Make it work, Tim Gunn often tells contestants on Project Runway.

But the fashion guru made a startling confession yesterday during a segment on ABC's The Revolution: he has not "made it work" with a sexual partner in nearly three decades!

Admitting that he has not had intercourse in "29 years," the openly gay designer was especially emotional and honest during the show.

"I'm a perfectly fulfilled person," he said of his decision to remain celibate. "But it's very physiological."

Gunn held back tears at multiple points and spoke of his ex-partner, someone who he described as "impatient with my sexual performance," which prompted the 58-year old to go the abstinence route.

But Gunn also went out of his way to emphasize that sex is not everything. Far from it, in fact, stating simply:

"I'm happy to be healthy and alive, frankly."

Whether he's opening up about his own suicidal tendencies as a teen or unloading on that b!tch Taylor Momsen, Tim Gunn certainly does not hold back.

Not surprisingly, he has outspoken views on the topic he's best known for. Fashion. A subject he doesn't feel should be discussed regarding one star.

On Lady Gaga, Gunn said, "Who would want to emulate that? It's not even fashion. Those are costumes." No props for Lady Gaga's meat dress at all?

Certain celebs do win his approval, however. Tim, like us, is shocked Kate Gosselin is hot now: "I'm mystified. She's gone from being a soccer mom to being a cougar."

As far as his favorite young celebrity fashion icon, it's a no-brainer. Gossip Girl star Blake Lively earns that distinction: "She just understands clothes," Gunn says.

Even if she wears so few of them on TV.

As one of several celebrities that is speaking out on the troubling, dangerous issue of teen bullying, Tim Gunn makes a shocking admission in the following video: he once attempted suicide.

"As a 17-year-old youth who was in quite a bit of despair, I attempted to kill myself and I'm very happy today that that attempt was unsuccessful, but at the time it's all that I could contemplate," says the Project Runway host.

Gunn continued:

"I woke up the morning after taking over a hundred pills and I was in a whole other level of despair. I thought, 'I shouldn't be here. This isn't what was meant to be.' I frankly just wanted to start life all over again."

Following the tragic outbreak of young suicide this month, Gunn concludes his message with: "There are people who can help you. You cannot do this alone... It gets better, it really does."

Tim Gunn certainly does not mince words, and Tuesday night, the fashionable Project Runway fellow had some choice ones for Gossip Girl star Taylor Momsen.

While promoting his new book, Gunn's Golden Rules: Life's Little Lessons for Making It Work, Tim just shot a guest spot on the new season of Gossip Girl.

Let's just say he wasn't impressed with T-Moms.

For one, he says if the actress paid more attention to her lines than her phone, the Pretty Reckless frontwoman woman be much better at her day job.

He says he found Momsen "sad" and pathetic."

"What a diva!" he says of the trouble-causing 17-year-old lightning rod. "She was pathetic, she couldn't remember her lines, and she didn't even have that many. I thought to myself 'why are we all being held hostage by this brat?"

The main problem, he says, was her BlackBerry use.
