Paula Deen may have had a bit too much of the Florida sun this week.

Or a margarita too many before appearing on The Today Show in Miami this morning, as the chef chatted up Al Roker in a strange segment alongside her kin.

Deen professed her love for "chicken balls." She interrupted her son at every turn. She couldn't stand still and she caused viewers to wonder: Is Deen going all Diane Swayer on election night?

Is she wasted?!? Watch and decide for yourself:

NOTE: We don't recommend getting drunk on national TV. We do recommend the Paula Deen butter pecan ice cream recipe!

Where in the world is Matt Lauer?

It's a question The Today Show has asked for years, but the answer this week has created even more controversy around NBC.

TMZ has learned that Lauer is on vacation with his family in Vail, a seemingly innocuous luxury, except for two facts:

Matt Lauer Today Pic
  1. It is February Sweeps, the television period where ratings truly translate into advertising dollars.
  2. With Robin Roberts returning yesterday to Good Morning America, you would think Today would want its lead anchor in place to go up against such stiff competition.

We're sure it's nothing a bottle of white wine can't fix, but there's reportedly tension between Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb over the location of their Today Show segment.

Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb

Insiders tell TMZ that Gifford wants to move the (often inebriated) fourth hour to Hollywood, while her partner is a New York City gal.

The simmering feud is gaining momentum, too, starting with when Hoda felt "snubbed" because Gifford did not promote her new book on air.

Goodbye, Matt Lauer? Hello, Willie Geist?

With Today Show ratings remaining stagnant, insiders tell Radar Online that Lauer's job as main host of the morning program is in jeopardy, especially because producers already have a replacement lined up.

First, he alleged that Matt Lauer threw Ann Curry under a bus.

Then, he randomly stared into the camera for 17 straight seconds (below).

So the question must be asked: what the heck is going on with Al Roker and The Today Show? Is the famous weatherman trying to sabotage his own program for the way it (mis)handled Curry's firing?

Roker addressed yesterday's strange staredown on this morning's edition of the series, trying to laugh it off, claiming it was a "brain freeze" and adding that the director was "egging him on."

Then, after Savannah Guthrie made a crack about how her colleague would fit in well at a wax museum, Roker seemingly took ANOTHER job at The Today Show, mumbling:

"Well, we are in a wax museum... whole other deal..."

If/when Ann Curry gets fired from Today, it will cost NBC a pretty penny.

Actually, many pretty pennies. More pretty pennies than a celebrity gossip website knows how to count.

Ann Curry Image

Network insiders tell TMZ that Curry is definitely a goner next week, and that the ousting will cost NBC close to $30 million because the co-host signed a long-term contract in 2011 that guarantees her $10 million/year.

That number ought to soften the blow, huh?

Curry is also rumored to become a foreign correspondent for NBC News, a capacity that will involve... who cares?!? $30 million?!? YEESH!

What will The Today Show look like without Matt Lauer and his impressive middle-aged body? Viewers will find out in 2013.

A source tells Entertainment Tonight the journalist will exit the morning series when his deal expires on December 31, 2012. He has served as co-anchor since 1997.

Matt Lauer on Today

This report follows other shake-ups at the network: insiders claim Meredith Vieira will also depart Today in September, while Katie Couric will soon leave as anchor of the CBS Evening News.

Expect all three to be seriously hot commodities once their deals expire.
