Whether it's on big screen to small, there's something sensual about vampires.

Maybe it's the way they get up close and personal with those they kill, or those they refrain from killing. Or it's the attraction of eternal youth and immortality.

Or maybe we're all just super weird for our intensely awkward attractions to fictional creatures, which is likely true. But let's not dwell on that part too much.

Whatever it is, there's no denying that when it comes to supernatural beings, vampires are the hottest. (Don't worry, Team Werewolf. You guys are a close second.)

From Dracula to Damon Salvatore, here are the 13 hottest vampires in Hollywood ...

Damon Salvatore
Damon Salvatore on The Vampire Diaries is hot, hot, HOT! Just look at his piercing blue eyes and try not to swoon!

Don't forget, you can watch True Blood online in time for this summer's final season, and catch up on all the rest of your favorite shows as well, at TV Fanatic!

Happy Memorial Day, THGers.

In honor of this special holiday, we previously posted a gallery of 19 Celebrities Who Served in the Military - and we salute those real-life men and women.

But television sometimes salutes members of the armed forces in its own way, as a number of characters across the TV dial are former Navy SEALS, army snipers and/or ex-helicopter pilots.

A few are also vampires.

From True Blood to The Vampire Diaries, NCIS to The Simpsons, we honor these fictional fighters in the following slideshow. Thank you for your pretend service, people...

Damon Salvatore (The Vampire Diaries)
Damon Salvatore sure knows how to wear a uniform, doesn't he? The character served his country in multiple wars. We thank him for his service.

Watch out, world! Uncle Jesse is out for blood!

When a HuffPo blogger called Full House "dumb," John Stamos responded to defend the show that was his career.

Annelia Alex wrote an article titled "The Lies I Learned From Dumb TV" and listed Full House among the shows she says "distorted her expectations for reality."

(Might want to pick up the Merriam-Webster 2014 dictionary and look up the word "fiction." It's been in there for at least 20 years.)

Full House
Alternate title: Three men and three little ladies. Don't even pretend you never wished for an Uncle Jesse of your very own.

When Stamos read the article, because what else is John Stamos doing these days aside from trolling HuffPo, he responded, criticizing Alex for laying the blame for the way her life has turned out squarely on the shoulders of television.

Yeeeeeaaaahhh...pretty sure Uncle Jesse also needs to pick up a dictionary and learn the definition of the words "satire." His sense of humor was apparently lost about the same time his career began to circle the drain.

The CW became the final network this week to unveil its new fall schedule... though this one looks a lot like the old fall schedule.

Adding two new shows and only shifting around one returning series, the network will wait until midseason to air iZombie and The Messengers.

Also on hold? Beauty and the Beast and Hart of Dixie.

The Originals' Joseph Morgan is engaged to marry his actress girlfriend Persia White, the couple confirms in a statement. That's some exciting news!

The happy pair released this brief announcement:

“We appreciate those of you who have supported our wild, creative, passionate and unlikely relationship. We have found a rare and precious thing; true love."

"We wish you all the same.”

Joseph Morgan, 33, and Persia White, 37, met on the set of the The Vampire Diaries during the show's third season, when he was one of its big stars.

Rest in peace, Father Kieran.

And, along with this late priest, rest in peace any semblance of a human faction in New Orleans as well.

Indeed, a major twist closed out The Originals Season 1 Episode 21, as we learned that Francesca Guerrera is actually a werewolf.

She struck a deal with Genevieve to have the witch create moonstone rings for her and her brothers so they could get their first kill, be instantly inundated with major power and then destroy all vampires in their wake in order to regain control of New Orleans.

It was brutal stuff, with good ol' Diego even getting bitten and Marcel crying in agony as he returned to the compound and saw his brethren once again defeated.

Think enough went down on The Originals Season 1 Episode 19?

Let's see. The hour featured...

... Oliver turning on his kind. This werewolf wanted to light a fire under his faction, so he lit up the bayou with multiple explosions.

And then when Eve realized the truth, he smothered her with a pillow! As Jackson and Hayley mourned Eve's death, we watched as Oliver's goal came to fruition, with the werewolf clan rallying around him and clearly being bent on revenge of some kind.

Well, so much for that treaty. It lasted a solid day or two.

On The Originals Season 1 Episode 18, the peace that Elijah had arranged between humans, vampires, werewolves and witches went out in a blaze of smoke.

Sorry, correction: it went out in a bloodbath, as Marcel compelled some humans to slit their own wrists at a party in honor of the new witches, the vampires there couldn't control themselves and dead bodies were left in a chaotic wake.

No wonder this installment was titled "The Big Uneasy."

In response to Marcel intervening in the city's calm, Elijah killed Thierry. He tore the guy's heart out of his chest right in front of his best friend.
