With tearful goodbyes, key story lines wrapped up and a post-show appearance by former star Lauren Conrad, much fanfare surrounded The Hills finale.

But while the live after-party (click here for cast photos) celebrated the six-season run, many fans were left scratching their heads about the last scene.

Another Kristin Cavallari Bikini Pic

As Tuesday's episode drew to a close, Kristin Cavallari stepped into a waiting car destined for the airport, allegedly to catch a flight bound for Europe.

She left a tearful Brody Jenner behind, waving goodbye ... or not. The camera panned out to reveal the entire production crew, set and cameramen.

Did The Hills just punk viewers who ate this stuff up for six seasons, then rub their noses in it with an overt F-You to end the last of its 102 episodes?

That's what it felt like!

Brody Jenner and Kristin Cavallari make a good-looking fake couple.

"The thing is, as you saw at the end, what's real, what's fake, you don't know," Jenner said. "Our relationship, the entire time could have been fake. That's one of the questions: what was real and what was fake, and we left it [open]."

Kristin Cavallari said she enjoyed the way the show concluded: "I think we both couldn't have been happier with the ending. We were speechless."

The acting was pretty good, we'll admit.

Their co-star, Lo Bosworth, was equally impressed with the way The Hills finale came to an end: "You know when the last scenes of the show were happening, I got a little [lump] in my throat," she said. "They were great. I loved it."

Come on. While not every aspect of the show is fake (most likely), there's not much interpretation to do about Brody and Kristin. It was all fake, not real.

She's dating a Hills cameraman and knew full well he has been with Avril Lavigne. Which is fine, except that MTV always billed this as a reality show. Now they're admitting they script whatever they want, but with some profound point?

Please.

The entire cast of The Hills, minus the vanquished Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, but including alumni Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port, commemorated the hit MTV series' final episode Tuesday night with one last bash in Hollywood.

So much has changed between The Hills finale and what began as a Laguna Beach spinoff 102 episodes ago. But it was great to see LC back, since she started it all.

On hand were the likes of Kristin Cavallari, Brody Jenner and Audrina Patridge, along with bit players Justin-Bobby, Lo, Stephanie, that Stacie girl and many more.

After six seasons of drama, The Hills ended its run on MTV in appropriate fashion, with cameras panning back to expose just how manufactured that drama is.

More on that in a little bit.

Delux Kristin Pic

Supposedly, Kristin Cavallari is moving to Europe, because she "needs a change." Note: she never went to Europe, and she never pined for Brody Jenner. At all.

Elsewhere, Lo and Scott move in together, Audrina decided to get a new house by the beach, and Stephanie is kinda dating that guy Josh now, if anyone cares.

Nowhere to be found, except dressed like an old man outside the finale party? Spencer Pratt. Here's THG's recap of Tuesday's series finale of The Hills ...

FINAL FOUR: The female stars of The Hills at the series finale party.

Stephanie Pratt tells the girls she is happy with her life, while Audrina Patridge says she's still trying to figure hers out. When is she NOT trying to do that? Minus 4.

Brody plays golf with the guys and says he didn't realize things with Kristin would take the turn they did. Yeah, the scripts are sometimes pretty surprising. Plus 5.

Kristin tells Stacie about Brody's girlfriend and admits she's "bummed." We are too. They won't even mention Avril Lavigne by name, and he can do better. Minus 3.

Lo and Scott move in together. Cute. Plus 6, despite the obvious fact they're just looking to kill time with Stephanie and Lo, bit players for much of the series.

"Bored" Kristin tells Brody she's moving to Europe (LOL) for the summer or maybe longer (ROTFL). Naturally, she's having a big goodbye bash with cameras! Plus 8.

Not even an acknowledgment of Spencer Pratt and/or Heidi Montag, Hills? Where did they even go? Did Adam DiVello have Heidi bumped off? We worry. Minus 20.

HAVE YOU SEEN THIS PERSON? If so, contact local authorities.

Brody finally arrives and says he didn't understand her feelings. Kristin is tearful as Brody says he'll miss her. "Don't leave," he pleads. She wipes a tear away from his supposedly sad face and hugs him. Kristin even says this is a crock. Minus 34.

