Interesting peice of info for you all...
Did you know that on tuesday night, out of 29 million votes David pulled in 10 million of them?
I would say that is not bad for someone who had a bad night. Mind boggling is all what that is.
Gives you an idea as to how big this guy's fan base is.
That doesn't even account for the rest of the world that is watching because they can't even vote for him.

NBC and CBS are already fighting for the rights to the sitcom. Although I hear a side deal has already been settled with ABC.

Hey I am using my OWN name now. But for real, I think they are screwing David. First 60's week, then Lenon week (which he had a tough time at) and now they are doing it again (Lenon week again)!. Let the kid sing current stuff, modern music- soul- the things that will put goose bumps on your back. Why are they asking a teenager to sing music from 40 years before he was born. It is just not right- unfair and I hope others complaint to idol. Yes they should be given various "types" of music- but get real- it is 2007- not 1960. Lets let these young peope shine and not make them sing old music that they have never heard of.
I am not knocking hte 60's or Lenon or other greats- but this is a 2007 talent competition.
It should be FREE PICk of songs now and let them shine- am I the only one thinking this way?

It is 2008 and you are completely right. However Lennon and McCartney are some of the greatest songwriters of all time and they are only doing it becuase the people at home love their songs and wanna hear them. Hopefully david can get through this stuff so he can really shine on the new stuff he is comfortable with.

I'm not sure how they got so many calls of support about that week, I saw 4 performances at most that I really liked. Those songs are popular and timeless, but I was glad to be able to hear something else this week. That was until Ryan made the announcement on the results show.

No, Trevor, they are going to do it again this week. Same crap agian. Poor david will probably stumble again. I wish they would let him off the leash and let him shine- he has a WONDERFUL voice and great talent- but they have him stuck in a time capsul of the 60's - that is stupid.

I knew they were doing it again this week, I was just saying that at the time, after the show last week, I was glad it was over and they'd move on to something else. I felt way until Ryan said they'd be doing it again this week. As for David's performance, I think he'll do a lot better this week.
P.S.- I finally finished my senior paper : ) (thank God).

Where do you find these numbers? Are they published on a site?
I don't think the song choices will be as bad as all that this week...David would do a bang up job with either the Rolling Stones "19th Nervous Breakdown" or "Heart of Stone" He could put a lot of soul into those songs and that IS is forte!
I'm really "stoked for what's coming next"! (to steal a phrase...)

Well Simon did say something right- if it was a "talent contest" i don't think David would be sitting very well after the last two weeks. But because it is partially a popularity contest- David slid by last time. I just hope the he can get bak to his own music choices because he will SHINE like a bright little star when the set him free. This 60's crap is getting really old. I hope more people contact the show to protest it. I don't care who Lenon was - there are many similar music stars- but enough is enough. Lets get going and play some modern music and let these kids shine!

Just one other thing...

I just read the past few threads. And checked out the "Stats" stuff. David is a great singer but I think it is beyond that. He has touched peoples hearts with his sweet personality. Mannnnn I sure hope he stays true to himself and it doesn't let this all go to his head. But I don't think so cause he is a Morman. Happy ST Patties day!
