Kwame Kilpatrick, the mayor of Detroit, and Christine Beatty, his chief of staff, are under fire for allegedly lying about a sexual relationship that took place between them. There are text messages that apparently prove there was sex action.

How stupid does Kwame think we all are? He says his affair is personal business? Not when he lies about it under oath and messes up the lives of innocent people, police officers, his own children, his wife, his church and further muddies the reputation of the city of DETROIT. And lets not forget that this comes on the heels of his misuse of city funds for his OWN vacations,cars,immoral entertainment etc, while telling city workers they have to take a cut in their own pays! Come on Detroit, how long are we going to let this guy walk all over us and just take it???We're the stupid ones if we do!

The only difference between Kilpatrick and thousands of other people is he got caught.........others didn't.....or haven't.........I don' t think this is a reflection on him so much as it is on human nature and our moral decline.......goes back to what the bible says, "He who is without sin cast the first stone......."

Get off the man's back...he's no saint by any means...but he only owes an apology to his wife & children for any indiscretions & more importantly he only has to answer to God. All of these presidents were sited for having extramarital affairs,Thomas Jefferson, James Garfield, Warren Harding, Franklin Roosevelt, John Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, and Bill Clinton. These three had children out of wedlock Thomas Jefferson, Grover Cleveland, and Warren Harding.Despite their indiscretions these men are not remembered for those things. Now somehow you think the mayor's indiscretions adversely effects the economy, our jobs, and our households. Get a grip people! I don't condone cheating but I also will not condone idiocracy. The mayor is doing a great job considering today's circumstances. What issues he has not addressed ultimately is because you weren't concerned enough to address them as citizens yourselves. Remember the mayor works for the city what becomes of true concern to us is a concern for him. Plus how many of you ever lost your job because you cheated on your spouses. What if that were put into effect? I wonder how many of us would lose jobs because we lied or cheated or didn't do things the way others believe we should...It's something to think about. You who are without sin cast the first stone. What you need to do is pray for the man and his family and support a young man trying to make a difference in his community. Become involved, give opinions about what matters. Also, stop complaining about what you refuse to change. Go Team Kilpatrick!!!! Detroit citizens love to be abused, punished and treated like shit. The "mayor" treats his office as if he were the head of a privately owned company- showing no genuine regard for his accountability to citizens of Detroit. These are the people who elected him and to whom he is accountable. He recognizes the general stupidity, apathy, prioritization to have a black man over a competent man and he is more than ready to exploit the City for his personal benefit- free home, salary, cars, and general ability to subsidize a lifetsyle most Detroiters will never know at their expense. Pull the plug on this manipulative asshole!!

I would love to know how much he spends on those suits he wears. Clearly he has to have something tailored to fit his strange looking physique. I'm sure the taxpayers of Detroit are paying for it. Voters in Detroit are as dumb as D.C. voters.When will this country wake up? Race is the biggest factor in Politics today. Find a representative with some integrity and will not spend your tax dollars like this "new aged' black man.Have some person responibility as well. You create and perpetuate your own problems.
