The Fox News Politics Twitter account reported this morning that President Obama had been shot twice in Iowa and killed. Not the case. Obama is fine.

The account was hacked shortly after midnight and the messages about the president were left around 3:00 a.m. The Tweets have since been deleted.

Mr. President

In total there were six Tweets that reported the death of the president, going so far as to wish Vice President Joe Biden luck in his assumed new role.

Unlike Rep. Anthony Weiner, who used the hacking defense after sending photos of his junk to women everywhere, it appears to be true in this case.

The account was hacked by "The Script Kiddies" (a slang term for beginner hackers), who vaguely aligned themselves with another hacking ring, Anonymous and changed the picture for the Fox account to their logo.

The "Script Kiddies" account has also been taken down.

According to Gawker, one of the members of "The Script Kiddies" says they are quite sophisticated despite the name, and chose to target Fox, "because we figured their security would be just as much of a joke as their reporting."

While hacking someone's Twitter - especially to report the president is dead - is reprehensible, we have to give them credit for that little dig.

Kim Kardashian is in love. And, for once, we're not talking about money, or attention, or endorsement, or talking about her weight.

The gigantic-breasted reality star spent the weekend with fiance Kris Humphries in his native state of Minneapolis.

"Kind of obsessed with Lake Minnetonka! Boats & O's!" Kim Tweeted yesterday. "It's like Vegas on the lake over here!"

Kim Kardashian Twitter Pic

Humphries sent out the above photo of his bride-to-be on a jet ski, writing to followers: "Look at Kim tearing up the lake!"

We haven't seen Kim stick her tongue out that far on camera since she did Ray J on video.

Anthony Weiner likely wanted to set a good example for folks during his time in office. But we doubt this is what he had in mind,

Joe Stangni, a Louisiana Councilman, has been caught in a Twitter scandal after The New Orleans Times-Picayune published a photo he sent of himself in his underwear to a town employee.

Explained the politician after this picture leaked: "I had an inappropriate but consensual relationship with an adult female and we exchanged improper electronic communications which ended in 2009. I did not use any government computer or city issued equipment to send or receive these communications."

Joe Stangni Twit Pic

Following the guidelines of Famous Person Apology 101, Stangi invoked a Higher Power in his statement, adding:

"I asked for God's mercy and forgiveness. I apologized to my wife and family and asked for their forgiveness as well. My actions and bad judgment had nothing to do with my duties and responsibilities as a public official. They were private acts, but I take full responsibility for my irresponsible behavior. This matter has been a painful experience for my family and I pray that everyone will allow our family to continue to heal. I am sorry."

The most embarrassing part of all this? At least Weiner had something to show off.

Pope Benedict XVI has joined Twitter. The Holy One made a video (below) of his first Tweet, which reads:

“Dear Friends, I just launched News.va. Praised be our Lord Jesus Christ! With my prayers and blessings, Benedictus XVI."

This new Vatican’s website features news in Italian and English. The only question that now remains: Can Benedict XVI out-follow Charlie Sheen?

Amber Rose has taken to Twitter to shake her head over allegations that she tried to steal Nicki Minaj's boyfriend via a series of nude cell phone pics.

The rumor broke yesterday that Rose was caught in a bedroom a few months ago with Safaree, the guy Minaj was dating at the time. Allegedly, the rapper proceeded to check her man's phone and find a slew of VERY racy, VERY naked photos of the short-haired model.

In response, Rose has lashed out at the celebrity gossip world and Tweeted:

"These blogs do nothing but try to ruin ppls lives I DID NOT send pics to anyones boyfriend pls stop with the lies. Its so ridiculous. smh. Yall been doing this to me for 3 years now it shld be illegal to write fake stories about ppl the media never wants to see anyone happy."

Of course, she didn't deny that photos of her in the buff are out there, which is a good thing. She might as well be honest. There's no denying THIS.

Okay, so you can't see her adorable little face. But Mariah Carey teased fans on Twitter Sunday with a fabulous snapshot of her baby daughter Monroe.

"This is baby Monroe saying 'no pictures dahhhhling' at 7+1/2 weeks," Carey wrote beneath a photo of her little girl's hand, raised as if she were trying to shield her glamorous self from a pack of would-be paparazzi. "Oh dear."

Pretty funny:

Perhaps Monroe's dad, Nick Cannon, wasn't kidding when he described Monroe and her twin brother Moroccan, born on their anniversary in April.

"My son is laid back like me," he said. "My daughter's a diva like her mom! When my daughter wants something, she'll let you know immediately."

Hey, it's hard to blame the little gal. Sometimes when the celebrity gossip media gets too close, you gotta set up boundaries early.

Chris Brown has been under considerable fire this week, and really since he assaulted then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009. People will not give the dude a break.

Given his frequent blowups - most recently a gay slur against some photographers he thought told the police about his illegally parked car - you can see why.

Chris did apologize, sort of, for that incident, but it's clear he's just as upset that he's being criticized for it as he is at himself for uttering it to start with.

Brizzle

In a string of Tweets last night, he wrote: "This will make things a whole lot easier. If you don't like/support me then don't listen to my music (sic).

"Latching on to my every word and criticizing makes you look thirsty. I can't even piss without somebody complaining. Imagine how I feel (sic).

"A person should not have to apologize every second for living life (sic)!"

Perhaps some are too quick to jump all over him, but at the same time, he brings a lot of this upon himself by calling people gay, throwing chairs through windows and the like. Work on the anger, Chris. Then people will chill.

Yesterday afternoon, MTV Canada ran a story about a Tweet from Rihanna, referencing her infamous beating at the hands of Chris Brown and allegedly saying, "'I admit it. I provoked Chris to hit me. It not entirely his fault. #imSORRY?'"

Just one problem. She didn't write it.

The story was based on an image reportedly screen-capped from RiRi's Twitter page. It looks to be fake, however, as there's no evidence this ever actually appeared on her page. As such, she's slamming the network for quoting it.

RiRi Tweet

This is all the alleged "story" is based on. It might be tough to hack Rihanna's Twitter, but it'd be ridiculously easy to fake this low-res image.

In any case, Rihanna Tweeted this response:

"@mtvnewscanada - are u f--king kiddin me?????? You're supposed to be a RELIABLE source for news on music and this is the bulls--t u post??"

Their response: "#Rihanna fans. We were reporting on a story that was posted on several sites today. We had no intention to be salacious."

Regardless of what terms she and Chris are on, there's no way she would write that. In other news, did you hear about Rihanna and Drake?

Roger Ebert set off a firestorm of controversy yesterday with a single Tweet about Ryan Dunn, the Jackass star who perished in a car accident early Monday.

"Friends don't let jackasses drink and drive." That's all Ebert wrote, but the timing and word choice upset many, including Dunn's best friend Bam Margera.

Ebert's Facebook page has since been disabled and the film critic has been widely criticized by many on Twitter. In a new blog post, he explains the Tweet:

  • Roger Ebert Pic
  • RIP Ryan Dunn

"To begin with, I offer my sympathy to Ryan Dunn's family and friends, and to those of Zachary Hartwell, who also died in the crash," Ebert writes.

"I mean that sincerely. It is tragic to lose a loved one. I regret that my tweet about the event was considered cruel. It was not intended as cruel."

"It was intended as true. I meant exactly what I wrote. I wasn't calling Ryan Dunn a jackass. I was referring to his association with Jackass. I thought that was clear."

"Note that Bam Margera uses the word 'jackass' in the same way in his tweet."

Ebert goes on to further explain the context of what he said:
