On The Flash Season 1 Episode 7, viewers learned a lot more about Dr. Wells and his possibly diabolical plans for Barry.

We also saw Barry lose his powers for a little bit and... ah, who are we kidding? We can't talk about the past any longer.

Not when The Flash is about to crossover with Arrow in an epic two-night event next week!!!

The CW has unveiled an extended promo for The Flash Season 1 Episode 8, which also features scenes from Arrow Season 3 Episode 8, as both these installment will feature our favorite superheroes mixing things up.

It will all start when Oliver comes to Central City (along with Felicity and Diggle) to investigate a case that involves a deadly boomerang.

Things slowed way down on The Flash Season 1 Episode 7, as a new nemesis zapped Barry's abilities; while Dr. Wells’ investment in his protege’s future became just a tad more clear.

Let’s start with the good (?) doctor.Speaking to his robotic assistant, Gideon, Wells observed how the “subject’s” penchant for heroic action is keeping him from realizing all he can real be.

Yes, he referred to Barry as the subject.

He also said “the future remains intact,” as proven by that front page of the 2024 newspaper. Barry simply needs to “kick it up a notch” if he's to use his powers to help larger humanity at large, as opposed to random Central City citizens.

What happens when the fastest man alive suddenly slows.... way... down?

That question will be asked and answered on The Flash Season 1 Episode 7.

Appropriately titled “Power Outage,” next Tuesday’s installment of this CW drama will bring The Clock King over from Arrow and also find The Flash going up against meta-human Blackout.

During their battle, this villain will siphon all of Barry’s super speed, causing Dr. Wells, Caitlin and Cisco to do all they can in order to reverse this effect.

We dipped into Barry Allen's past on The Flash Season 1 Episode 6, as the Villain of the Week turned out to be a grade school bully with whom our hero was once familiar.

We’re talking about a Biff Tannen-esque meathead who is now a meta-human and can turn objects into steel. (Yes, he's a very different kind of Man of Steel.)

This bad guy had the gall to kidnap Iris during the hour, citing her blog while doing so and telling Barry’s friend to give him as much attention as The Streak.

Barry, however, with some scientific help from Caitlin and Cisco, found a way to deal a devastating blow to his nemesis, revving up to a speed of Mach 1.1 after getting a five mile-plus running start.

Viewers met Plastique on The Flash Season 1 Episode 5, a metahuman who was crushed on by Cisco and who ended up dead before the end of the hour.

A significant portion of this installment was actually dedicated to the (former?) friendship between Iris and Barry, but the latter better turn his attention to the next bad guy in line next Tuesday night.

As teased in the above trailer, we'll meet Tony on The Flash Season 1 Episode 6, someone who can turn himself into girded steel at will.

What will it take to bring him down? Cisco offers up the excited answer in this promo.

Iris came face to blurry face with her hero on The Flash Season 1 Episode 5, while Barry Allen picked up a few new tricks from another metahuman he encountered.

Fans were treated to many scenes of Iris blogging about the “streak,” so much so that it earned her a visit from this masked superhero, with Barry vibrating his visage and vocal chords to keep his identity a secret.

There was definitely a Smallville vibe here, wasn’t there? At one point, Iris came across like Lois Lane meeting Superman, even losing her breath out of pure shock and awe.

But then a different kind of emotion took over:

The CW has given fans a very early Christmas present:

Lumps of coal in their television-viewing stockings!

We mostly kid, but the network has come out with its calendar of fall finales, as all programs will take a long hiatus next month, likely returning at some point in February.

Ian Somerhalde in a Tanktop

What will you do with this sudden expansion of free time? Simply watch TV online instead, we presume, though you could spend it with your family... we suppose.

Things were hot and cold on The Flash Season 1 Episode 4.

First, Barry was greeted by the warm presence of Felicity Smoak, as this beloved Arrow character made her way over to Central City.

But then events took a turn for the chilly, thanks to the debut of Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold.

Looking back at the way her romance with Oliver fizzled on Arrow Season 3 Episode 1, it makes sense that Felicity would check to see if there was still a spark between her and Barry.

In the end, the answer was clearly yes. But both also acknowledged that they pined for someone else, ending things with a kiss that seemingly won't lead to more.

The Flash is about to take a serious chill.

Following a villain who turned himself into a dangerous gas on The Flash Season 1 Episode 3, this CW sensation will introduce viewers to Captain Cold on next Tuesday's installment.

Portrayed by former Prison Break star Wentworth Miller, this Big Bad will be the leader of a dangerous group of criminals.

Elsewhere on the installment, Dr. Wells will grow furious when he learns that Cisco has built a new weapon without telling anyone… and now it’s gone missing.

Meanwhile, Iris will receive the silent treatment from her father due to her relationship with Eddie and, oh, yeah FELICITY SMOAK will guest star! Yes!

The nemesis on The Flash Season 1 Episode 3 was a real gas.

Get it?!? Okay, you will after reading our recap...

Easily the best bad guy on the series to date, Barry battled with a death row inmate who can transform into toxic gas this week. However, this villain was also nice and intimidating and full of personality in his regular form.

Through this storyline, what happened to Caitlin’s fiance (and S.T.A.R. Labs engineer), Ronnie:

On the evening of the explosion, he went inside the belly of the malfunctioning beast to make sure its blast would travel upward, as opposed laterally.
