many of us sinners have been guilty of) I think she should be able to keep her crown. This does not seem like a calculated attack on Christianity, but an episode of bad judgement. The foundation of the Faith is forgiveness. Don't strip (pardon the pun) the lass of her accomplishment. Why create resentment instead of an exapmle of goodness towards her? Gppd heavens, this reminds me of "The Scarlet Letter" which I am presently teaching to my high school juniors!

This is pathetic. I am a Christian as well, but I feel very confident that Christ would look at this and say that there is far more important things in this world. Who cares what this woman does...or does "Judge not, lest you be judged" no longer apply to modern day Chiristians? Get a life.

I swear I'll shut up after this, but Sal, you are wrong. The words are meant to say that no one, not you, not me, not anyone but God has the right to judge others. And that is my opinion...so I won't judge you for it....but USA RULES is still an idiot, if only for the name he/she chose.

The vertical line is a break point painted on the bottom of the pool. The horizontal line under her wrists and head is some type of floating device. I wonder if this photo was intentional or just happened this way. Either way, as a Christian, I take no offence.

Could anyone show me where it says in the bible we can't pose on a cross? How can we say she mocks christian faith? Does she do anything offending? People go to jerusalem each year to follow in his last steps. Even having part of the cross stapped on them. Must be offending too.
And there was a time christians stood up for their faith, and millions were killed. Think about the inquisition in Europe in the middle ages and the 'promotion' champain in other countries like south america. How many people did christians kill there? Yes christians (including me) should be very proud of that. Killing in the name of religion, anyone remember what happend to jesus?

Sorry Peter. But you proved me right in your words. "You are wrong" (oh but we can't judge).
You made a judgment Peter by saying I was wrong. Or can you not see that?
Either you're wrong or a hypocrite. Which one is it?

Mocking a religion is not acceptable in today's world, and Miss France should know it. But lying on the application form to the pagent committee is not a marginal issue-- she knew what she was doing and is not reaping the consequences of her actions.

If she had done this with ANY OTHER religion, she would have lost her title immediately, and would have been branded a racist, intolerant, etc etc.
But for some reason many people (as shown by many of the posts here also!) have no problem attacking Christianity.
