Heath Ledger Investigation Dropped By DEA

The investigation into Heath Ledger's death is officially case closed - the high-profile probe was closed abruptly without no charges being filed.

Mary-Kate Olsen had just been subpoenaed by a federal grand jury, but her attorney had been in negotiations with federal authorities since.

The actress was expected to be a part of a DEA investigation into Ledger's death earlier this year - after Ledger's masseuse found his dead body, she used the star's cell phone to dial MK three times before hitting up 911.

But with the case officially closed, Olsen's now off the hook. She must be so relieved. She'll probably start eating regularly now. Oh wait ...

On a related note, sources connected with the Heath Ledger investigation say the Drug Enforcement Administration set a new low with its conduct.

How's this for starters ... no one connected with the case can point to a single other DEA case where a massive investigation was launched over an accidental death in which no criminality was evident - or even hinted at.

Mary-Kate Olsen: Subpoenaed!

Note to celebrities: Do not stonewall the Feds.

Despite her claim that she has no information that would help clear up the mystery of Heath Ledger's overdose death, Mary-Kate Olsen has been issued a subpoena by the Drug Enforcement Administration office in New York.

The DEA order requires her to testify in front of a grand jury.

In a statement issued Monday, Mary-Kate Olsen's lawyer said that the frail actress had nothing to do with the drugs that killed Heath Ledger and that she has already cooperated with police in the investigation.

Celebrity news media outlets also reported that Mary-Kate Olsen refused to speak to investigators unless she was granted immunity from prosecution.

Access Hollywood broke the news about the subpoena on Tuesday night. No timeline has been given Mary-Kate Olsen might be called to testify.

Five different medications were found in Ledger's body at the time of his death, three of which he'd gotten from doctors in Texas and Los Angeles.

Officials are trying to determine how the late actor had the OxyContin and Vicodin found in his apartment without a legal prescription.

Olsen was the first person Ledger's housekeeper called after his masseuse found the actor dead from an accidental overdose January 22.

Lawyer For Mary-Kate Olsen: She Knows Jack

After reports surfaced the FBI is repeatedly trying and failing to get Mary-Kate Olsen to spill it about how Heath Ledger got the drugs that killed him, the skinny one's attorney, Michael Miller, has issued this statement:

"Despite tabloid speculation, Mary-Kate Olsen had nothing whatsoever to do with the drugs found in Heath Ledger's home or his body, and she does not know where he obtained them. Regarding the government's investigation, at Ms. Olsen's request, we have provided the government with relevant information including facts in the chronology of events surrounding Mr. Ledger's death and the fact that Ms. Olsen does not know the source of the drugs Mr. Ledger consumed."

Brittle Mary-Kate Olsen is at the center of the Heath Ledger investigation.

Cops say the masseuse who found a dead Heath Ledger last January spent nine minutes making three separate calls to Olsen before calling 911.

He then called her again after paramedics arrived. After getting the calls, cops say Mary-Kate sent her bodyguard to go check on the situation.

What does she know and why is she being all shady? If she keeps stonewalling the feds, Mary-Kate will have worse enemies than Spencer Pratt.

Mark-Kate Olsen Stonewalls FBI's Heath Ledger Inquiries

Anorexic actress Mary-Kate Olsen has refused to be interviewed by the FBI, which is probing the accidental drug death of her close friend Heath Ledger unless she receives immunity from prosecution, reports say.

According to the New York Post, the actress' lawyer has repeatedly rebuffed attempts by the feds to question Olsen - the first person called after her masseuse discovered Heath Ledger's lifeless body in his SoHo apartment.

Frustrated officials may go so far as to obtain a grand-jury subpoena to compel the fashion-challenged actress to talk about The Dark Knight star's behavior, his alleged drug use and the events of that fateful morning in January.

Officials have been interviewing everyone connected to Heath Ledger and his death, including doctors, the masseuse, bodyguards, maids, business associates and even the mother of his 2-year-old daughter, Matilda, Michelle Williams.

"Ms. Williams was extremely nice and cooperative," a source said. "In fact, everyone has been very eager to help, saying what a great guy Heath Ledger was, everyone except Mary-Kate Olsen, who has refused to speak."

