Last night on The Bachelor, Matt Grant met the family of Shayne Lamas - as well as the families of her competition, Chelsea, Noelle, and Amanda.

Matt visited Shayne Lamas' family first and meets her parents separately, since they are divorced. Sadly, A.J. Lamas does not appear.

When she meets her quasi-famous dad, Lorenzo Lamas, he blurts out to Matt Grant that Shayne was just interested in getting on TV when she decided to go on The Bachelor. We're startled to hear this revelation, competely.

Shayne quickly tries to defend herself, saying that she is only there for him. It seems to be good enough for both Matt Grant and for her father Lorenzo, who appreciate what she has to say about herself and her feelings.

Lamas, Shayne

Would Shayne Lamas receive one of the final three roses on this night?

On his date with Chelsea, Matt explains to her family just how serious he is about finding love. After a nice, relaxing meal, Matt heads out - but not before Chelsea says she is falling for him and enjoys time with him.

With Noelle, the two go hiking and ride horses in Colorado. Very pretty. Noelle's family is approving of Matt, but ask tough questions, and Matt is forced to admit that he is falling in love with her - but also with more than one woman.

Finally, Matt Grant visits Amanda, who in a colossal prank, hired actors to play her parents. Her father asked uncomfortable questions as her mother tried to hit on him. When the gag was revealed, Matt was a good sport.

At the rose ceremony, Matt gave roses to Shayne Lamas, then to Amanda and lastly to Chelsea. Matt decided to eliminate Noelle, feeling that their connection came too late. She took the news well by Bachelor standards.

As warm weather begins to coat the east coast in sunshine, so does the television dial begin to heat the hearts of viewers with new and exciting programming.

Because we aim to deliver more than just mundane celebrity gossip, here's our look at what couch potatoes can sit back and enjoy this evening:

Gossip Girl: It's back!!! Without the backstabbing actions of Blair, the shady shenanigans of Chuck and the uber-hotness of Serena, our lives have felt emptier over the past few months than K-Fed's bank account after a late-night trip to Scores in Las Vegas; or Heidi Montag's soul; or a Fiji water bottle on a sweltering afternoon in LA.

Tremendous metaphors aside, the point remains: Gossip Girl is back tonight with new episodes. We're giddier than Kim Kardashian at a sale for extra large thongs.

Dancing with the Stars: Despite the fact that Kristi Yamguchi is a heavier favorite on this show than either David Cook or David Archuleta on American Idol, we still tune in every night. Our dream is for a staffer from The Hollywood Gossip to be included on Dancing with the Stars one day.

We'd rumba circles around Perez Hilton.

The Bachelor: How will Shayne Lamas embarrass herself this week? How many swoons and tears will Matt Grant be responsible for over a period of one hour? So many questions. So many desperate, pathetic women.

WWE RAW: A special three-hour presentation of the WWE's flagship show promises a showdown in the ring between Barack Obama and Hilary Clinton. If it's anything like last week's debate on ABC, John McCain will be declared the winner.

The Hills: This show revolves around spoiled, beautiful socialites named Lauren Conrad, Heidi Montag and Audrina Patridge. Tonight - as a bonus - Justin "Bobby" Brescia reportedly makes his return! What's not to love about him (everything)?

The Hills couples: Heidi and Spencer; Audrina and Justin-Bobby.

Picking up where we left off last week on The Bachelor, six girls remain and all are headed to meet Matt Grant in Sun Valley, Idaho for some fun in the snow.

Matt gets a horse-drawn sleigh to take Chelsea on a romantic ride, but she says she hates public displays of affection and holding hands. Lame.

She tried to show Matt Grant her romantic side, though, by inviting herself up to his suite, where the two shared a long, romantic kiss. Hot.

Matt took Marshana, Shayne Lamas, Robin, and Amanda for a day of skiing. Marshana was terrible skier and spent most of her time face down.

Later, Matt took some time with Shayne Lamas, who proved a very skilled skier, and stole some kisses, too. This girl's totally gonna win.

Robin interrupted and asked why she didn't get a one on one date. He tells her he felt that he already had a strong connection with her.

Shayne Lamas Photo

Shayne Lamas (left) and the others await Matt Grant's decision.

When Matt Grant took the girls to a hot tub in the snow, Amanda grabbed him and pulled him away for a few minutes, to steal some kisses.