Audrina isn't going to Kristin's because she wants to move away from the "scene" and avoid bumping into Justin-Bobby. We'd steer clear of the stench too. Plus 7.

Scott to Lo, who he says he would marry right now: "It takes a while to find the right person and you are perfect." Minus 11. Just propose if you're serious, dude.

As Kristin speeds off, cameras focus on Brody with the Hollywood sign behind him ... but it was only a painting, later revealed to show the camera crew and staff. Then the cameras stop rolling, Kristin gets out of the limo and hugs Brody, despite the bull$h!t regarding her leaving. What a giant Eff You to fans. Plus 100.

Last night, fans said goodbye to The Hills as the very last episode of the hit MTV reality show aired. We'll have our full recap of it for you in a little bit.

The sideshow taking place was an entirely different matter. To mark the end of an error era, the cast gathered for a live show broadcast in Hollywood.

Spencer Pratt? Not invited.

Unsurprisingly, the fame-hungry outcast turned up anyway outside the Hotel Roosevelt, disguised in a gray wig and beard, wrinkles and a large gut.

Pretty funny, but also sad that he's resorted to such gimmicks. Desperate for attention much? It's like a pathetic, last gasp at any kind of relevance.

  • Homeless Spencer
  • Old Man Spencer

OLD AND GRAY: The Hills certainly felt that way by the end. Perhaps this is Spencer Pratt's point? Nah, he just wants attention. [Photo: PacificCoastNewsOnline.com]

It wasn't long ago that Spencer caused the commotion. Now he clamors for attention across the street while the real action takes place inside.

Spencer was escorted out by security after trying to enter.

How the mighty have fallen. We're also pretty sure that's his sidekick Emilio Masella, a.k.a. Snooki's ex-boyfriend, behind him and to his right.

Say it ain’t so ... even though we already basically knew! Kristin Cavallari confesses that the relationships you see on The Hills are - gasp - not exactly real. At all.

“Nothing you see on TV is real,” the 23-year-old tells People.

“Fans need to understand that it’s all entertainment," she adds. "It’s all in fun. I would never actually put my close friends or a real relationship on a show.”

Right ... why would a reality show be at all real. Obviously. Gotta love throwing your employer under the bus so blatantly. LeBron James would be proud.

That's basically what's going on here.

After almost a whole season in which Kristin has pined longingly for her ex Brody Jenner, she confesses that just maybe, that wasn't completely genuine.

FAKING IT: Kristin does with all the guys. On The Hills, that is.

Gee, you're kidding. Maybe we would be caught more off guard if we didn't know he was dating Avril Lavigne and she was with cameraman Miguel Medina.

There was also the whole Justin-Bobby thing from last season, which we were expected to buy, as if she would ever hang out with that loser in real life.

But we digress.

It was the "lightheartedness" that drew her back to reality TV after Laguna Beach, she says: “I was hurt by the way I was portrayed on Laguna Beach."

"So I took a break from that kind of stuff ... But when I decided to come back and do The Hills, I told myself that it’s just a job. It’s all work. It’s all fun.”

Indeed. Just don't take it the slightest bit seriously.

Spencer Pratt has been very ... well, non-Spencer Pratt lately.

Uncharacteristically absent from the spotlight, he hasn't been seen in public in over a month, or on The Hills, where he and Heidi Montag were cut loose without any explanation from the show, which ends its six-season run tonight.

Might he be planning a surprise - and unwelcome - public foray this evening? Implying he may crash The Hills finale party, he Tweeted on Tuesday:

“Booking my room @Roosevelt Hotel Hollywood now that I have no place to live I think i should just move in there today (to) stay near the action.”

No place to live? We know he looks like a homeless man, but is Spencer Pratt really out on the street? At least he's comfortable as a mountain man ...

Homeless Man

If Spencer Pratt does crash The Hills' live post-finale bash, we hope he bursts on stage dressed like this. Fingers crossed. [Photo: PacificCoastNewsOnline.com]

Wouldn't you know it, the Hollywood Roosevelt is the site of tonight’s finale party, for which Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag are not on the guest list.

Kristin Cavallari, Brody Jenner and other stars will be on hand, along with the show's two most famous alumnae, Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port.

No Speidi, though, after clashes with Hills creator Adam DiVello on and off set led to an unceremonious, unexplained parting of ways with the show.

Heidi's also moving forward with plans to divorce him, supposedly.

Cavallari calls the situation “sad,” and says as far as she knows, no one has spoken to either member of the duo since they last filmed together.

“I’ve reached out to Heidi,” says Kristin, who fixed up Speidi. “I can’t get a hold of her because she changed her number. I'd love to talk to her.”

As we gear up toward what can only be described as an epic series finale July 13, the penultimate episode of The Hills certainly featured a lot of things going on.

Some of them possibly even real!

Heidi Montag's sister Holly and Darlene Egelhoff, their mom, lamented that Heidi has gone totally off the rails. They've been trying to reach her but can't.

Kristin Cavallari puts it all out there and says she has feelings for Brody Jenner, but he isn't really reciprocating the fake love. Lo and Stephanie also star.

Here's THG's recap of Tuesday's The Hills, "Loves Me Not" ...

O RLY? YA RLY: Brody ignores Kristin and texts "someone else."

Stephanie, Lo and Holly talk about the ca-ra-zy drama that went down in Costa Rica over lunch. Gotta rehash all the details, and totally naturally. Plus 5.

Brody says he's hanging out with a new girl. How come The Hills calls "Ryan Cabrera" by first and last name, yet won't say Avril Lavigne at all? Minus 5.

Brody's friend Josh, who races motorcycles, introduces himself to Stephanie Pratt, and the pair have an instant connection - they don't drink. Plus 4.

Holly Montag picks her mom up from the airport. They'll have to wait for Heidi to come around. Minus 3 for falsely getting our hopes up for Speidi, Hills.

Kristin tells Stacie how Brody wants to talk and it's, like, her chance to finally tell him how she feels. Minus 6, because it's really the producers' chance.

SIDEKICK STEPH: She-Pratt's falling fast and hard for a new man.

Holly tries calling, but her voicemail isn't activated. We're sure that's real, much like Spencer's apology to LC, which she wasn't actually listening to. Minus 5.

Scott surprises Lo on their one year anniversary by asking her if she wants to move in together. Plus 7, because while we really don't care, they're very sweet!

Kristin lays it all out there. Brody says he's sorry, but he's met someone else. Minus 14 because we know this, and Kristin does too, and it's a famous musician.

Nearly lost for words, Darlene tells Holly that since Heidi Montag has been gone, it feels like she's mourning the loss of a child. Not at all melodramatic. Plus 8.

Kristin cries when she tells Lo that Brody rejected her and is seeing someone else. Bull$h!t, since she's dating Miguel Medina, a Hills cameraman! Minus 20.

Lauren Conrad is finally returning to The Hills ... right after it ends.

One week from tonight, the girl who made the MTV reality show a hit will be on hand for the Live Reunion Show after the now-sagging series mercifully goes off the air.

Lauren Conrad Smiles in Blue

The reunion will immediately follow the series finale of The Hills and the season finale of The City. Whitney Port reported the LC news, as well as her own attendance:

"I am so happy to tell you all that I will be attending the reunion, as will Lauren!" Whitney wrote on her official site. "I am so excited to see everyone and catch up."

"I am so excited to see what's next for them," the former Hills star and current City leading lady continued. "It's been so long since we have all been together."

REUNITED: For one night and one night only, next Tuesday.

What remains unclear is whether Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, exiled from the show in recent weeks without notice, will appear between now and July 13.

The gruesome twosome was featured prominently in the first part of this season, but then Spencer went haywire, they supposedly broke up in real life, etc.

It's not clear why, but there has been no explanation of their vanishing from the series. Tonight, the penultimate episode of The Hills airs, followed by The City.

The former will likely focus on Kristin and Audrina's predictably boring romantic drama. Sigh. We can only hope Speidi returns to liven things up one last time.

by Free Britney at . Comments

Last night on The Hills, the crew marked 100 episodes of the MTV show with a trip to Costa Rica, which offered both incredible scenery and crazy hookups.

