You missed my post about editing didn't you. I can pretty much guarantee you that the 40 minutes of TV we saw took way longer to film, I don't know if you ntoiced but after I cry my eyes look red for quite a while and it takes time to clear up, so what I'm saying is that he didn't see Molly 5 inutes later that was done to fit in the time slot. My Wife an I pretty much picked right as soon as both Jason and Melissa walked into the set that they were upset and done.

Too many people on here think they "know" what is going on, they don't these are all real people trying to make really tough decision in front of a camera and crew no less, I know that would be incredibly hard, as I said earlier ABC has just edited in the Drama and did quite a good job too!
Theresa, this wasn't out of left field you've been told for 4 to 5 weeks that there will be a shocking conclusion and voila ABC presents you with a "SHOCKING " conclusion why are you so suprised?
stephanie ABC will be shocked that you and what 4 friends won't be watching the show. And that is really quite an intelligent stement about what Jason and his 4 year old look like, so shallow and narrow minded
Tracie in Ontario and Fantabulo you appear to be the only ones with some reason, wait that's not true there are a few others but you guys are truly in the minority. There are alot of people that don't realize this is reality (sic) TV and is for ENTERTAINMENT purposes, ask yourself were you entertained? did the show allow you to take your mind off of your day to day lives? if the answer to either of these is YES then ABC was successful.
By the way, although I only know him from the TV shows and not in real life Jason appears to me like a good guy that had to make a very hard decision and in the 6 weeks that Jason and Melissa had to discuss their relationship without camera crews in their faces perhaps some real reality set in and things just weren't quite up to snuff. Therefore he changed his mind and went with Molly his choice c'est la vie.
All those people that are bitching on here will be giving ABC the best advertising money can buy "word of Mouth" everybody tommorrow will be chatting it up at work and even more people will want to watch Part 2

Remember people EDITING!!! they only show you what they think you want to see for effect, obviously they got the editing right just listen to you chatter on about how this girl is a snotty bitch Jason is an Ahole blah blah blah

To the people that are calling the folks on the show names and threatening them with violence, ask yourself this questions If you met them on the street would you say the same thing to their faces or stab them anonymously in the back from the security of your keyboard!

What you see on this show is the result of 100's of hours of filming edited in to fit in this time slot. So when you see Molly with her hand on Jason's knee that could be 30 minutes later. The editing doesn't even need to be in time sequence of when it actually happened that can take sound bites and scenes that they think fit better together to create tension, drama etc. An example is when Melissa and Jason are in the hot tub and drinking champagne take a close look if you have PVR'd it and from one pan to the next on melissa her glass is full and bubly to half full and flat back to full and bubbly. The editors are craftsmen directed to create the right mood for the show. Of course the show is staged how else could it be done, but what you see with the people on the show is real just edited for effect.
By the way when Jason came out he was serious, and then when they brought Melissa out she was very serious, i am sure they both had a discussion before airing about all of this, if you've ever been in a serious relationship you know when things are crappy, Melissa was fully aware of why she was there.
Oh folks stop judging what you think people are like, remember your the one watching this entertainment and that is all it is a small escape from your own reality.
