Guys, just because she isn't american, doesn't mean she shouldn't be on American Idol! YOU ALL ARE BEING PREJUDICE!! There are other contestants who aren't american. Like ramiele who grew up in the phillipines and micheal johns who is from australia. And further more, the other contestants aren't amateurs either. They have had plenty of experience and a few have even played in bands. DO SOME RESEARCH BEFORE YOU SINGLE OUT SOMEONE! So just because Carly had an album, which failed, doesn't make it an unfair contest. It is completely fair to let Carly perform. Who cares if she had an album. It failed, so she wasn't really that good then. So she waited a few years and is trying again. I think it's very brave of her to take this chance. I think she will succeed this time. She is a really good singer and so are all the other contestants. Its gonna be a really close contest because everyone has so much talent.

wot is all the fuss about? Carly is a great singer NOW and deservers her chance.Nobody has to watch and you can always vote for your favorite mine just happens to be Carly.she sends shivers down my spine when she sings As said by Simon this contest isnt a best singer contest anyway it is a populalarity competition and only time will tell who the winner will be.

Ok she deserves to be on the show just as much as everyone else. Carlys last album TANKED. I had no clue who she was and im pretty sure 3/4 of everyone on this website didnt either before American Idol. Kristy lee cook also had a song out before american idol too. Some people are out trying to make careers for themselves before this show. If they find there big break on the show whos to say they didnt deserve it just because they tried and failed before. That would be like saying Chakeezie ((or however you spell it)) didnt deserve to be on the show because he was on it before and lost.

Oh and another thing. You dont want to see a "Foreign" girl win go and watch the country version of idol where all the talent sounds exactly the same. Stupid ignorant bigots.

Carly, should have been kick out when they found out about her past cd. Beside, she isn't that good of singer... Kristy Lee Cook, is WAY better than CARLY...

People like Tom are crazy, insane, and should be banned from posting on a public forum. He is the one who should be booted out.
America for years has been the melting pot of cultures. Even if she is not American, she is better than most of the Americans, when it comes to singing. She will be remembered for a long long time.

Carly was obviously the best choice for this seasons American Idol. None of the final 6 have the same vocal capabilities as her. Who cares if she had a record deal in the past under her maiden name. Maybe the producers of the show should rethink who votes and allow Canada to participate. They want our money but votes aren't good enough! Typical!

i think she should be allowed to be in American Idol because the first go around she was in on the show she was disqualified from it because of her visa from ireland hadnt gone through so she needs to have achance
