Elijah is about to get blasted from his past on The Originals.

At the conclusion of The Originals Season 2 Episode 4, this amazing character was apprehended and chained up by his scheming mother, Esther.

She wants to “purify” her son, to do away with his vampire status, and in order to prove that this is the best course of action, Esther will force Elijah to go back in time next Monday night.

She’ll take him back to his former love, a woman named Tatia who will be played by The Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev. Will this break Elijah’s will?

Neither of the Mikaelson brothers were left in a very good place to conclude The Originals Season 2 Episode 4.

Let's start with Klaus: after eavesdropping on her phone call with Davina, he determined that Mikael had been taken to her family's cabin for protection.

So he went up there with Cami, the latter stopping for the two to bonds over some drinks first.

And while it seemed like Cami was making progress in getting through to Klaus, explaining how he ought to appreciate the small things in life and how revenge won't make him happy, Klaus ended up ditching her on the dance floor.

He ran to the cabin and called out Mikael, who showed up after Kaleb (who was on hand to help Davina with a broken ankle) freed up from Davina's spell.

Nina Dobrev is set to portray another Doppleganger.

But don't scoff just yet, Vampire Diaries fans. She's on her way to The Originals instead.

The actress will crossover to this CW spinoff on November 3, coming on board The Originals Season 2 Episode 5 (titled "Red Door") as Tatia, the woman both Klaus and Elijah formerly loved.

  • Nina Dobrev on The Originals Season 2
  • Tatia and Klaus

According to Joseph Morgan, events on this upcoming hour will be "grim and shocking," which ought to come as little surprised based on the premise of Tatia's appearance:

Esther will force Elijah to go back in time and remember his lost love in order to prove to him that her plan for their family is best. You know, that whole rid-you-of-your-vampire-side plan thing that she announced this past Monday night.

So that family dinner didn't go so well on The Originals Season 2 Episode 3, did it?

Esther clearly has it out for her kids, hoping to vanquish their vampire sides once and for all at some point in the near future.

But it appears very much as if Mikael is the parent Klaus and company will need to worry about on The Originals Season 2 Episode 4, at least based on the following promo:

Titled “Live & Let Die,” the installment will find Hayley getting a tip about Vincent and his plan to build a werewolf army, along with the return of Cami.

Forget beef.

Tension, revelations and a whole lot of anger were for dinner on The Originals Season 2 Episode 3.

A very focused hour, this installment centered on a family reunion between Klaus, Elijah, Finn and Esther, per the latter's invitation.

The meal opened with Finn reuniting with his brothers, a tad peeved over why they kept him daggered for 900 years. A few old wounds were opened back up, but that was nothing compared to the bomb Esther dropped once she arrived.

She told a story about Klaus' childhood and a certain necklace she gave her son.

Ready to take a bite out of The Originals Season 2 Episode 3?

The CW has released a new clip from the upcoming installment, which is titled "Every Mother's Son" for a very good reason.

It will feature Esther inviting her kids over for what has to be the most effed up family dinner in the history of effed up family dinners.

Fans should also be prepared for a flashback that will feature Alice Evans, as well as the introduction of Sonja Sohn as a witch named Lenore.

So... which of our parents will we kill first?

This was the unusual, unfortunate question posed by Klaus to Elijah on The Originals Season 2 Episode 2, an installment that was a bit slow (by this awesome drama's standard) as it set things up for the Mikaelson family reunion to come.

Klaus now knows his mother is alive and not very well, inhabiting the body of the young witch Cassie.

Mom and son sat down for some tension-filled tea this week, with Klaus realizing the identity of the person in front of him little by little as the seconds ticked by.

On The Originals Season 2 Episode 1, viewers watched in awe and excitement as Klaus, Elijah, Marcel and Hayley teamed up to take down the Guerrera Werewolves.

So, that means all is now safe and sound and calm in the French Quarter, right? WRONG!

As teased in the following promo for The Originals Season 2 Episode 2, Mikael will grow anxious while under Davina's control. He really, really wants to kill Klaus.

Esther, meanwhile, will remain under the guise of a teenage witch, but it looks as if Klaus may start to have some questions about this mysterious character.

Fans can also look forward to an appearance by Nathaniel Buzolic, as we flashback to Kol in his younger days; along with more tension between Elijah and Hayley, seeing as the latter will be seeking to regain her position of power within her pack.

Out goes one enemy. In comes another.

On The Originals Season 2 Episode 1, Klaus and Hayley shook off four months of mourning to emerge from hiding and properly seek vengeance against those who forced them to send their daughter away.

Inspired by a reunion with Marcel, and spurred on by Elijah's diligence in tracking down all 12 daylight rings that were sapping Klaus' power on each full moon, our heroes teamed up and took out the Guerrera Werewolves.

Their plan worked perfectly. It was quick. It was unexpected. It featured a classic Elijah moment when he slowly and carefully explained to Francesca why he actually was permitted to enter her house - and it also enabled Hayley to look into the eyes of her arch rival, ignore her pleas for mercy and end her life.

So all is good now, right? These werewolves are no longer in control of the Quarter and it's time to party in New Orleans again? Not exactly.