On his date with Noelle, hearing about the serious car accident that Noelle was in and her take on life in general really made Matt fall for her.

When Marshana says she knows how Matt lives, Chelsea and Robin gang up on her. Chelsea says Marshana doesn't really want to be on the show.

The claws come out as everyone wants time with Matt Grant - and a rose.

Matt Grant was left with a tough decision in this rose ceremony, with the home town dates just one episode away, and two girls to send a-packin'.

He chose to give roses to Shayne Lamas, Noelle, Chelsea, and Amanda. Nice! Therefore, he has eliminated Robin and Marshana. We are down to four!

In strange but notable Bachelorette news, Trista Sutter's husband, Ryan Sutter, is sharing some of his best secrets of fatherhood in a new column.

"Even when you're about to breastfeed, we get turned on because we're guys and we just see boobs," Ryan Sutter says in his column for MomLogic.com, which is entitled "10 Things You Don't Know About Dads."

THG NOTE: We certainly enjoy a good boob (as naked Lucy Pinder photos will prove to you) but we can't say we agree with Ryan on this one.

Ryan Sutter

While Ryan Sutter admits to sometimes wearing sunglasses to check out the "cute 25-year-olds who walk by," he advises: "It's really sexy when you have no makeup on. Honestly, we prefer less makeup and seeing you in casual clothes."

Ryan Sutter also admits that fathers fake ignorance about "poopy diapers" to "let you discover it" and that "sometimes we feel fat."

[NOTE to Matt Grant and Shayne Lamas when the time comes!]

Ryan and Trista Sutter - still the only happy couple in the storied history of The Bachelor or The Bachelorette - have an eight-month-old son, Max.

On last night's episode of The Bachelor, Kelly, Chelsea, Shayne, Ashlee, Noelle, and Robin receive the "first date box" from Matt Grant.

As a result, the girls take to the tennis court to take on Matt. Ashlee sings, Kelly flashes, and Shayne Lamas, never to be outdone, does handsprings.

Robin grabs Matt Grant's attention when she displays her knowledge for tea and British culture, and Shayne confronts her for not playing fair. Robin cries.

Chelsea leaves with the rose, though - snap.

Amanda finds out that she'll get a one on one date with Matt. The evening is '50s style, complete with wardrobe and a classic car and stuff.

The two head to a diner, where she gives Matt dancing lessons. He's a dreadful dancer but the two have a great time and she gets a rose.

Another night of playing sports and dating hot chicks for Matt Grant.

Marshana and Holly join Matt for a dramatic two-on-one date. In somewhat of a surprise move, he sends Holly home and gives Marshana the rose.

At the cocktail party, Matt Grant tells the women how serious he is about finding the woman he is going to spend the rest of his life with. Ooooh.

At the rose ceremony, Amanda, Chelsea, and Marshana are already safe. Our man Matt Grant will hand out three more roses and send two home.

He gives those roses to Shayne Lamas, Robin, and Noelle. That means Ashlee and Kelly (along with Holly) are outta here. It's terribly sad for them.

On The Bachelor last night, host Chris Harrison informs the girls that there will be one group date and two one-on-one dates. If the lucky lady does not receive a rose on her one-on-one date, though, she will immediately be sent home.

Holly is the first to receive an invitation to a private date with Matt - a private premiere of the new Patrick Dempsey movie, Made of Honor.

Before they could head in to watch the movie, they faced an onslaught of faux celebrity news media, answering questions and posing for pics.

The two cuddled in the theater. After the film, Matt Grant took Holly back to a hotel room where he tried to get a handle on her feelings for him.

Matt worried that they were too comfortable with each other and maybe, were even missing a spark, but a little later on, they ended up in the hot tub together where they made out. Matt Grant gave Holly a rose. HOT!

Ten women find out that they'll be heading on a group date to play rugby. The only woman not invited was Shayne Lamas, who got a one-on-one date.

Matt was impressed with how the women played and invited them to his place for a party. There, Matt spent some time with Robin and kissed her in the hot tub. He also made his way into a room with Kelly, where he got a massage.

Grant. Matt Grant.

At the end of this sexy night, Matt Grant decided to give out a rose to Robin, for impressing him both on and off the rugby field. Nice!

Next, Matt headed out on his one-one date with ca-razy Shayne, where she finally revealed that her dad is Lorenzo Lamas (and brother is AJ Lamas)!

