His job may be to beat up opponents inside the ring, but John Cena has nothing but love for Darren Young outside of it.

In light of this WWE Superstar becoming the first active wrestler to come out as gay, the face of that company was asked by TMZ for his reaction to the news.

John Cena Press Conference

WWE action may be scripted, but no one saw this announcement coming:

TMZ caught up with wrestler Darren Young last night and asked him whether or not a gay grappler could find success within the company. His response?

"Absolutely. Look at me. I'm a WWE superstar and to be honest with you, I'll tell you right now, I'm gay. And I'm happy. I'm very happy.

Young, Darren

As far as we know, Young is the first active wrestler in any major organization to come out as a homosexual.

His announcement comes months after Jason Collins made news for also coming out as a current NBA player and a couple weeks after Raven-Symone met some online criticism after revealing herself to be a lesbian.

Way to go, Darren!

Maria Menounos is ready to lace 'em up once again inside the WWE squared circle.

The Extra host was challenged on Twitter to team up with Natalya and compete on the SummerSlam pre-show this Sunday against the Bella Twins, an event that will take place outside Staples Center prior to the company's major pay-per-view that evening.

Maria Menounos in Blue

Menounos has made numerous appearances with WWE, debuting as a competitor in 2009 when she teamed with Kelly Kelly and Gail Kim to defeat Beth Phoenix, Rosa Mendes and Alicia Fox.

She also joined forces with Kelly for Wrestlemania XXVII last year.

Menounos competed on Dancing with the Stars in 2012 as well, but there's no truth to the rumor that her finishing move will be a paso doble.

Not everything in the WWE is scripted.

During an event in Cape Town, South Africa yesterday, Randy Orton celebrated a victory by standing on the ring's turnbuckle… only for a fan to sneak into the ring and clock the grappler in the testicular region.

See for yourself and, fellas, you may wanna cross your legs as you do:

"The matter is currently under investigation by the local authorities, and the South African fan is being held in jail pending criminal charges," reads a post on the WWE website. "The extent of Orton's injuries are unknown at this time."

We doubt they're very serious. But, as every warm-blooded male around the world can relate to, that doesn't mean this wasn't extraordinarily painful.

She may be done with George Clooney, but Stacy Keibler may soon be getting pinned once again by hot and sweaty members of the opposite sex.

According to various reports, the former WWE Diva is being recruited by her ex-employer to make a return to the ring.

Sources tell The Sun that Vince McMahon and company want Keibler to appear on Raw and/or Smackdown as the manager of rising superstar Daniel Bryan.

"She was one of WWE’s most-loved divas and this is the perfect time to get her back, as she has never been more famous than since she dated George," the insider tells the newspaper. “[WWE officials are] convinced a return would attract hundreds of thousands of viewers.”

Keibler last appeared with the WWE in 2006.

She has gone on to a moderately successful acting career and is currently hosting Supermarket Superstar on Lifetime.