It was a nice departure from the clubs and lunches we see in L.A., but make no mistake, this was still The Hills, for better or worse, just in a jungle setting.

Here's THG's plus-minus recap of events ...

Immediately after landing, Kristin Cavallari speculates on who's going to hook up on the trip. Plus 18, because that's all they do, and the reason for going.

Kristin tells Stacie that Justin-Bobby is "the one" for Audrina Patridge, but Brody isn't "the one" for her. Are you effin' serious, cue card writers? Minus 7.

When Kristin kissed bartender Will, it irritated Brody Jenner, but didn't get a real rise out of him. Plus 4, as he reacted more like someone kissed his sister.

We used to sort of root for Kristin and Brody Jenner to get back together, but after all this waffling, we're pretty much over it... not unlike Brody. Minus 3.

Wait, were McKaela Line and Allie Lutz get invited? Sucks for them! Plus 7.

Charlie tells Justin-Bobby that he needs to make a move on Audrina. Not coerced by the producers at all. Even, because he does make a move, of sorts ...

You gotta love Justin-Bobby just walking by and randomly grabbing Audrina's ass like the low-class waste of space that he is. Consistent, at least. Plus 7.

Kristin tells Stacie and Taylor (a.k.a. Sleazy T) she's done with Brody after he embarrassed her in the bar. We'll see how long that lasts this time. Minus 4.

Stephanie Pratt serves absolutely zero purpose on the show. Minus 5.

Wow, Brody and Justin-Bobby are actually really good surfers. Plus 4.

Seriously, WTF is Justin-Bobby wearing?! Who rocks a stocking cap and long sleeves in Costa Rica? Minus 8 for lowering the douchebag bar to new depths.

After he invites her out, Kristin and Will dance together in the rain. Which actually does look really fun. We think we need to go to Costa Rica ASAP. Plus 10.

The Kristin-Will thing might seem cool or romantic, but we already know Brody doesn't care, and she's dating Hills cameraman Miguel Medina, so Minus 14.

Kristin and Will kiss. Maybe she's got a future in acting? Plus 5.

J-B asks Audrina if she'll ever come back to Costa Rica. She says, "Not with you." OWNED, but Minus 4 anyway, since she'll always crawl back to this loser.

No Spencer and Heidi? Even on the 100th episode? Minus 16, because as we've said before, the show needs Speidi, and didn't even explain their absence.

Lastly, Plus 8 to push us into positive territory. Why? While a shell of its former self, The Hills still has its moments, and has given us so many memories.

TOTAL: +2. SEASON: -12.

She's dated a number of high-profile fellas, but Kristin Cavallari revealed this morning that she's dating Miguel Medina, a cameraman from The Hills.

"That's not part of the show," Cavallari said when asked about Medina. "Yeah, I'm currently dating [Miguel] and that all I'm going to say about that."

Kristin Cavallari: Short Hair

So basically, Miguel Medina's job is to film The Hills, which features his girlfriend pretending to date other guys. Hey, whatever pays the mortgage.

Hooking up came naturally, she explained.

"Well, when you're together all the time, you're close, and it just sorta happens," Kristin Cavallari told Ryan Seacrest on his radio show earlier today.

The Hills cameraman Miguel Medina gets to stare at Kristin Cavallari all day and gets paid for it. The same is true for our interns, to a lesser extent. Could be worse.

The reality star's former loves include Stephen Colletti, Matt Leinart and Brody Jenner. She also pretended to date that tool Justin-Bobby for a bit.

Along with Stephanie Pratt, Jenner and Hills creator Adam DiVello, Cavallari hyped the 100th episode, airing tonight, plus the series finale July 13.

"Everybody's kind of coming at peace with their stories we've been following," DiVello said. "A few definitely found what they were looking for."

DiVello also said that while they won't be partaking in the bogus drama, the after-show will feature former stars Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port.

The Hills Quotes

Brody's girlfriend is pretty. With very large breasts.

Someone with a great sense of humor is the most important thing, and someone who really supports me in everything I do... I don’t ever want to make an excuse for trying to work hard and having my own life. I love a guy that supports that and loves that.
