Brooks Wheelan's time has already come on Saturday Night Live.

The comedian announced himself via Twitter late on Monday that he had been let go from NBC's iconic sketch show.

"Had a blast and loved every second of it," Wheelan wrote. "I'm totally honored to be able to make this next joke... FIRED FROM NEW YORK IT'S SATURDAY NIGHT!"

Wheelan joined the SNL cast as one of six new members in September 2013.

But he suffered from a lack of screen time over his first few months, compared not just to veteran stars, but also to fellow newbies such as Beck Bennett, Mike O’Brien, and Kyle Mooney.

We all know how much Jack Bauer loves to chop off people's heads.

It was one of the most stunning acts in 24 history, back in Season 2, when Jack cut off an enemy's noggin in order to help with his undercover mission for CTU.

But this defeated former agent took no real pleasure in executing moral enemy Cheng on last night's 24: Live Another Day finale; that's because Cheng had already won the duo's battle.

His henchman had killed Audrey.

Yes, Jack's final love, his one reason to go on, became the latest woman to meet her demise on the final.

A woman named Claire Leeson has spent over $30,000 over the past few months to look like Kim Kardashian.

But a stand-up comedian named Robert Franzese has spent about $30,000 less than that figure to sound EXACTLY like Peter Griffin!

Featured at this year's Allentown Comic-Con (yes, there's apparently a Comic-Con in Allentown, Pennsylvania), Franzese nearly sounds more like this Family Guy character than series creator Seth MacFarlane, who voices Peter on the Fox animated hit.

Having also memorized all of the best Family Guy quotes and purchased some green pants and a white shirt, Franzese is a dead ringer for the father of Brian, Meg and Stewie.

Close your eyes. Watch him crack jokes below. And you won't even need to watch Family Guy online to get your Peter Griffin fix:

Ready to visit the Freak Show?

FX has unveiled the first promo for American Horror Story Season 4, which will once again be led by Jessica Lange.

This time, the Emmy-winning actress will star as the leader of an eccentric carnival in the 1950s. She'll be joined by such American Horry Story alumni as Sarah Paulson, Frances Conroy, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Evan Peters and Emma Roberts.

Michael Chiklis, meanwhile, will join the cast as the husband of Bassett's character.

What, specifically, can fans expect from the latest version of this drama? Creator Ryan Murphy remains mum. But the opening teaser features one very scary clown, so watch with one eye closed...

Looking to catch up on past seasons? You can always watch American Horror Story online via TV Fanatic.

Nickelodeon has given the unexpected axe to Jennette McCurdy and Ariana Grande.

The network announced yesterday that Sam & Cat will airs it "series finale" in a few weeks, canceling the popular sitcom after just one season.

It offered little in the way of explanation for the move, simply saying in a statement that "we are very proud of the show and its very talented cast and we wish them all the best."

FX aired what many consider to be its answer to The Walking Dead last night.

The Strain, a series based on the books of Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan and written by those same authors, centers on a type of vampire that looks nothing like Robert Pattinson.

Instead, this type of vampirism wiggles its way into its host and infects him/her from the inside.

True Detective was a surprise runaway hit for HBO, and the 2014 Emmy nominations indicate that the show is just as popular with the Academy as it was with viewers.

Naturally, there's a lot of pressure on showrunner Nic Pizzolatto to deliver again in season 2, and the show's one-and-done anthology format means that acclaimed stars Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson won't be returning for a second go-round.

So who will fill the (probably gritty, psychologically complex) voice in the show's second season?

Well, rumors that Jessica Chastain will join True Detective were shot down months ago, and no new casting information was leaked until today.

According to unconfirmed reports, it now looks as though Irish actor Colin Farrell will continue the show's tradition of transplanting big screen stars to the world of premium cable.

Forgive the obvious pun, but Dating Naked is coming to VH1.

The series (not to be confused with Naked and Afraid, though that will describe most contestants) will feature a man and a woman as they each date two different, birthday suit-wearing suitors.

At the end of the installment, each will decide whether or not to move forward with their matches.

Look for naked dining, naked swimming, naked horseback riding and even naked elimination ceremonies.

Sound too good to be true? Remember what Jerry Seinfeld says, fellas: there's good naked and there's bad naked.

Watch the first Dating Naked trailer now:

Dating Naked premieres on Thursday, July 17.

It's been 24 hours since the 2014 Emmy nominations were announced, which means Twitter users have had time to vent their outrage over those snubbed (no Tatiana Maslany?!?!?!), while the stars have had time to let the good news sink in.

Below, we present a number of excited/funny/grateful reactions from those up for the gold on August 25:

Emmy nominees

Matthew McConaughey, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series:” I am honored to be nominated with such a talented field of actors. This is a tremendous category filled with some riveting performances. Thank you for this recognition."

Lena Dunham, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series: “It's an honor to be recognized with this incredible group of fierce and funny women. This list of nominees would also be the list for the best dinner party in history. Many thanks to the academy and to HBO."

Beyonce and Jay Z are on the run... to HBO.

The network announced yesterday that it will air a concert special featuring the married superstars in the fall, taping footage of their On the Run tour dates in Paris on September 12 and 13.

The program will then air later that month.

On the Run Tour Art
