By all Democrat Party standards, this should propel John Edwards past Obama at the upcoming convention for the party's nomination. The only thing left is his speech declaring "I did not have sexual relations with that woman...Ms. Hunter".

I truly had the highest regard and respect for John Edwards until now. He was like a role model for how a husband and father should be. Everything that I felt about him is gone for good. His CHOICE to say yes to an affair, while his precious wife has been fighting such a difficult health battle, makes him scum. I hate him for what he has done to Elizabeth. She will never be the same again, the pain in her heart will be with her for the rest of her life. That's what broken trust does. My sincere sympathy for Mrs. Edwards and their children.

when will these people that cheat on thier significant others ever learn that even with the grass being greener on the other side of the fence, that it still has to be mowed... who knows what their living arrangements were... maybe they argued all the time... if it wasn't all that he should have told her he wanted out... but really folks... it's is all about the excitment of being in love... it is the nature of the human being... always looking for something new and improved.

Who cares? GOD! So many more important things to be dealt with other then who put what in whom. Give me a break. As far as Edward's career in politics being ruined I have one question. Did it ruin Bill Clinton? Honestly, this crap makes my sick. All the celebs like Spears, Ledger and politicians who are blessed with great opportunities many don't get and they blow it over sex or drugs. Some idiot funeral director in my area just killed his wife went to bed while his wife was beaten and thrown in the swimming by him and sometime later he calls the police to report about his wife. All over an affair he had with some woman he met over the internet. Wake up people. Is sex and drugs that important? Not only did this man's kids lose their mother but now their father too since he'll be going to jail. For what? Sex?

Unfortunately, our next generation will probably have very few really good people serving in public office. No one is going to want to run because the press will dig so deep into their past that no mistake however small will not go untold. No one is without mistakes and a decent person is not going to put their family through it. The press has exposed him for the low life that he is. We have been informed as we should be. Now drop it for the sake of his wife and children. They should not have to suffer the humiliation that he has set them up to endure. He is a poor excuse of a husband and Father. I think that he is another example of the poor quality of public servants that we will be stuck with. Shame on him and his cheap mistress.
