The former Law & Order: SVU star has signed on for a regular role on season five of True Blood, coming on board this summer in the key role of Roman, a vampire at the head of the much-talked-about-but-never-seen-until-now Authority.

Former SVU star Christopher Meloni has joined the cast of this HBO hit for its upcoming fifth season, coming on board as a character named Roman who is part of the much-talked-about-but-never-actually-seen vampire Authority.

HBO has not yet announced a season five premiere date for True Blood. But the network did release the first official trailer for the suspenseful, sex-based summer smash and it teases a rather major return.
