It's particularly sad when a couple split up if they have children,but in Katie and Peter's case it was always a case of 'when' rather than 'if' it would happen. Having exposed their family life to the highest bidder since day one it has become increasingly clear that Katie's priorities and values were completely different from Peter's. She's an insecure, damaged, distrusting but incredibly selfish megalomaniac; she worships money above all else - even her own children and set the bar for ways of making the stuff as though she were a finalist in the world limbo championships -very low!
I'm not sure that she is capable of truly loving anyone but herself, Peter was her latest naive victim - a fairly old-fashioned romantic, with traditional values but unfortunately too easily controlled by his hormones and he thought foolishly that 'Jordan' would change into 'Katie'...loyal and loving wife and mother and gain a hitherto unknown respectability as a singer, interviewer, presenter. However Jordan was always the one who held the reins and as time passed and the honeymoon period ended she began to systemmatically emasculate him by bullying, teasing, humiliating and resorting to sulks, tantrums and emotional blackmail whenever his plans were incompatible with hers. She used sex to punish or reward him like a sadistic tormentor and it was only a matter of time before he cried "enough" - and who can blame him. Poor, pityful guy - I only hope that he has learned a harsh lesson in life which will prepare him to hold his head high and never be used and manipulated or forced to compromise his standards and ideals for someone who is so unworthy again.
