Tameka Foster Speaks Out, Doesn't Say Very Much

The embattled Tameka Foster is finally speaking out about the swirl of rumors surrounding her canceled wedding to R&B singer Usher last Saturday.

"No one knows why we canceled the wedding, but I can tell you that all of the reasons that everyone is speculating and writing about are untrue," a defiant Foster told People.

The Expecting Couple She declined to reveal more about why the nuptials were abruptly called off.

Sources say that at the crux of the situation were family matters (Usher's mom and former manager, Jonetta Patton, was against the wedding) and fights between the bride and groom over wedding details.

Foster, 37, who is now in Atlanta (as is Usher, 28) does address one rumor that spread on local radio stations and blogs - that following Saturday's canceled ceremony, she was hospitalized and in pre-term labor.

"We had a scare," she says. "But, I am fine and the baby is fine."

The couple announced back in June (to the great dismay of many irate Usher fans) that they were expecting their first child together, due this fall.

Tameka Foster and Usher's nuptials were scheduled to take place this past Saturday in Long Island's Hamptons, at the residence of Island Def Jam CEO L.A. Reid.

But hours before the scheduled ceremony, the 70-100 guests expected to attend Usher's wedding were notified that it wasn't taking place as planned.

At the time, a publicist for the R&B singer, Patti Webster, said in a statement:

"It was announced today that the wedding of Usher Raymond IV and Tameka Foster has been canceled. No additional information will be given regarding the circumstances of the cancellation, but we hope the privacy of this matter will be respected."

Perez Hilton: Tameka Foster in Labor

Perhaps the stress of her non-wedding debacle got to Tameka Foster.

Citing a deluge of emails from readers in the Atlanta area - home to the baby-faced R&B god and music mogul we know as Usher - Perez Hilton reports that his 37-year-old, pregnant fiancee has been hospitalized since yesterday.

The speculation? Tameka Foster is in pre-term labor.

Local radio stations in Atlanta are reporting that Usher's future bride, who he almost married Saturday, has been at the hospital since mid-day Sunday.

Tameka Foster: In Labor?

Usher, 28, and Foster were supposed to wed Saturday, until it was abruptly called off - apparently for many reasons, some frivolous and others … slightly less frivolous.

Our celebrity news readers, by and large, are not fans of Tameka Foster. But this news, if substantiated, would be very sad. What do you think. Are you buying it?

Details Behind the Usher & Tameka Foster Non-Wedding

As Usher fans celebrated the fact that their man did not go through with marrying Tameka Foster, celebrity gossip outlets were left with one question: Why?!?

At issue, reportedly, were family disagreements and the event itself.

Tusher"Usher's mother [and former manager, Jonetta Patton, whom he fired in May] is against the wedding. That is one of the main obstacles," a source told People magazine, who also added: "They only decided two weeks ago to have a wedding. They wanted to have it take place before the baby bump started showing."

Right. That's always awkward. The couple could not pull it off, though - and now the canceled wedding is getting almost as much attention as the Lindsay Lohan drunk driving case.

Usher and Foster, a stylist, also "had a lot of differences about the details. For example, the bride wanted barbeque, [and] he wanted to have [renowned chef] Jean Georges cook," said the source.

As a result of the differences, the wedding "was on again off again for the past few days. [Foster] was calling it off because she wasn't getting the things that she wanted. The mother was calling it off. ... Usher was calling it off."

Heck, Kate Middleton even called it off. Just kidding.

On Saturday, only hours before the afternoon ceremony was to take place at the Southampton, N.Y., estate of music mogul L.A. Reid, Usher's publicist Patti Webster issued the following statement:

"It was announced today that the wedding ceremony for Usher Raymond IV and Tameka Foster was canceled. No additional information will be given regarding the circumstances of the cancellation, but we hope the privacy of this matter will be respected."

According to the New York Post, the 70 to 100 guests who needed to be informed there was to be no wedding included couples Beyoncé and Jay Z, as well as Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupri.

"The tents were up," an insider said. "And they paid all of the people, the vendors, so that wasn't an issue. ... Hotel rooms were an issue. Janet [Jackson] was coming, but she had eight security people. Ashanti and Nelly were coming."The source added that it was a possibility that the wedding may still come off. On Saturday, however, Webster would not comment on whether Usher and Foster were still engaged or even remained a couple.

