What happened before Batman began?

That's the question that Fox will attempt to answer this fall, as the network has given the green light to Gotham, a unique drama the network teases as "an origin story of the great DC Comics super-villains and vigilantes."

It will star Ben McKenzie as Detective James Gordon; Donal Logue as Detective Harvey Bullock; Jada Pinkett Smith as crime boss Fish Mooney; and David Mazouz as a young Bruce Wayne.

We'll also meet young versions of characters who will go on to become The Penguin, Catwoman and The Riddler.

Pretty cool concept, no? Check out the very first trailer for Gotham now:

Season 2 of Orange is the New Black hasn't even premiered yet, but the groundbreaking Netflix original series has already been renewed for a third season.

OITNB actress Laura Prepon made the announcement today on her Instagram page.

Reportedly, Prepon quit Orange is the New Black after season one, but has since announced that she will return for a few episodes in season two before coming back as a series regular in season three.

Man, it can't be easy to write someone in and out a prison show like that.

But hey, Prepon or no Prepon, OITNB is one of the most original and cringingly hilarious shows we've seen in years, and we're thrilled to have at least two more seasons of commissary drama and Pornstache creepiness to look forward to.

Syfy may be in danger of jumping the Sharknado.

Months before the Sharknado sequel airs, this cable network has ordered a third edition of the ridiculous franchise, one we can only imagine will be titled Sharknado 3: The Third One.

Vaginaconda!

The TV Guide Channel hopes it has found the right stuff for a hit reality show.

Yes, New Kids on the Block on a cruise ship.

Last night's episode of Game of Thrones may have featured a baby being sacrificed and an adult woman seducing a teenage boy, but the thing that really has fans upset is the accidental reveal of a major character's identity that was supposed to remain secret.

Night's King Photo

We'll go ahead and warn you now that even if you have read the George R.R. Martin novels upon which the series is based, there are some major GoT spoilers ahead:

Season 4 episode 4 of Game of Thrones ended with a terrifying scene in which a baby is left in the woods, only to be scooped up by a White Walker and transformed.

It's the sort of nightmare-inducing moment we've come to expect from the hit series, but for rabid fans of the books, the scene was hard to watch for a different reason:

Let no one say little happens on Game of Thrones Season 4.

Unless he or she is talking about Daenerys Targaryen, in which case... yeah. Little happens.

The Mother of Dragons sacked yet another city this week, taking its slaves as her own as they chanted "Mhysa" upon triumphing over their masters. Pretty sure we've seen this exact scene before.

Dany and Her Right-Hand Men

But elsewhere? Holy happenings, A LOT went down. Consider....

That cliffhanger ending to Scandal Season 3 where Rowan Pope had Harrison Wright trapped in the Smithsonian with a double agent? Yeah, that was goodbye to Harrison.

Columbus Short is leaving Scandal Season 4, the actor confirmed on Friday.

“At this time I must confirm my exit from a show I’ve called home for 3 years, with what is the most talented ensemble on television today," Short said in his statement to Us Weekly.

Columbus Short's statement thanked not only Scandal creator Shonda Rhimes but also the Gladiators who championed the series to make it the phenomenon it is.

"I would like to first thank [creator] Shonda Rhimes for the opportunity to work with such an amazing cast," he said, continuing, "Thank you GLADIATORS, who have supported me throughout my entire career and of course to ABC and Shondaland for allowing me to play such a pivotal role in the Scandal series."

Secrets, secrets are no fun.

Secrets, secrets... they'll kill everyone?

On The Vampire Diaries Season 5 Episode 19, both Damon and Stefan committed a rather grisly murder, but at least the former ended up owning up to his act.

Stefan, conversely, didn't tell Damon about killing Enzo (who is now chillin on The Other Side), a development that we'd have to guess will come back to haunt him at some point in the near future.

Most of the hour was spent on Enzo flipping out once the truth about Maggie was revealed (Damon, unaware of who she was, killed her on the night JFK was elected), even kidnapping Elena at one point.
