I am SO happy that Matt chose Shayne! They are a perfect match, both so genuine and sweet. Season 12 of the Batchelor was the best ever! Best wishes and much happiness to Shayne and Matt!!!!!!

Did anyone know that Shayne's grandmother was the famous actress Ester Williams. She is Fernando Lamas's mother. She played in lots of movies in the 50's and was alway a swimmer. She had won a gold medal and was so beautiful that Meto Goldwyn Meyer signed her to a contract. She is still beautiful. I guess I am the oldest one watching the bachelor and Shayne was my pick from the first.

I was rooting for them all through the show. I was surprised that he picked Shayne. I thought he was leaning towards Chelsea. I was very happy with his choice. I hope that they have a long and happy marriage.

Correction to the previous message re: Esther Williams was married to Fernando Lamas but she was not the mother of Lorenzo (Shayne's father). His mother (and Shayne's grandmother) was Arlene Dahl, who was married to Fernando before Esther Williams.

Shayne's grandmother is Arlene Dahl not Ester Williams as stated by Sharris. Arlene is the mother of Lorenzo. Ester was married to Fernando but never had any children with him.

They don't just LOOK cute together; Matt & Shayne 'feel' cute.
There's something so refreshingly daffy and protective between them, and I think that's the sort of rapport which is so rare to find.
I love how she cracked him up by pulling out all her makeup after she wiped out on the slopes. That was hilarious and adorably ditsy.
She's just herself, no shame or apologies. The whiney bit did annoy me tho', so for a short time I didn't want her to continue... but then Shayne showed a depth and compassion which turned me back toward rooting for her.
Congratulations, Matt! You hit the jackpot, and you did it because you have the capacity to look past Hollywood glitter to see the human beings who feel just as you do.

Matt and Shayne are by far, w/out a doubt, the most adorable couple. Shayne outclassed all the other young women. Hope to hear more on their upcoming wedding! Matt is definitely no fool!!!!

I loved shayne, she is a very beautiful young lady. I'm glad Matt picked her to be his wife. I don't know why some people made a comments about Shayne, hey you don't this girl, so mind your damn business. I love Shayne and Matt. Good luck to both of you.

I fell for Shayne right away...I liked she would not tell who her parents were...It wasn't fair ev1 said "she's an actress so is here to be on TV"....HELLO...I doubt she "needs" to do that...She is only 22, and may not be oscar material yet...but the girl does earn a living..on soaps, etc..one of the hardest, most demanding of all shows. I LOVE Lorenzo..He is one of the sexiest guys...and at his age...wow..aged very well. Gorgeous. Shayne has been raised in an obviously "public eye" lifestyle. However, to someone's credit..mom, or dad, or both..She has turned out to be a very lovely girl. Both her parents should be proud. I liked that she had the personality of a girl..a childlike quality. Yet...Had the responsibility of an adult. It may not last...statitic's may get in the way...but it has a better chance with Shayne than those other females.

Ouch! Sounds like Carol's a little bitter! Yes, it's possible Shayne has taken everyone for a ride regarding her motives and sincerity in order to garner publicity, though it would appear that she was well-liked among the other girls--not an easy feat for any 22-year-old woman, intelligent or otherwise, who's in it for the exposure. If that's the case, she's a very talented actress when it comes to projecting genuine warmth and caring and she's got a great career ahead of her. I'm more inclined to believe those qualities can't be faked over the length of time Shayne was involved in the selection process. Even Matt's parents picked up on her charming nature during their evening together (remember his mom commenting on Chelsea's guardedness?). True, Shayne's not an academic, but she appears to have an open heart and open mind and there's a good chance she'll pick up a lot if her relationship with Matt relationship continues. Knowledge can be gained but kindness and caring for others seems harder and harder to come by. As a teacher I place great value on the former, and have enormous respect for those who are blessed with the latter. I wish Shayne and Matt every happiness and hope they can make a go of their future together!

I would have loved to have seen Shayne as the Bachelorette. It's hard not to get enough of her, because her personality and lovely looks are so mesmerizing. She also has quite an intoxicating quiet power that eventually stole the show! It was really all about Shayne toward the end of the show.

I was glad Matt chose Shayne instead of that cold fish Chelsea. Thank God Matt saw through looks, and went for the personality and the warmth and charm that young Shayne displayed throughout the show. Congratulations to them and I wish a long relationship together with beautiful children, lots of fun and adventure!!!

I haven't had time to read all the comments - so I may be repeating what someone else has said -My take on Matt's attraction to Shayne is that it was instant - he found himself having to "act" interested in other girls for what, 10 weeks? Now who is the actor? Matt, Shayne has nothing on you as far as acting ability because I could tell straight away that once you laid eyes on her, you were forced to finish out the show without giving your true feelings away too early - I have never seen Shayne act in anything - but there is no way she could be better than what you pulled off, Matt!

Great !!He picked Shayne. I watched the finger nails in the pre-view and Shaynes were wider than the other girls so I figured the hand they showed in ad was Shaynes and it was. I hope they are together FOREVER. And if Matt and Shayne read this Best of luck and I look forward to the wedding and seeing more of you both and to seeing you have babies.

Shayne is not only beautiful, but seems to be a very warm and kind person. I hope Matt chooses her because I believe she's sincere. I hope they're in love with each other!
