Wednesday's Nashville Season 2 Episode 9 saw Juliette Barnes rock on with her bad self.

Whether that constitutes the best version of herself or not is an open question, however.

Hayden Panettiere's character is one of TV's best, and in "I'm Tired of Pretending," we saw exactly why, as the country queen hit more high and low points.

Watching her smack down Layla was nothing short of awesome, yet it's also fun to see her softer side, when she shows the vulnerability deep inside.

The same is true of some of her music counterparts in one of the best dramas around.

The Tomorrow People Season 1 Episode 8 was titled "Thanatos," but "That's More Like It" might have been a more fitting name for Tuesday's installment.

John and Jedikiah took center stage as Cara and Stephen's romantic yearnings were relegated to the back burner, and it made for a terrific episode.

Mark Pellegrino, specifically, showed fans why he's among the best veteran actors working today with yet another powerful performance as Jedekiah.

The Originals Season 1 Episode 9 closed out the show's 2013 run in strong fashion, as the CW freshman drama continues to outshine its parent show.

The Vampire Diaries is still watchable and formidable, no doubt, but it's the spinoff that's raising the stakes with new twists, bombshells, and alliances.

On The Originals Season 1 Episode 9, Klaus opened up to Marcel about his time in New Orleans, and they ended up joining forces against the human faction.

Elsewhere, Hayley sent Rebekah and Elijah to protect the wolves Klaus planned to wipe out, and in doing so, they learned some new secrets of their own.

Meanwhile, Cami struggled to remember everything she forgot because of Klaus' compulsion, and thanks to Davina, it looks like she's about to. Painfully.

Almost Human Season 1 Episode 4 introduced us to a villain called The Bishop as the new FOX drama continues trying to flesh out what it will become.

Perhaps fittingly, it seems caught between procedural and human interest.

Despite some bumps in the road, there is potential. Fans have seen signs of opportunity to see the key players develop and to care about the characters.

In the short term, the episodes aren't even airing in their original order, so it's hard to rate Almost Human Season 1 Episode 4 without a bit of a qualifier.

Still, it's worth watching as the show has the chance to be really good.

Last night's The Blacklist Season 1 Episode 10 was the second half of a two-part episode featuring Anslo Garrick, and picked up right where the first half left off.

Aram shot one of Anslo's guys who had Liz at gunpoint, and they sent out a message for help before they were captured and brought before Anslo himself.

Fans learned that Anslo was not the one after Red, but rather was hired to find him and bring him to the warehouse where another man wanted to speak to him.

It turns out that Red knows a secret and agreed to keep it under wraps, but his deal with FBI threatened this other deal, and somehow it all involves Liz.

How did it all play out on NBC's new hit drama? It's time to find out.
