I'm retracting everything I said. I obviously was exageratting because I've heard things, but obviously it was all just gossip!! I didn't realize he & the mom were on good terms. Not that it matters cuz everything is heresay anyway. Oh well, cheers guys and lets keep it non-personal. :)

I don't know if the statutory rape stuff is true or not, but if it IS true then Jason had to know that it was going to come out if he made it to the top 24. He really should have considered how its public airing would affect his son and declined to audition in the first place.
Honestly, if he's any kind of decent parent what the kid's heard all his life is "I loved you mother very much, but we were too young and couldn't make it work." Now he's going to have to try to reconcile what he's always known with "Your father's a rapist." It's just irresponsible of Jason to have exposed the kid to that in the first place.
If the facts of the situation are as stated. If not, well, then it's simply gossip and Jason's not responsible for any of it.

I can't believe people are defending this pervert by saying things like "people make mistakes," or "stop nitpicking," or my favorite: "It was an accident." He accidentally committed statutory rape? Statutory rape is a mistake? Please!
I somehow doubt that if this were anybody else, any of you guys would have supported him. But somehow, because he's succeeding, it's OK that he committed statutory rape on a girl that was barely a teenager. Congratulations to his fans.

They were both stupid. I'm 14 now and I'm not going out and having sex with 18 year-olds. It's her fault as much as it his.
I'm not saying this because I'm his fan [actually, I pretty much dislike him the most out of all the contestants] and yes, he was a legal adult, but everyone seems to forget the girl. They were probably wasted.

Sadly, there wouldn't be an uproar if he'd impregnated her at 17 years 11 months and 3 weeks! Somebody was all huffy about having sex with a "teenager"; which part of eighTEEN is throwing you off there? 18 year olds can be Juniors, and 14 year olds can be Freshmen, so they can certainly fall in the same social circles, much less be attracted to each other. I really don't think being inebriated is required to get horny with anybody. And all these goobers trying to cast 14 year old girls as innocent pristine kiddies needs to spend some actual time around them! Finally, the ultimate disrespect is slamming this kid for being born; he wouldn't be here in any other circumstance. They couldn't have "waited four years"; it's one sperm and one egg on one night, folks!

Oh dear, Whacko, you accidentally spelled your name wrong! I was giving generalizations, not trying to claim she was a Freshmen. My greater point is, it's ridiculous when people get worked up about 18 year olds, but don't flinch about 17 year olds. A switch doesn't flip and magically make you mature on your 18th birthday. And even more damaging than knowing about "stautory" rape would be people like you telling the kid "You shouldn't even be alive!". In the end, why don't you just let go of your apoplexy and let Jason get his on judgment day?

Ok...what he's done in the past isn't right, but none here should comments about his life or mistakes, because if u don't do any like that, u may be do some worse...so think about u sin before to be a judge to someone!
