Maybe you missed the part where I wrote, "I'm actually relieved to be anorexic".......

  2. Z

Victoria, I have anorexia. I'm 30 lb underweight, am a marathon runner and therefore do not have a 'spare tire' as you suggest. I just don't want anyone else to be triggered because I don't thin there's help for me,it's a bit too late and I have to live with it.

  3. Victoria

You're wrong, Z. The mags are very hard on skinny people. Have you not been reading any of the press slamming Nicole Ritchie and Mary Kate Olsen for being unhealthily thin?

It's a common ploy of fatties to find solace in extremes. Why does it have to be one or the other with you people? Do you really think aneorexia is the only option to obesity?

There is no reason to be unhealthily thin OR fat. Unfortunately, Z, people like you obviously can't deal with the truth so you throw out the red herring of aneorexia in an effort to prop up a case that's hanging like your spare tire.

And before anyone accuses me of being mean, I'll gladly admit that while I'm sympathetic with people who truly struggle with their weight, I have no patience for "obesity advocates" who not only live an unhealthy, food-centered lifestyle but try to tell others it's OK.

  4. Z

Wow. Given all the nastiness regarding this woman's weight, I'm actually relieved to be anorexic--at least no one is that mean to us. While there appears to be shame in being too fat, there's obviously no shame in being too thin. I'm sure Keely is aware she's overweight and now she has to deal with a bunch of jerks criticizing her on top of it. To those of you being mean about it--if you ever have an anorexic daughter you have to put in a $1,000 a day treatment center because she thought she was fat and is now suffering kidney, heart and liver damage, you'll wish she were carrying a few too many instead of too few. Look in the mirror, people--you're likely not so perfect either.

she looks disgusting. over eating is a sin. after she had kids, of course she would be big, its natural. but she is not carrying baby weight. thats blubber and don't get pissed because someone reading this may be in denial abou their own self not being able to admit they are fat. she is still pretty and beautiful. but nasty and fat.

Women who say Keely looks attractive at this weight are deluding themselves. By no means do I think "lollipop" stick figures like Laura Flynn Boyle are attractive (I am 5"4" and weigh an ample 116 pounds), but there is a difference between healthy, ripe curves and unhealthy fat. Keely crossed that line quite a few pounds ago.

FAT OR THIN, I believe the photogs have gone too far. THEY ARE DRIVING THESE PEOPLE TO THE POINT OF MADNESS IN SOME CASES. SPEARS DOES STUPID THINGS, BUT WHY DO THESE PEOPLE HAVE TO BE IN HER FACE? celebrities in the 40's and 50's did not have it this bad, and the public LOVED its' celebrities as much as we do now. We have just lost all our manners.

I'm wondering what all of you are basing your fat criteria on. The BMI scale? That is a terrible place to start. I am a personal trainer and I deal with many women that are healthy and yet outside the BMI scale. How do you know she isn't able to run 8 minute miles? Stop judging on what you have no basis. Oh wait that's what these sites are about you shallow folk. Worry about yourself.

  9. maybe it`s me

She looks happy and confident, which is attractive in itself.

I lost a lot of weight myself but tend to agree with the people who think Keely Shaye Smith could do better for herself and her family. If you are fat you are more likely to develop health problems. Just because a fat person doesn't have problems at the moment doesn't mean they aren't around the corner. A smoker might not have cancer or emphysema at the moment but aren't they more likely to get it? I think that is what people have been trying to say.
Men who love their wives still love them even if they are fat but I bet if you asked my husband or Pierce Brosnan or any man whether he preferred a fit wife to a fat one he'd tell you he'd want his woman to be healthy and in shape. Maybe this is old-fashioned but I don't think it's fair to rob my husband of the beautiful woman he married. I feel great to be able to return her to him after a decade of being way too big.

Geez, Victoria, give it a rest. You don't know this woman, you have no idea what she eats, and if she has struggled with losing weight. Just because she is a part of a celebrity couple doesn't mean that she doesn't have the same struggles with will power and dieting that other overweight folks have. And you cannot just assume that she is unhealthy because she is overweight. I recently lost a lot of weight, but even when I was very heavy, I was not in danger of having diabetes, my blood pressure was low, my cholesterol was good, etc.

And I am shocked by the various posters who indicate that Mr. Brosnan would be validated in leaving her or that he can't possibly love her, and that men don't really love their women who are overweight, it is just a fetish, that fat people are in hell, etc. So much vitriol and hatred ... Maybe it is because I have been through it, but I don't look at overweight people with disgust. And I don't feel superior because I did get myself in shape. It

The woman is fat. She is fat. She can afford to get help. She can afford a personal trainer. She is a tall woman and she is fat fat fat. Call it the way you see it. When you look at pictures of her and Brosnan when she was thin he is clearly in love. Now he is stuck and so is she. He looks away when he kisses her, look at recent photos. And he is not seen with her much.

  13. Victoria

I'm not saying she isn't a nice person, and if the caption was about Keely's charity work, I sure wouldn't have commented on her weight. But the caption was about her weight, and whoever wrote it applauded her for being "true to who she is."

