The Hills Whitney Port has a new crew – boyfriend Jay Lyon, to her immediate right, and some other peeps - and she's happy to show them off off at a photo shoot for her upcoming MTV show The City on Wednesday in New York's Meatpacking District.

The City stars Whitney Port and Olivia Palermo attended the Us Weekly Hot in Hollywood 2008 bash recently, where Whitney was honored as Breakout of the Year!
"She's absolutely lovely, I adore her," Olivia Palermo, a prominent N.Y.C. socialite, said of her co-star, whose spin-off of The Hills is set to debut in early 2009.

Yesterday, we posted a trailer for The City. It looks like The Hills, only on the east coast. Which is all good as far as we're concerned. Why not share the love?
We missed her on last night's gripping episode of The Hills.
But we know Whitney Port has moved on to more concrete pastures.
Get it? Because starring on her own show will be more substantive, and because New York City is the concrete jungle, people! Hello? [crickets]

We can't wait to see Lauren Conrad's friend Whitney Port on her own show.
We've known about this for weeks, but MTV has finally announced it officially.
The Hills star Whitney Port will headline a new spin-off, The City, which will track her journey from Los Angeles to New York, the network said.
The show is set to air next spring.
Now an employer of designer Diane Von Furstenberg, Whit reunites with "a best friend from her past" and meets "a guy she's head-over-heels for."
THG NOTE: That would be Olivia Palermo and Jay Lyon, respectively. Maybe.
"Surrounded by new friends, pursuing a fresh love life and starting to work in the upper echelon of the fashion industry is a lot to navigate for a new girl in the big city... especially one who has everything to lose," a press release hauntingly reads.
"In a city full of people with their own agendas, Whitney will have to quickly decide who she can trust and who to stay away from."
In her own statement, Whitney Port said of The City:
"I am thrilled and honored to be in New York City, not only working for one of the most renowned fashion designers, Diane Von Furstenberg, but to be able to mature as a young woman both professionally and personally."
All that's left to say? Move over, Lauren Conrad!
The Hills' Whitney Port is about to become The City's Whitney Port.
As she gears up for her exciting new MTV spinoff (scheduled to kick off early next year), the aspiring fashion designer modeled some cool outfits and talked about her life with celebrity news magazine OK! Here are some excerpts:
On her love life (despite numerous pictures of her romancing Jay Lyon): "I'm not dating anyone right now. I'm not looking either."
On feeling the pressure to stay thin as a young woman in Hollywood: "There are days that I care more than others. Then there are days when you step back and realize you can't always be so presentable,"
On how she stays in shape: "I eat healthy, and I work out a couple of times a week with a trainer. I hike a couple of times a week as well."
On choosing not to move in with pals Lauren Conrad and Audrina Patridge when she had the chance last year: "I've always liked my freedom. So much of my life is not on the show, and I wanted to keep it that way."

Sources have confirmed to E! Online that MTV is officially spinning off The Hills into another reality TV show starring the beautiful Whitney Port.
Emily Brill, the 20-something daughter of Steve Brill, the founder of Court TV (now known as TruTV), blogged about this big news last week:
“Last night, MTV’s The City (The Hills spinoff starring Whitney Port) shot a dinner party scene at [socialite] Olivia Palermo’s apartment. Participants included Whitney Port, Whitney’s boyfriend [Jay Lyon, we presume] and Olivia Palermo.”
We have no idea who Olivia Palermo is, really, other than a New York socialite who dates Brad Leinhardt (a.k.a. The Golden Jew). We also have no idea if she will be a co-star on The City or just happened to be in this one scene.

The City will apparently follow Whitney Port as she leaves L.A. and begins working for celebrity fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg in New York City.
It is set to begin airing in early 2009, supposedly, although MTV has not officially said this. Nor have Lauren Conrad and friends on The Hills.
