While her dating life has been scrutinized - she publicly broke up with Joe Jonas and she was pimped out to Jonathan Cook - the professional life of Taylor Swift has never been better.

In fact, she was the top-selling artist in the world in 2008.

The beautiful country star reacts to that fact in the latest issue of Glamour. She says:

"It just blows my mind, because I’ve been trying to do this all my life. I remember the girls who would come to talent shows and say to anyone they met, 'I’m so-and-so - I’m going to be famous someday.' I was never that girl. I would show up with my guitar and say, “This is a song I wrote about a boy in my class.” And that’s what I still do today."

In the interview, Swift also touches on insecurities and any future relationships:

On celebrity body issues: I think the reason a lot of celebrities feel insecure and want to stop eating altogether is because they see so many pictures of themselves on a daily basis. It’s unhealthy how many times you see your own image. When you see something enough, you’re going to tear it down to the point where some days you feel like you’re not even pretty.

On dating: It’s always going to be long-distance, even if I date the boy who lives next door to me in Nashville. I’ll be flying to see him and flying him places to see me. It feels like it would involve more scheduling, and I already deal with a lot of scheduling in my life. Of course, if I met somebody who was worth it, I would probably stop thinking that way!

Singer and actress Selena Gomez wants to take on new role: matchmaker!

The 16-year-old starlet is trying to set up her BFF, Taylor Swift.

Her target? Pal and fellow musician Jonathan Cook.

Her plan is already coming together. Gomez already introduced the country crooner and the Forever the Sickest Kids frontman via iChat - and it's working!

Calling Swift his "celebrity crush," Cook gushed: "She is gorgeous... She is an amazing songwriter, and I can relate to her not only as a musician but also as a writer."

"Plus, she seems so down-to-earth, I always root for her as a fan!"

We root for her too. Anyone who's seen Swift and T-Pain in their "thug story" video knows she has a sense of humor to match her considerable talent.

Selena Gomez, who is featured on the Forever the Sickest Kids' track "Whoa Oh," doesn't go easy on Jonathan Cook in the romance department.

"Selena suggests girls for me to date," Cook said, adding that as a caveat, "she has told me she has to approve of any girls that I date."

As for any reverse matchmaking opportunities he has planed?

"I've suggested that she date Shia LeBeouf," Cook said.

Taylor Swift teamed up with T-Pain for a funny rap collaboration called “Thug Story,” spoofing her hit song “Love Story” and kicking off the 2009 CMT awards.

One of country music's biggest (and least controversial) stars may have gone gangsta, but she still has fun with her own squeaky-clean image with lines like:

• “You can find me baking cookies at night. You out clubbin’? But I just made caramel delights!”
• “You don’t wanna fight me ... in my extra-small white T.”
• “You can call me T-Sweezy.”

Over the weekend, Taylor Swift performed for the audience that adores her the most: fans in the country music capital of the world, Nashville, Tennessee.

The young beauty rocked out at LP Field for the 2009 Country Musica Awards Music Festival. Aware of her good fortune, Swift told a local newspaper:

“I get tired but I don’t get tired of it. When I was a little kid I remember sitting there thinking how lucky I would be if someday people cared about the words I wrote, and when you spend so much time daydreaming about that, I don’t complain. "

Should Taylor Swift make the move to rap?

Simply put, Joe Jonas thinks Camilla Belle is better than Taylor Swift.

The musician began dating the brunette actress soon after a contentious break up with the beautiful singer; very, very soon after, according to Swift, who has blamed her and Jonas' demise on his relationship with Belle.

Now, Joe and his siblings are firing back at the popular young country star.

While the singer/songwriter has come under fire for writing "Forever and Always" about her breakup with Joe Jonas, she tells the new issue of Seventeen that she had no choice.

"Writing songs about people is the only way I know how to do things. I mean, I can’t wish I hadn’t written a song about someone, because if I hadn’t, that song wouldn’t exist. I just don’t find any joy in writing about things I haven’t been through," Swift said.

Will Swift steer clear of personal lyrics in the future? Don't count on it.

"Right now, my favorite thing to write about is love. And breakups. And boys. And feelings."

That's not a request, it's a direct order from the cute blonde herself: Taylor Swift really does not want you sitting there, thinking about her naked.

Seriously, she already said this to Rolling Stone. Now she's reiterating her point to Allure - she's fine talking dating, but no questions about sex.

"It's fine to talk about love publicly," the 19-year-old singer says, "but I think when you talk about virginity and sex publicly, people just automatically picture you naked. So as much as I can prevent people picturing me naked, I'm going to."

Still, Taylor Swift thinks a lot about dating, especially its impact on her songwriting. Even a bad relationship can be a point of inspiration.

"Let's say I date a guy who does nothing but damage me," she says. "You've spent time, spent effort, put everything into trying to make that work, and it didn't. So you write a song about it. It was worth everything if you write a song about it."

Many of Swift's songs have romantic overtones, and she lists fairy tales as an inspiration: "I have always been fascinated with fairy tales, and the idea that Prince Charming is just one castle away," the country star said.

Despite her love of a happy ending, the singer says the flip side can be more appealing: "For some reason, I could never stop writing songs about heartbreak. Just because as human beings, what we can't have is what we replay in our head."
