A distortion is the alteration of the original shape (or other characteristic) of an object, image, sound, waveform or other form of information or representation.
One can distort a photograph by placing an idiotic caption underneath it--need I say more?
Suffice to say, I could surmise that Hollywood Gossip is trying to make a racist inference by this statement since they referred to Elyse's Native American background earlier in the intro piece by emphasizing her race. Why is that important? Now you wouldn't want your readers to think you are racist would you? Or are you?
