First, let me say I'm not a disinterested party. I am married to one of David's mother's cousins and Lupe (his mom) babysat for my kids when they were young (and my kids played with David and his siblings). I also knew Jeff fairly well.
First, if he's gay it's news to me. AND to him I'm sure! Second, he is EXACTLY who he seems to be. His modesty and humility are 100% real. If you don't like him because of that, fine - but don't dislike him because he's so fake - because he is most definitely NOT fake. He is exactly who he seems to be.

What's all the yammering about not his "own version" of Imagine? It was the version Eva Cassidy did. Just like she had her own version of Over the Rainbow. Every song that is sung on Idol is someone's version -- either the original artist or dozens of artists who may have recorded the same song over the years and given it their twist. How many times during auditions or in performances a judge say: I much prefer Artist X's version of that. I wish you had used it. Or I wish you had sung the original version. Etc. David never said he created the version.
