Fans of The Originals and The Vampire Diaries are in for a treat, as TVD star Nina Dobrev will soon help connect the universes of the two CW hits.

Nina Dobrev Swimsuit Pic
Nina Dobrev looking gorge in a swimsuit. She looks gorge in anything really.

Julie Plec - who created both series - explained the crossover and the type of role Dobrev will play on The Originals during a recent interview with E! News.

Plec says Dobrev will play an irresistibly "alluring" doppelganger named Tatia who had romantic dalliances with two main characters.

"She was mentioned in season 3 in association with both Klaus and Elijah, and how they became vampires, and a girl they both loved who was the original doppelganger," says Plec.

"So Nina Dobrev will be visiting The Originals for a nice little storyline in our fifth episode which airs November 3."

Klaus! Elijah! Rebekah! OH MY! The Originals Season 2 is coming! (Finally!!)

While we wait eagerly for the series to return, we thought we'd take a tour through IMDB to see what The Originals cast resumes looked like before they were stars on the CW's hit.

The Originals Cast
The Originals Season 2 returns to The CW on October 5! Take a look at our favorite Mikaelson siblings and their fellow castmates before they were stars!

Who made the biggest "splash" before finding their way to the bayou?

None other than BFFs Claire Holt and Phoebe Tonkin! The two starred on an Australian series called H2O: Just Add Water, a series which featured three girls who were magically transformed into mermaids.

Yes. You read that right. Claire Holt and Phoebe Tonkin were mermaids.

Klaus will be angry.

Hayley will be bent on revenge.

And Elijah, of course, will be wearing a suit.

The CW has released an extended promo for The Originals Season 2 and it features interviews with nearly all the main stars.

Daniel Gillies and Phoebe Tonkin both talk up a changed, vengeful Hayley; while Leah Pipes previews a possible alliance between fan favorites and... hey, that's Claire Holt!

Yes, the actress who left the show toward the end of The Originals Season 1 makes it look like we haven't yet seen the last of Rebekah. Thank goodness, right?

Why is this series akin to a "gothic fairy tale?" Get a sneak peek at what's to come now:

The Originals Season 2 Episode 1 moves to Mondays and premieres on October 6 at 8/7c.

Which of our parents do we kill first?

The CW has unveiled the first extended trailer for The Originals Season 2 - and the footage makes it clear that the First Family of New Orleans will be facing more trouble than ever.

Hayley is on the bloody war path. Klaus is battling with Mikael. Rebekah is telling a freaky bedtime story to Hayley. And the entire group is trying to pretend as if the little girl is dead.

"We talked a lot about the sins of the past coming back to haunt us in the present,” teased executive producer Michael Narducci, while Julie Plec adds:

“Our heroes are dealing with the return of their monstrous parents and what it means to them."

It means A LOT of danger. Watch the footage now:

The Originals Season 2 Episode 1 airs on October 6 at 8/7c.

Whether it's on big screen to small, there's something sensual about vampires.

Maybe it's the way they get up close and personal with those they kill, or those they refrain from killing. Or it's the attraction of eternal youth and immortality.

Or maybe we're all just super weird for our intensely awkward attractions to fictional creatures, which is likely true. But let's not dwell on that part too much.

Whatever it is, there's no denying that when it comes to supernatural beings, vampires are the hottest. (Don't worry, Team Werewolf. You guys are a close second.)

From Dracula to Damon Salvatore, here are the 13 hottest vampires in Hollywood ...

Damon Salvatore
Damon Salvatore on The Vampire Diaries is hot, hot, HOT! Just look at his piercing blue eyes and try not to swoon!

Don't forget, you can watch True Blood online in time for this summer's final season, and catch up on all the rest of your favorite shows as well, at TV Fanatic!

Happy Memorial Day, THGers.

In honor of this special holiday, we previously posted a gallery of 19 Celebrities Who Served in the Military - and we salute those real-life men and women.

But television sometimes salutes members of the armed forces in its own way, as a number of characters across the TV dial are former Navy SEALS, army snipers and/or ex-helicopter pilots.

A few are also vampires.

From True Blood to The Vampire Diaries, NCIS to The Simpsons, we honor these fictional fighters in the following slideshow. Thank you for your pretend service, people...

Damon Salvatore (The Vampire Diaries)
Damon Salvatore sure knows how to wear a uniform, doesn't he? The character served his country in multiple wars. We thank him for his service.

Watch out, world! Uncle Jesse is out for blood!

When a HuffPo blogger called Full House "dumb," John Stamos responded to defend the show that was his career.

Annelia Alex wrote an article titled "The Lies I Learned From Dumb TV" and listed Full House among the shows she says "distorted her expectations for reality."

(Might want to pick up the Merriam-Webster 2014 dictionary and look up the word "fiction." It's been in there for at least 20 years.)

Full House
Alternate title: Three men and three little ladies. Don't even pretend you never wished for an Uncle Jesse of your very own.

When Stamos read the article, because what else is John Stamos doing these days aside from trolling HuffPo, he responded, criticizing Alex for laying the blame for the way her life has turned out squarely on the shoulders of television.

Yeeeeeaaaahhh...pretty sure Uncle Jesse also needs to pick up a dictionary and learn the definition of the words "satire." His sense of humor was apparently lost about the same time his career began to circle the drain.

Adding two new shows and only shifting around one returning series, the network will wait until midseason to air iZombie and The Messengers.

Also on hold? Beauty and the Beast and Hart of Dixie.
