I believe MJ knew exactly what he was doing, and that he was so consumed by his own narcissm, pysychological pain, and multiple mental illnesses that he chose to over medicate rather than seek help. Biff Jones, I agree with you 100%! Choices have consequences, and placing the blame for Micharl Jackson's death anywhere but the drug addict (MJ) himself is just plain wrong, and sends the wrong message to children! The doctors also made choices in this tragic situation, and they should also face legal consequences for their illegal and harmful behavior. Biff, your earlier posting is articulate, insightful, responsible, and true! I couldn't say it better myself so I copying your post. I hope that is ok!!! Every news/media outlet in the world should reprint your take on this situation. How are we supposed to raise healthy, happy, responsible children if we allow someone like MJ or his family, fans, etc to excuse his behavior for whatever pathetic excuse all of the above have come up with so far.

It is possible that Katherine Jackson did not know the extent of her son's addiction. Denial in families is often a huge impediment to seeking help for their loved one's mental illness. On a more sinitser note, it is also possible that she (and other family members) did not pursue a drug invention with Michael Jackson because she was/is financially dependant on him. MJ would hire, fire, and cut out people from his life that were trying to end his addiction and get him proper help. He wanted to do things his way, and he wanted to continue to use and abuse prescrdiption drugs regardless of what is cost him, his children, and other friends, family members, business associates, and the doctors who were trying to help him. This is very typical of an addict with a life-threatening mental illness. Read Dr. Drew Pinsky's book on celebrity narcissism ... MJ was a sick, self-centered, human being who chose to live his life this way. He needed help and he didn't get it ... period!

I agree with Biff Jones from another thread on this site ... stop trying to re-write the facts of this man's life. He was not an addict b/c of the pepsi accident. MJ was most likely an addict because he suffered from an undiagnosed and untreated mental illness. Everything points to a comorbis diagnosis ... bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, body dysmorphic disorder, and possibly post-traumatic stress disorder. If any thing, we as a society should be very angry that MJ would get a "free" pass and not be held responsible (along with the doctors who mistreated him)for this glaringly obvious misuse and abuse of fame, wealth, and power. A "good" father seeks medical rehabilitation for substance abuse, they do not go go doctor shopping, use fake names to obtain drugs, put themselves 350 million dollars in debt, uproot their children constantly in search of more money and drugs, and lie to their children about the identity of their mothers. MJ was a narcissist, a drug addict, and played the victim to the hilt! Now he has widened his circle of pain and his children will suffer the copnsequences of his selfish action for the rest of their lives.
