Yesterday, Entertainment Weekly practically broke the Internet when it released the lead shot for its latest issue, which features Vampire Diaries stars Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley in a smoldering embrace.

The image reminded many of a similar photo that graced the cover of Rolling Stone last year, one that also zeroed in on naked stars of a blood-sucking based series. See what we mean here and the let your voice be heard below...

Which cast is sexier?

Forgive us for ripping off a previous CW marketing campaign, but: OMFG.

There really is no alternate reaction to the trio of covers Entertainment Weekly just released in honor of The Vampire Diaries, specifically stars Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley. All three are featured across the main cover and two collector's items, and nary a shirt is to be seen...

Copies of the issue go on sale Friday, while inside producers Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson dish on the challenge of writing for a show with dueling, passionate fan bases.

"When we want Stefan and Elena to have a moment together, how can we do that and not have our Delena fans outraged?” Plec asks.

We've got an idea, Julie: just take Damon's shirt off. That will satisfy all viewers.

Breaking Dawn opens on November 18.

And in case the abs of Taylor Lautner, the smile of Robert Pattinson and that creepy baby kicking inside the womb of Kristen Stewart are not reasons enough to start lining up for opening night right at this very moment, The CW is here to help.

The Vampire Diaries returns TONIGHT on the CW.

In the first episode of the third season, Elena celebrates her birthday, but receives a rude awakening when Damon presents her with some very bad news.

Calling her an idiot for holding out hope for Stefan, he reveals what his brother has been up to in the months since we last saw the Mystic Falls characters ...

When we said goodbye to Mystic Falls in May, Stefan had joined up with Klaus; Jeremy's ex-girlfriends had returned as ghosts; and Damon had been looking really sexy.

The Twilight Saga doesn't actually conclude until November 2012, but Ian Somerhalder doesn't care. He's already making a pitch to fans of that franchise.

“The whole Twilight thing is about to be over," The Vampire Diaries stars says in the latest issue of Rolling Stone, when asked about his show's competition. "And teenage girls can’t watch True Blood with their parents - that would just get weird. So we’re getting ready to kick some major ass this season.”

The season will include a blood-thirsty Stefan, as previewed in this trailer, along with a closer relationship between Elena and Damon, Caroline and Tyler.

How does the cast get along overall? It's "a total frickin' lovefest," Somerhalder said, and he should know: the actor is dating Dobrev.