In a day and age where obesity is a growing problem for not just adults but children as well, shouldn't a public figure strive to set a healthy example? And what does it say if an advocate for the environment appears to be a glutton? Can a person like that really preach about conserving resources when she's obviously eating an amount that would feed several people?

I'm sure the Brosnans don't like the scrutiny, but that's sadly the price one often pays for fame, especially when they use their star power to preach to others about how they should live.

  14. Krisin

I think the sad thing here is not whether she is obese, (she obviously needs to loose some weight) but that the world press have made such a to do about it! The poor woman was having a lovely day with her gorgeous husband and child, she looks supremely happy and then look at all this uproar! For God's sake! No wonder Pierce took a swipe at a nosy pap recently. The Brosnan's are good people. Supporters of many charities and they do their best for the environment. Pierce and Keely are obviously very happy together and a good example of how Hollywood couples should be. Let them have some peace and privacy. There are more important things to comment on.

  15. Victoria

There was a typo on my previous post, which should have said that Keely is NOW not only risking the same ends but has other miserable fat people egging her own. I'm sure if I hadn't clarified it, some size 20 out there would have used the misprint as further validation to have that third cheeseburger for lunch.

  16. Victoria

Candice, no way are you a size 5. Sorry, but healthy, fit people DO NOT encourage or applaud unhealthy behavior. Only fat people do.

I'm sure Pierce Brosnan loves his wife, but if Keely truly loves him she'll do something about her obesity. And she is obese. Brosnan's first wife died a premature death from ovarian cancer. How sad that his current wife is not risking the same ends (obesity increases the odds of many ailments, including cancer) but has other miserable fat people egging her on.

Candice, when you were typing those insulting comments, were you at the same time dribbling cookie crumbs all over the keyboard? I somehow suspect you were. When you see another fat person, you see validation. Healthy people see a sad, unhealthy body that doesn't have to be that way.

You can tell me to go to hell. Fat people like you are already there.

  17. Candice

Victoria.. I hope you burn in hell

    Karmageddon.. you rock baby!

and this is coming from someone who is a size 5!!!

  18. Push her back in!

Wow that is a dirty trick. We all put on some weight here and there but to put on 100lbs in a year is a serious problem. Pierce would justified in leaving her (and probably wise). She's does NOT look 'fabulous' (#1 comment is a very delusional fat girl) and she should not be encouraged to think this is ok. I feel bad for her but I feel much worse for him.

  19. Sonny

All of you who think she looks good and sexy are probably looking in the mirror at your lazy, "EAT ALL DAY" self. American's simply eat too much! She looks disgusting.

  20. Dirty Hobanero

I think shes sexy, Id bang her!

  21. Victoria

And no, I don't believe for one moment that a guy wrote that comment I just responded to. Most men - and women - prefer fit, healthy mates. Average to just above average weight is one thing, sloppy fat is another. If you like that, then you are a chubby-chaser and that's not love, it's a fetish.

  22. Victoria

Well, I guess I'll see the U.K article as a good reason to remain healthy and you can use it as a good reason to remain fat. But I'm sure you probably have your reasons. Those Oreos aren't going to eat themselves, are they? ;-)

You throw a lot of stuff in your comments to deflect the true issue: Being a fatty is bad for your health. And I'm sorry, but it is ugly. There's a difference between flesh just hiding bone and hanging so heavily on you that it causes stress to those bones.

Your comment about about the broccoli just proves my point. Is that really how you think those of us thin and fit people live? I'm a U.S. size 4 and eat a healthy balanced diet that doesn't leave me hungry or unsatisfied. I don't jog, but I stay quite active in my day-to-day life. As a mother, I have gained weight before. And I lost it because I want to be here to see those kids into adulthood.

If you want to make the selfish decision to die at 50 because stuffing that Twinkie into your pie-hole is m

Heh, avoiding the fact that reading anything in the Daily Mail (if its the UK one) and taking it as fact is hilarious, the autopsy stuff, us overweight people KNOW! Did they mention how her being fat was down to her being a benefit claiming immigrant who killed Diana too? I'd love to see the photos of the slim guy hacked in half for autopsy who looks so sexy.

Damn, when will people quit telling us eating badly is bad, smoking is bad, drinking is bad, yadda yadda yadda. We know... we don't think we'll live to 100 by visiting Burger King daily, and we don't think the filters on cigarettes are where they store the vitamin C. What we DO do, is make choices, every day of our lives, do we grab the moments of pleasure now and die fat at 50? or do we chew broccoli while jogging at 5am every morning and live to 90? I know some people find great happiness in staying fit and healthy, and I don't constantly tell them they should sit on the couch, watch TV and order a pizza, so why can't I and

  24. Victoria

The only one praising Keely's unhealthy weight are other fat women. Before you go making yourselves feel better by pointing to Mrs. Brosnan as an example, you'd be best to read the recent Daily Mail article about the autopsy done on an obese person. It lays out just what excess fat does to your body, and it's not pretty.

    she needs to lose weight
