@Missy D and purple: I mean... really? All it takes is a publicist writing a statement for someone to apologize. You may absolutely believe that a few words means Chris is a changed mean, go right ahead. I choose to believe his violent, emotion-based ACTIONS instead.

Yes, thank you to all who have said this: I am not comparing crimes. I am comparing the POST-crime actions. Simply put, Vick understands why he'll always be judged based on what he did and is acting accordingly. Brown doesn't seem to comprehend the level of his beating at all and just wants the world to move on. But that's not his decision to make and his actions this week only make it clear why many believe he'd do something like this again.

@Melanie: My entire point is that Brown is NOT past the incident. You choose to believe his words? Go ahead. I choose to believe actions that mirror the exact, anger-filled incident fans want us to forget simply because Brown recites a couple lines.

@Amy: Why would he want to visit a jail? I don't know, to set an example for inmates and explain the mistakes he made? Sorry for suggesting that Chris take actions that don't include publicist-scripted apologies. You really have no idea how the world of journalism works, do you? They "should" be just promoting his album? Because... why? Chris wants them to?

@Neci: What do you mean leave Chris Brown alone? He went on Good Morning America himself. No one is randomly picking on the guy. I think the media wants Brown to understand the reason why this is still an issue, and not to react with the EXACT SAME anger that caused it in the first place simply because he's asked about Rihanna. I think I explained it reasonably in the column but Chris should learn exactly that from Vick: saying you're sorry a bunch of times is not enough. You need to back up those apologies with actions that include anti-domestic violence PSAs, speeches every week about the cause, and a lack of chair throwing.
