Gavin Beasley Talks About The Hills, Lauren Conrad
Remember Gavin Beasley, the boy that hung out on the beach and went on a date with Lauren Conrad on the last episode of The Hills?
Well, turns out he wasn't "interesting" enough for her to keep seeing, despite being a good guy.
As for how Gavin Beasley sees it? The model chatted with Best Week Ever about Lauren and - this is a familiar theme of late - the phoniness of The Hills that goes on behind the scenes.
Here's what Gavin Beasley says about Lauren Conrad and The Hills:
"I honestly had a really hard time talking to her. She's kind of a conversation killer, and when the cameras are rolling, all conversation is kept firmly on the surface.
She talked about how mean Perez Hilton was, and how you have to be nice to the paparazzi so they don't release the uglier pictures of you. I don't know. Pop culture, Red Bull, stuff like that. In fact, the most interesting thing I got out of her was that she isn't allowed to eat ice cream because her trainer told her she can't. What you see is really what you get with these people. Lots of fascinating discussion about "the club," Vegas, getting drunk, Heidi Montag is evil, and so on. The lack of depth was actually uncomfortable for me. Like, how can nothing be everything you talk about? OH, I forgot - lots of talk about Lauren's clothing line. That's pretty important, right?"
Ouch. That's a little harsh! Gavin Beasley also had some remarks about Brody Jenner, who was seen ripping him pretty good on the show:
"The interesting thing is Brody, off camera, was a pretty chill guy. When the show came out and he was saying stuff about me - like I was short, too perfect, boring, etc. - I didn't get pissed because I know that's solely done for The Hills. He creates drama and a story. That's why he's there."
The Hollywood Gossip Note: Following that line of thinking, Spencer Pratt must be there to help The Hills boost its score on the douchebag meter. Do you believe Gavin in his belief that The Hills is completely fake?
MTV Comments on Photos of The (Blatantly Staged) Hills
As we reported back on October 11, there is evidence in recent photos of The Hills that prove the "reality" show is a sham. And we're not just talking about Heidi Montag's plastic surgery-enhanced rack (or her engagement ring).
No, her relationship with Spencer Pratt (and singing career and apartment and job) aren't the only fake things on the hit reality show. The show is fake in and of itself. A stunning revelation here at The Hollywood Gossip.
So great is the evidence that a rep for MTV was forced to comment on photos of Heidi and Spencer at LAX... where he drops her off to go see her folks, then picks her up... a few minutes and one outfit change later! Smooth, guys.
Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag: A joyful, entirely bogus reunion.
BUSTED! While there's no denying it, MTV issued a statement that "This was a pickup shot for continuity that in no way affected the story line."
While this may be more or less true, they could do a better job hiding obvious fakery such as this. Or Lauren Conrad's changing fingernail colors. Or Spencer's mysterious disappearing, reappearing facial hair. What a douche.
In closing, all we have to say is ... Team Whitney Port!
The Hills Recap: Lauren Conrad Back on Dating Scene
Enough with the Lauren Conrad sex tape rumors, already.
It's time for out girl LC to get out there and date someone.
That said, what better place to get started than at a male model casting event at Teen Vogue. Working with Whitney Port, that's where Lauren Conrad met at model named Gavin - a guy she remembers she actually met before, at a similar event, and tried to set up with Heidi Montag. It's, like, a small world.
He asks Lauren Conrad out and she accepts. OMG!
At LC's place, Lauren "Lo" Bosworth and Audrina Patridge are excited about meeting Gavin. Lo says: "How fun! I love passing judgement on people!"
There's your quote of the night on The Hills, people.
The scene of the meet-up? Gavin joins Lauren, Whitney, Audrina and Lo at a beach BBQ at Brody Jenner's pad. Brody grills Gavin as gavin grills up burgers. This guy is clearly a little jealous of the new guy taking LC out on dates.
On the beach, Brody tells Lauren Conrad that Gavin is a nice guy, but a little bit boring. For LC's part, she's having fun, yet doesn't act too interested in Gavin.
Think Lauren Conrad is still a little hung up on Brody Jenner perhaps?
Lauren and Gavin go on a date to a sushi restaurant and it goes, like, okay, but just okay. On her way home, Lauren Conrad calls Brody Jenner to tell him he's right - Gavin was a bit boring. LC asks if he wants to come over and watch a movie. He asks which one. She says, "Does it matter?" OMG!
