Oh come on, she isn't killing the kid! And besides isn't that HER OWN HOME, at least it appears that way to me! If Parental discipline is applied in a correct manner (not abusing the child)then there is absolutely no harm in what Kate has done! Where is Jon by the way...out with his girlfriend...oh sorry I mean friend!!!

Am I the only person angry that US Weekly has chosen to publish the picture on their cover, and now all over the 'net, with a little girl whose underwear is showing? How mortifying, and just plain wrong.

I'm with you on this. A spank on the butt never hurt any kid.. I drive a schoolbus and I can tell you a lot more kids need a good swat on the ass! Good for Kate

A spanking is not the same as "beating". I was spanked as a child and I turned out fine, heck better than fine I turned out great! I have three children 30, 28, and 10 they all have been spanked and they have more respect for adults than most of the kids today. Parents need to toughen up and practice discipline today with their kids. The kids today are just plain damn BRATS!!! I never allowed my children to act out like a brat anywhere. They learned that No meant No and no argueing about it. They were rewarded for their good behavior by doing something they really liked. No I did not use food or toys or gifts just plain gratitude and respect back to them. My children are polite and respectful and I am proud of my parenting skills. By the way, these people that are so eager to judge Kate's parenting skills, do they have any children? How about EIGHT children? These pompous asses that are so eager to judge others behaviors really need to take their own inventory and by the way, judgement

Stop hating on Kate. I love the fact that she is a strong woman, who knows what she wants and demands the best for herself and her kids. But it's funny how people from her family as well as her last boyfriend from high school are now on the front pages giving their stories about how bad of a person Kate was, I wonder how much they got paid? Kate keep your head up I know it's tough right now but it won't last, as far as you and Jon are concerned, everyone goes through a rough patch in their marriage, I've been there and it's tough and we are passing judgement on you and Jon from what we see on TV and the mags but we don't really know whats going on behind closed door, nevertheless, this is a time where you step back and look at what you really have, and I leave you with these two qutoes "To thine own self be true and The love of money is the root to all kinds of evil"

The media should focus on the children that are truly being beaten on a daily basis. Who's watching out for those children? Instead we're watching Kate Gosselin giving Leah a spank on the behind.

Parents get knocked for everything.. not 'disciplining' your kids gets you the "bad parenting" remark and when you DO discipline your kids it's abuse?? I agree that some parents take disciplining way too far, but if a child won't listen to his/her mother, they aren't going to listen to their teacher, their not going to respect authority.. it all starts at home. Leah wouldn't even remember this 6 months from now if it weren't for the stupid papparazi... some ppl need to get a life. I give props to Kate, if I had that many kids to take care plus EVERYTHING else she has to do, i wouldn't be taking any crap either.

Why do the tabloids make a huge deal out of everything. Ridiculous! She should be able to disipline her kids how she see fit. Just because she spanks does not make her a "monster". I don't agree with the way that her and Jon are handling things but don't make a mountain out of a mole hill. Find someone else to torture...
