Marcy, do you think sexual issues are the only immoral behaviors? Do you think the unthinkable things you've said here are alright as long as you don't sleep around? Have you ever done anything you were ashamed of, and if so, did anyone curse you and wish you dead in public? If they had, they would have committed an immoral act of the highest order according to any religious faith in the world. Do you really think you have the right to say *anything* or do you have any control over your tongue? In my humble opinion, the person who said she is brokenhearted about this event (ZJ) is the person who actually has a functioning heart from which to speak.

marie genevieve - Have you read Ms. Hunter's bio? This (as you say in a demeaning way) broad is a very educated and intelligent woman. As I said in an earlier post....learn....learn....before you speak. Just shows that people go off emotion than the three things that should be in an individuals personal constitution....Reality, Logic, and Common Sense!! Get your facts and understanding correct before3 you open you ignorant mount and ideas!

Im with Belva...in saying its an unfortunate thing to happen, horrible timing of course but even worse for those of us holding Mr Edwards up on a higher pedestal than any human should be on. After GWB-Edwards still looks like a saint to me! For those high and mighties...those spouters of morality and superior values...maybe youve never been devastated by cancer in your lives and thats great but a goodly percentage of Americans have been touched by Cancer and know for themselves its a robber!! Cruel thing to happen in any family-and hey maybe John didnt pick well in the sympathy dept (Rielle doesnt sound like shed be a great stepmom...be real here). To Elizabeth: what doesnt kill you makes you stronger and Id like to see some public outrage and transformation for a change. Coverups are oh so predictable!! This time show us something we havent seen before...shake it up...try something that isnt a rerun Okay??

Morals never seem to matter to Dem Presidential candidates! or sitting Presidents! I remember Clinton coming out of his impeachment hearing and Gore saying he was the greatest president that ever lived! That and global warming were two of his biggest lies!Sadly, like cream, Scum also always rises to the top!
I backed Mitt Romney, a rare politician of true character and morals. Straight arrow, start to finish, and his wife is sick with MS, too. Morals do count. If you compromise your integrity in the bedroom, it goes without saying you probably will in all aspects of your life!

If he can "slip up" on his very ill wife who he made promises to, like love, honor and cherrish. Who he is supposed to respect and care for. How could he have looked his wife and children in the eyes, especially at this time in their life? What will he do to us behind our backs? More lies? Will his commitment to us be the same as the commitment to his wife and family? More Lies? And any woman that would put herself in a "position" like this is trash!!!! Maybe she'll get a talk show out of it!

Tried to have a civil intelligent discussin here, Maynard. But it looks like the toilet-mouthed, tunnel visioned, bloodthirsty neocons who think adultery is a Democratic sin no matter what it says in the newspaper (and certainly nothing *they* would ever do) hollered us down. I rest my case--government by Trailer Park it is. I'm going home to my puppy dog and my kitty. They're smarter, nicer, and better company than the highly educated humans weighing in here...

9 times out of 10 the wife "cuts the husband off" because she is no longer emotionally connected to him, and that's usually because there is some problem in the marriage itself. Who wants to make love to a jerk? Those men and women in that situation should get counseling instead of being resentful. As far as Edwards. He's a human being. We hold these politicians to a higher standard- why? They are no different than the rest of us. Its ridiculous for us to idolize them and put them on a pedestal like that. He cheated, he apologized, its between him and his wife. Move on America. Its none of our business what they do in their bedrooms. Most of America would be shocked to find out what their own neighbors are doing. This woman is a piece of work however. She has admitted the father of her child is ANOTHER married man with whom she had an affair. Oh what a tangled web we weave.

I really needed to believe in John Edwards in such a time of turmoil in our country. He is everything I believed in and always will. I am sorry for the mistake he made but I still thing he is a man of strength. I make sure he will help the family to cure themselfes and get on a better road to happiness and spirituality.
This Rielle is an interesting study. In fact I would like to study her more myself and get to the bottom of this. What can I do to maintain my love for the Demokratic partie?

Belva - Typical for the neocons--attacks without substance even though thier own party says they are about the facts and truth and higher morality. I hate to say this but the neocons, which tend to be the religous right, always have to insert religious theology into all political discussions. What ever happened to seperation of church and state. I don't want any religious group telling me what, when, where, why, and how. Religions are nothing more than a lifelong 12 step program for those who can't think for themselves.......policitally or individually.

I feel horrible for Elizabeth Edwards, and she is the one who matters here.
John Edwards' career is down the toilet and Reille Hunter will be posing for Playboy, sporting a newly purchased pair of fake breasts, in no time for millions of dollars.
Our country is filled with corruption, especially when it comes to sexuality.

Good grief, give Edwards a break. Ms Edwards seems like a nice lady but unless you're involved in the relationship you really have no right to judge. JE has an extremely high pressure job and I'm sure this was only exacerbated by his wife's illness. Maybe he was just tired and vulnerable. Maybe she's a lousy wife and he couldn't divorce her becuase it would be politically unsound. Maybe about a million things but we just don't know because it's not our relationship.
Worry about your own lives and spouses and get your noses out of celebrity's crotches.