In gigantic tool news, Spencer Pratt continues to struggle with time constraints thrust upon him by Heidi Montag having an actual job. Every time Heidi must leave for a work commitment, Spencer acts legitimately put out.
Watching this guy, you just want to laugh... and simultaneously bludgeon his face and all its mysterious disappearing facial hair.
He's gotta be completely making this $h!t up for the sake of ratings. No guy actually cares about anniversaries... especially when they can't even buy a real engagement - or tell their parents they're engaged. Good riddance.
The Hills Recap: Some Bunney Loves Sex Tape Rumors
After a week absence that tested our patience, The Hills girls returned to bring Season 3's rising, soap-opera style tensions to a new high.
- The subject of this week's drama: Lauren Conrad sex tape rumors.
- The creator of the rumors (or at least the person bringing them up again, months later): Notorious troublemaker Jen Bunney.
Blame it all on the Bunney, indeed.
Lauren Conrad's fair-weather friend returned to The Hills with a vengeance last night, making that annoying ass pouty face and saying "like" and "um" more times than we can count. And blaming Brody Jenner for spreading those LC sex tape rumors that we thought simmered down months ago.
Of course, to any Hills fan, the theory that Brody Jenner spread sex tape rumors about Lauren Conrad sounds crazy. Where's the motive? This is a guy who won't say a harsh word towards anyone. And his alleged involvement in these rumors is a result of hearsay from - guess who - Heidi Montag.
Yes, Jen Bunney tells Lauren Conrad that Heidi Montag said Brody Jenner made up the rumors. Looks like she's just trying to take the heat off Spencer Pratt.
Traveling the way much celebrity gossip does these days - txt msg, omg - LC gets a message at work that Jen Bunney needs to talk to her. Small talk is not a big part of the equation here, as "Buns" is quick to drop the Lauren Conrad sex tape bomb, so to speak. Poor LC. She's just trying to move on and live her life!
Slightly suspicious of Brody Jenner, Lauren confronts the Prince of Malibu and he skirts the issue, reluctant to admit that he knows Spencer did it. But Lauren starts accusing him and finally he relents, stating that he knows "100 percent for a fact" that the loathsome Spencer Pratt is to blame.
Basically, this whole episode confirmed what we've known for months. You have to love The Hills, people, there's really no show like it.
In other news, Whitney Port was adorable (yet far too sparingly used) at the Teen Vogue offices, while Lauren apologized to Audrina Patridge for being judgmental about Justin Brescia (better known as Justin-Bobby) in Las Vegas.
He had a couple of good lines while shooting pool, although they may have to start giving him subtitles, because he mumbles too much to be understood.
Lauren Conrad, Mystery Date in N.Y. City
On The Hills and in real life, the lovely Lauren Conrad has certainly had more than her fair share of romantic flings in the past year.
From a rumored fling with Cisco Adler (before he hooked up with new gal pal Lydia Hearst-Shaw) to reuniting with Jason Wahler and Brody Jenner, LC has made good on her pledge to date like a guy in this new season.
Then there were the Josh Henderson and Josh McRoberts sightings, but we're not sure whether either of those meet-ups ever led to much of anything.
Well, here's another mystery man in the life of Lauren Conrad - this time in New York City's West Village! This is reportedly a date we will see on The Hills - and a scene that was reportedly semi-staged (like many others on the show) with LC ordering dinner several times before the cameras got a take they liked.
Man, she looks good. But who is this new guy with Lauren Conrad?
Staging The Hills: Heidi-Spencer Photos Spark Controversy
The Hills? Fake? We never would have guessed that. But this could be the most glaring example yet. Our friends at CelebSlam have pics of Heidi Montag getting on a flight at LAX and then returning there ... about half an hour later.
The above set of pics shows the great Spencer Pratt dropping his girlfriend and her fake boobs off at the airport early yesterday afternoon. The below photos show Spencer picking up Heidi ... a little later in the afternoon.
It's a joyful reunion at the airport for Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, who changed their shirts but are still wearing the same pants and shoes in each scene.
Of course, these pics alone doesn't prove a lot. Heck, our celebrity news writers can only afford one pair of jeans and shoes on their meager wages. But we certainly wouldn't dispute that these photos were taken on the same day.
Would it surprise you? It shouldn't. It also doesn't change the fact that The Hills is the ultimate guilty pleasure, and we're all just tuning in to watch the adorable Lauren Conrad go clubbing and to scream at Heidi and Spencer anyway.