Spencer Pratt Apologizes to Mary-Kate Olsen

Hoping to put an end to a brewing (and hilarious) celebrity feud, Spencer Pratt is apologizing to Mary-Kate Olsen for calling her names.

Specifically, he called M-K "the less cute Olsen twin."

After Olsen told David Letterman how The Hills star used to throw temper tantrums during their high school soccer games, Spencer Pratt responded with a tirade statement to celebrity news magazine Us Weekly. Now he's sorry, though.

"I apologize for getting caught up in trash talking, but she brought up an emotional subject when she mentioned the soccer stuff," Pratt said.

"I know [David Letterman] was just doing his job in asking her about it. He's the best in the game at that."

Spencer Pratt even admitted he is envious of Mary-Kate Olsen.

"I respect Mary Kate as a business-woman," he said. "I'm secretly jealous of her. I want my face on a lunchbox, too!"

Apparently, the bad blood between the two began after Spencer sold photos of Mary-Kate drinking underage to Star magazine while in high school.

She dissed him on Letterman.

He hit back on a celeb news site.

But it turns out that the latest Hollywood feud - the actress Mary-Kate Olsen vs. the celebrity gossip king Spencer Pratt - actually goes way back!

Seeds of hate were planted years before Mary-Kate Olsen told David Letterman about her high school classmate Spencer Pratt's ill-tempered ways.

In a 2007 Details article about Brody Jenner entitled "Screwing Himself to Stardom," his best friend at the time, Spencer, bragged to the magazine's reporter about how he once made $50,000 by selling a photo of Mary-Kate Olsen.

The shot was taken of Mary-Kate, underage at the time, drinking at a party.

Spencer Pratt Responds to Mary-Kate Olsen Diss

Ding! Ding!

The Spencer Pratt vs. Mary-Kate Olsen feud is so on!

And The Hollywood Gossip staff may not have a clue which side to take, but we couldn't be happier to sit back and enjoy the dispute.

It started earlier this week when Olsen appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman to promote her new movie, The Wackness. Prompted by the awesome talk show host, Mary-Kate referred to Pratt as "wormy" and said the following about her former high school classmate:

"He does not have a good temper. He would walk off the [soccer] field."

Check out what Mary-Kate Olsen had to say about Spencer Pratt... and then choose a side!

Pratt, of course, just had to respond.

"I don't really get why she'd use my name to get press for her little indie film that no one's going to see," he told Us Weekly Friday. "She should probably focus more on not getting dressed in the dark than on me."

See, how can you not love Spencer Pratt? That's hilarious!

"I know I've made it in Hollywood when a famous troll is talking about me on Letterman," Pratt added. "I forgive her, though. She's had to go through life as the less cute twin, which must be tough."

Such great stuff. Write in and let us know which side you're on: Team Spencer or Team Mary-Kate?

Mary-Kate Olsen Discusses New Movie, Spencer Pratt

David Letterman loves ripping on Spencer Pratt.

Then again, so do we, and there's certainly enough material.

Last night, Mary-Kate Olsen visited The Late Show to promote her movie, The Wackness, but the conversation turned to - who else - Spencer Pratt.

During a lull in conversation, Letterman began ripping on "young Hollywood" and all the celebrities going to jail, wearing no panties, and so on.

Turns out Mary-Kate attended prestigious Crossroads School in Santa Monica, Calif., with Spencer (other alumni include Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Hudson, Jack Black, Brody Jenner, Whitney Port, Jonah Hill, Cash Warren and many more).

According to Mary-Kate, Spencer is indeed "wormy" and "oily" (Dave's words) and used to storm off the soccer field in hissy fits! See clip below ...

We have no idea who this random dude is with Mary-Kate Olsen, nor do we really care. We are more curious about the odd choice of flannel shirts.

Seriously, we are curious who dresses the Olsen Twins when they get up each day. The same person who makes the beds and cleans their toilets?

For supposed celebrity fashion icons, these girls usually look downright ridiculous to us. Check out this photo of Mary-Kate below and see if you agree ...