Matt Grant said he has concerns that because she's an actress, her intentions are not sincere. Shayne Lamas changed his mind and the two kissed.

Ultimately, he gave Shayne Lamas a rose, meaning Holly, Robin, and Shayne are already safe pre-ceremony. Matt Grant hands out the remaining roses to:

  1. Amanda
  2. Ashlee
  3. Kelly
  4. Chelsea
  5. Noelle
  6. Marshana

Kristine, Erin S., and Amy are eliminated from The Bachelor at this time, their dreams of marrying a trophy husband shattered on national TV. Sad.

All reality TV show contestants entertain us in their own ways, but we may truly have something special and unique in Shayne Lamas from The Bachelor.

She's Lorenzo Lamas' daughter, for one, but it goes beyond that. There is a longing, a desperation to be famous lingering deep within Shayne Lamas that defies even the lofty expectations set forth by appearing on The Bachelor at all.

She made her mark early on this season, emerging as one of the more insane assertive girls during the cocktail party premiere of The Bachelor.

That was just her getting warmed up.

During Monday night's episode, Shayne went all-in at a competition in Las Vegas in which the girl who won the most money got a date with Matt Grant.

She lost all her money instantly. Then cried about it.

Shayne Lamas complained, fighting back tears all the way, about how she's having such a hard time sharing Matt Grant with all the other girls.

She even pulled Matt aside and whined about how awful it is - it's just breaking her heart, people - for her to share a man. *whimper*

A man she's talked to for about 14 minutes in life. On a reality show.

She decided she's going to stay on the show, because she "might have feelings" for Matt Grant. She definitely has them for fame.

We salute you, Shayne Lamas. Keep up the good work

On the second episode of this season of The Bachelor, the first group of women receive a date box and find out they'll be going to a runway show.

When Ashlee, Kristine, Marshana, Noelle, Michelle, Amanda, Erin H, and Holly arrive at a destination, they find out they'll be the ones modeling the clothing.

The next group of ladies - Amy, Carri, Chelsea, Erin S., Kelly, Robin, and Shayne Lamas - head to Las Vegas. Matt Grant tells them that they have 30 minutes to gamble and win themselves as much money as possible.

The woman with the most money wins a 30-minute date with Matt Grant.

How did Matt Grant make his decision and pare down the field?

Did Shayne Lamas make it? Who was this week's Stacey Elza?

Stacey Elza, who was rejected on the season premiere of The Bachelor on Monday, nonetheless made quite an impression on Matt Grant and viewers.

But she says she didn't give Matt her "real" panties.

On Monday's The Bachelor: London Calling, the Chicago graduate student, 26, slipped Grant, 27, her underwear "to spice things up a little bit."

"I'm spontaneous, outgoing," she added, "and I figured, why not?"

It didn't work.

Matt Grant dispatched Stacey Elza as well as nine other would-be ex-fiancees Monday night, remarking that "I don't give a $h!t what country you're from, that is not cool." It's difficult to argue with that kind of logic.

Stacey Elza

Stacey Elza's creative move failed to woo Matt Grant.

But at least they were, um, washed.

"For the record, they were an extra pair," Stacey Elza added.

"They did not literally come off my body."

That's certainly nice to know... and at the same time a little disappointing. Oh well. Also on Monday, fortunately, Shayne Lamas made the cut.

Former star of The Bachelor Byron Velvick has gotten past a violent, late-2007 fight that resulted in a jailed, strung-out Mary Delgado mug shot.

"We're going day by day, on our own time," the pro fisherman, 43, says of life with his fiancée in the newest issue of Us Weekly.

Aren't they sweet? Matt Grant, this kind of happiness is what you're up against in your search for love on The Bachelor this spring ...

Byron Velvick, Mary Delgado Photos

These lovely photos show The Bachelor couple in a state of marital bliss. Or at least bliss. No couple from 11 seasons of the show has actually gotten married. None.

The couple, who got engaged after she won the final rose on TV back in 2004, are going strong these days despite a pre-Thanksgiving fight â€" Mary wanted to stay out later, Byron was ready to call it a night â€" that resulted in Delgado being arrested and charged with assault. Naturally. Charges were later dropped.

"You weather through stuff, work harder," Velvick says, "and you come to a better understanding if the love is real.

Adds Mary Delgado: "He's awesome."

Just don't cross her again.