The Hills: Burning Questions Answered
On MTV's reality TV show The Hills, gorgeous Teen Vogue intern Lauren Conrad and her well-heeled friends laugh, bicker, wear fabulous clothes and hang out in L.A. hot spots, all with the cameras following them.
The girls themselves â" and the show's executive producer â" recently dished to TV Guide on how the heck they afford those awesome digs, how often they get a break from the cameras and just how real the reality TV series is.
Q: Once and for all, is the show staged?
A: Yes and no. "Who I am on the show is who I am in real life," Audrina Patridge says. "What you see is what you get." But it wasn't a coincidence that enemies Lauren and Heidi Montag went to the trendy restaurant Ketchup on the same night. "Lauren and Jason Wahler were going there, and Heidi and Spencer Pratt wanted to celebrate their anniversary," says executive producer Adam DiVello. "Ketchup was one of the spots Spencer wanted to go to, so it just sort of worked out... it is a little fake."
Q: How do Lauren Conrad and Audrina Patridge afford that apartment?
A: We have no idea. MTV won't name the complex (it's not really Hillside Villas) because if people find out, they camp out waiting to see Audrina and LC. But a two-bedroom pad in that area costs about $3,000 a month. Audrina works part-time at Epic Records and Lauren is an intern at Teen Vogue. Do the math.
Q: Do Lauren and Audrina have a standing reservation at Les Deux?
A: No, but they're friends with the promoters and owners, so they know they will always be whisked past the velvet rope. Plus, the other clubgoers seem to have gotten used to seeing the cast there all the time, so the camera crews can go about their business pretty much unbothered. "It's like a home away from home," Audrina says. If your home always has a fully stocked bar, that is.
Q: How long do the girls have cameras with them each day?
A: Sometimes hours, sometimes not at all. Monday and Tuesday are their days off. "We don't have a set schedule," Audrina says. "It depends on what's going on." At the beginning of each week, the girls speak with producers about their plans. "I hate to say we schedule their lives, but we schedule what we want to cover," DiVello says. So if they are going on a date or to Les Deux, the MTV crews tag along. But if they're bumming around the house solo, the cameras probably skip it.
Q: The girls are always dressed to the nines and look as though they just stepped out of the salon. Does the show provide wardrobe, hair and makeup?
A: Nope, the girls are responsible for how they look. "That's partly why it's reality," Audrina Patridge says. But she does admit she always wears makeup and tries to dress "halfway decent" when the cameras are rolling.
Q: Is Heidi and Spencer's relationship a sham?
A: Not according to DiVello. "They're very much in love when I see them," he says. "They're a real couple and definitely engaged. It's not staged for the sake of our show. If they've got something else going on, we've yet to see it."
The Hills Recap: Brody's Birthday, Elodie's Revenge
After weeks of standing on the sidelines and weighing in on her friends' romances on The Hills, the lovely Lauren Conrad finally got a little action herself - at the birthday party for her ex, Brody Jenner, in Las Vegas.
After a surprise arrival in Las Vegas for pal Jenner's birthday, LC gave her hunky ex a birthday kiss, and then later, some "just-because" kisses. Sexy!
While we don't think these two are officially back on, that Lauren Conrad sure is cute when she gives people those flirty eyes, don't you think?
Credit for their possibly rekindled romance has to go to Brody's bud, Frankie Delgado, who seemed to spend a lot of time convincing Lauren Conrad that the reason she and Brody used to fight was - what else - the presence of Spencer Pratt.
Speaking of Frankie Delgado, he got some action himself - from LC's namesake pal, Lauren Bosworth, a.k.a. Lo. The highlight of the night was a tipsy Lo falling over and flashing her friends, to which Lauren replied, "I just saw Lo's Britney!"
Yup, it was all good in Las Vegas... except for Justin Bobby. The boyfriend of Audrina Patridge (real name Justin Brescia), J-Bobby didn't say two words the whole time, despite the girls' efforts to engage him in conversation.
When Lo and LC confront Audrina regarding J-B's unwillingness to, you know, act like an adult and speak, Audrina lets them have it, saying "Okay, I'll blow him off, I'll never see him again, just to make you guys happy... I'm done!"
The high drama of the night goes to Heidi Montag's co-worker, Elodie. Still pissed over Heidi's promotion, she quits. Then, on her last day, Elodie agrees to cover a big event for Heidi, who wants to celebrate her anniversary with Spencer.
