Edwards is going to have one nasty ho on his ass. This Hunter skank, with the 80’s peroxide “do”, looks wacked on acid. Marriage is sacred and I do not condone what John Edwards did. However, What I find ironic is that many of the people casting stones at John Edwards are very likely enagaged in live-in arrangements or likely have skeletons in their own closets, which, according to the Bible and everything sacred, is ADULTERY. But it is so nice to see people sit back and pass judgement. I do feel very sorry for his children. Remember what Chelsea went through.

Edwards is not the first .... nor will he be the last man on this earth to cheat on his cancer-stricken wife. My father's childhood friend (a surgeon) who was also our family's general physician, did the same on his physician wife who even sacrificed her medical career to raise their children. And yes, it was the nurse/secretary in his office.
Bashing one person won't do anything much for this phenomenon. What would be more constructive and positive is to dissect the "why this happens" part of the issue. For one thing, it just goes to prove that having a cancer-stricken spouse does not have that unquestionable power to guarantee keeping a man faithful by reason of sheer conscience. Catholic priests have a similarly the same predicament of keeping celibate... inspite of....Many have likewise fallen..... inspite of the holy vows they solemnly made infront of God's very altar. This just goes to show, that the frailty of human needs over morals & conscience can be overwhelming enough in some humans that there is no vow sacred enough to keep them from straying even for just once in their lives.

Women marry men to have kids and then make the man celibate. They take us out of the game and then call us cheaters. They are the original cheaters in the marriage by cutting us off. For better or worse does not supersede wifely or husbandly duties.
As for the cancer angle, Newt Gingrich served divorce papers on his wife while she was in her hospital bed and then his grossness hooked up with some 32 yr old filly who worked for him. Women, you must take care of the c**k or it will leave you.

I'd have to agree as bad as that sounds. I'd also like to add to it. Ladies, keep a healthy weight. Nothing worse than getting married to a woman who packs on about 15 lbs within the first 6 months of marriage.....and yes! That is my situation. I think of all of the financial, time-consuming and back-breaking sacrifices a guy makes for his woman, the least she can do is hit a treadmill a few times a week.

Many marriages don't survive for many reasons. Many other marriages may survive but not thrive. Many are downright miserable. Many don't survive the death of a child. Sadly, too, many marriages don't survive a drastic change in appearance, such as a 100-pound weight gain or mastectomy. John & Elizabeth Edwards deserve credit for continuing their loving relationship despite many trials.
I have been a fan of John & Elizabeth Edwards since I first saw them. I still am. I really liked his campaign message, even thought the 1st time I saw them, I thought to myself, "He cheats." He was too appealing to not. After one debate I said Elizabeth won the debate because she impressed me more than anyone. I'm glad to see that their marriage appears to still be strong. I still think they're a class act. I hope he is not continuing to lie, but I suspect that he is, given all the societal pressures.
"Infidelity" in marriage is way too painful. Maybe we should be more understanding about it, recognize that sexual desires are natural and not make such a big deal about something that is so natural. Making too big a deal about it causes more pain and hardship than it seems to merit. Sure, I'd like to see everyone find one mate and never feel tempted to ever have sex with another. I'd like to think everyone is strong enough to resist temptation. I'd like to think that even appealing married men seeking influential, powerful positions and having many people offer sex to them would say "No." But, that's not the way nature made most of us.
I believe we should be truthful unless someone asks us a question that is none of their business. I think it is really none of my business if my co-worker, Army buddy, neighbor or president is having an affair (gay or straight), as long as he or she is doing his or her job. Sure, I'd prefer that person to be living an honest life that is not hurting anyone, but it's not for me to tell another how one should conduct one's private life.
I'd like to see just once a public figure who has "cheated" and announces his "big mistake" admit to liking or even loving the "other woman." At least give her that. Many of these other women feel that they, too, deserve attention and love. They may feel they have more to offer than some wives. Oftentimes the men might have led them to think that; then, to save face, career, family, reputation, the "other woman" is left with nothing.
If John Edwards, say, loves 2 women and has children by both of them, I see a reasonable action is for all of them to live together in that huge house of his. There is certainly room. He and Elizabeth are going to perhaps need help. Rielle Hunter might be the kind of person who could love all of his children as well. If her child is his, he should not have to be afraid to proudly admit it and make it a part of his life. Wouldn't it be sad to grow up thinking you were the result of an affair that was a so-called mistake? When, rather, you may not think in terms of being the result of a very normal act of humanity, perhaps a loving, joyful joining of your parents. Regardless, each of us is deserving of kindness and understanding. If people were more loving and understanding and bigger hearted about why spouses "cheat," "illicit" lovers, "illegitimate" children, AND "cheaters" would not be treated in such a shameful manner.
Look how long it took Charles & Camilla to be together. I may not like what Diana went through & I might not understand. But it was not the public's business. How silly for 2 adults who want to be together to have to worry so many years about the public or about what it will do to everyone else, even. Everyone else needs, also, to be more loving and understanding.

70% of all marriages fail with the death of a child. Both Elizabeth and John were devastated and destroyed by the death of Wade and each one handled it differently. John processed it inwardly and Elizabeth processed it outwardly looking earnestly for meaning in Wade's death. John/Elizabeth Edwards ran for the senate and the presidency to give meaning to Wade's life as a continuation of the political message he started as he was recognized by Hillary Clinton at the White House 3 weeks prior to his death. They worked so hard and for so long to have it all come to this. Somethings in life are just not explainable.