In one of the biggest, funniest, passive-aggressive bitch moves in Hills history, Elodie says sure, she'll cover for Heidi, knowing damn well she won't even be working at the company by that night. Details, right?
As a result of Elodie's mean maneuver, Spencer and Heidi's romantic dinner at Don Antonio's Mexican Restaurant is cut short when she gets an urgent call that the event she is supposed to be running is not staffed by... anyone!
Oh snap! Next up? If you thought the Lauren Conrad sex tape drama was over ... you were right. But that won't stop everyone from pointing fingers at each other regarding who spread the rumors in the first place!
The Hills Recap: Meet Katja Decker-Sadowski!
That's the focal point of this drama-filled episode.
In her continuing efforts to forge a friendship with her former flame, Jason Wahler, star Lauren Conrad wasn't exactly expecting to learn that ...
- He has a new girlfriend.
- Oh, and they're living together.
- They're engaged! Surprise! Woo!
Jason drops bombs #1 and #2 during a lunch date with LC, inviting her to a housewarming party thrown by himself and his new gal. She accepts.
Only when Lauren and Audrina Patridge attend said party do they learn the full extent of Jason's relationship with Katja Decker-Sadowski.
The big moment comes when a drunk frat guy offers a toast - with a plastic cup of beer, just pumped from a keg - to celebrate the engagement of Wahler.
Lauren's eyes widened to the size of dinner plates.
Her heartbreak and complete shock evident, LC feigns happiness for a time, though later she confides to Jason that "I think you're being an idiot."
After all, he's only 20 years old and still in a recovering alcoholics program that recommends he not date anyone... let alone get engaged to someone.
A calm Jason Wahler just rolls with his ex-girlfriend's criticism, though, and is clearly happy with Katja Decker-Sadowski, a tennis player at USC.
The highlight of the night came when a clearly jealous Katja interrupted Lauren's during her heart-to-heart with Jason on the deck, heaving herself on Wahler's lap in one of the most awkward moments in Hills history. What a bitch!
Left: Jason and fiancee Katja Decker-Sadowski. Right: LC and Whitney.
The next day, Lauren Conrad reflected on the events with a cooler head, saying "this could have been me ... but as much as I love Jason, I'm glad it's not!"
She also noted that she's dreamed about the day gets engaged and it doesn't involve plastic cups of beer and Bob Marley posters. Same here, Lauren!
In other news, Whitney Port drops the ball a little at Teen Vogue when she is in charge of a photo shoot for a band, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, but goes out and parties with them late the night before and everyone shows up late. Fortunately, her editor, Lisa Love, only gives our girl a slight reprimand and tells her to step it up.
Lastly, the loathesome Spencer Pratt is not psyched about registering for wedding presents. Or telling his parents that he's engaged to Heidi Montag. The episode ends with Spence's sheepish admission that his folks don't even know... despite the fact that he's a media whore who appears on a well-known reality show!

Lauren Conrad Almost Pulled the Plug on The Hills
Disappointed with the behavior of Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, Lauren Conrad says she almost bailed on The Hills before the current season.
"I actually came dangerously close to not doing season three, because I really didn't want to do the show with Heidi and Spencer," the cutie tells Seventeen.
"I'm not who they are. I don't stage my own publicity. I just kind of live my life and do my job, and I don't want to be grouped with them."
Lauren Conrad, 21, says MTV argued that all the characters needed to return for the show to work.
"The network said Heidi and Spencer were always a part of the show, and they can't all of a sudden make main characters disappear," Lauren Conrad said. "And so we continue to follow their lives, and the producers keep letting Heidi and Spencer think there's some hope [we'll make up]."
Speaking to Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show recently, Lauren Conrad said Heidi Montag is not the same person she used to know.
In the Seventeen interview, The Hills star reflects on her broken friendship, and puts much of the blame on the reckless pursuit of fame.
"Some people are willing to betray years of friendship just to get a little bit of the spotlight," Conrad says. "They just want to become famous so badly, and that's never really made sense to me. I mean, it's fun to go out and do stuff in Hollywood, but if it was gone tomorrow, I really wouldn't be disappointed."
The former friends fell out after Lauren accused Heidi and Spencer of spreading a rumor about a sex video involving Conrad and her ex, Jason Wahler.
The Lauren Conrad sex tape never existed, she maintains.
On a lighter note, Conrad also reveals to Seventeen a little bit about her dating habits: "I don't kiss on the first date," she says. "My friends always make fun of me for that! But I will hold hands." Aww.