So, fans, do you think these two will make it to the altar? Or are they headed the way of Diddy and Kim Porter instead?

On Second Thought: Usher and Tameka Foster NOT to Get Married Today

Remember that piece of celebrity gossip we revealed about two hours ago?

It's been taken back. All of a sudden, People magazine is reporting that Usher and Tameka Foster are no longer getting married today.

Originally planned for this in New York's Hamptons region, the event has been canceled, a representative for Usher confirms.

Wedding Woes

A source also says that the 70 to 100 guests who were expected at the wedding are being advised that the event will not take place as originally planned. We haven't been this off guard by a turn of event since Nick Lachey nude photos hit the Web.

But, seriously, folks: In a statement to the Associated Press, publicist Patti Webster said:

"It was announced today that the wedding ceremony for Usher Raymond IV and Tameka Foster was canceled. No additional information will be given regarding the circumstances of the cancellation, but we hope the privacy of this matter will be respected."

So are they still engaged? Still seeing each other?

We have no further information on the matter at this time. But, fear not, readers: We'll provide you with this answer, along with the identity of that dude tanging the heck out of Lauren Conrad, as soon as we know more.

Usher to Marry Tameka Foster... Today!

This may come as worse celebrity news to many readers than some random woman taking Blake Lewis off the market:

Wedding Bells Usher will marry Tameka Foster at record executive LA Reid's home in New York's Hamptons later this afternoon. Despite rumors of her problems with the union, Usher's mom, Jonetta Patton, will be among the 70 to 100 guests expected at the private, outdoor celebration.

Fans of The Hollywood Gossip have written in for months with complaints about Tamkea Foster. They hate her more than Simon Monjack!

The reasons for this? Tameka is older and not as good looking as Usher.

This stylist, who has worked with Lauryn Hill and Toni Braxton, also has three children with her ex-husband. Her and Usher are also expecting, just as Trisa Sutter and Ryan were before welcoming Maxwell Alson into the world this week.

The soon-to-be bride is trying to look on the bright side, however. She knows that her and Asia Nitollano are two of the most despised celebrities out there.

"He just accepted me for who I am," Foster, told Essence.com last month about her relationship with Usher. "I have flaws, I have an attitude problem. ... Overall, I have issues that a person could either love or hate, but he accepted me completely. And every day he still treats me like we just met.

Usher Fan Site: Target of Ire, Hater of Tameka Foster

We hope Usher doesn't try to shut down this celebrity gossip site next.

The singer is on a mission to quell all negative talk surrounding his fiancee, Tameka Foster. And there's a whole lot of it!

It's even emanating from Usher's number-one fan site, usherforever.com. The woman behind the site, Erika Jackson, doesn't seem to care for Foster. And she's unafraid to express that view, sort of like how we aren't scared to call out Britney Spears on her poor parenting.

"He's had his lawyer send her papers," an insider said of Usher's actions.

Hated Couple

Hands off! Tameka Foster makes it clear Usher is all hers.

Tameka has proved unpopular with many fans. She's reportedly fired her man's mother, Jonetta Patton, as his manager and has the audacity to have been married before. She's a regular Simon Monjack!

Usher penned an open letter recently regarding the flak the couple has receiving, saying: "It's disturbing that the media and bloggers (under the guise as 'fans') continuously speculate on the personal aspects of my life."

The talk seems to have affected the singer's career, too. The New York Daily News says Usher is likely to miss an August deadline to deliver his next album, meaning it won't be available in gift-friendly November.

However, a spokeswoman for Jive Records said a release date had never been set.

The truth probably lies somewhere in between. But we do know this: Alexis Phifer is getting off easy compared to the wrath Foster has endured.

Usher to Fans, Celebrity News Outlets: Give Tameka Foster a Break!

It's hard to say who celebrity gossip readers hate more: Spencer Pratt or Tameka Foster?

Okay, the answer is most likely the awful fiance of Heidi Montag. But the woman Usher is set to marry isn't exactly a fan favorite, either.

Therefore, the singer felt the need to pen an open letter to People magazine in which he defended his relationship and criticized all the false celebrity news out there regarding it.

Usher Pic One issue: The report by the New York Post that the couple is planning to marry at the end of July in the Hamptons. While Usher won't divulge a wedding date, he says: "Since my wedding day will be special to Tameka and I, this is information that we would like to keep private."

Another topic is radio host Tom Joyner's claim that Usher threatened him. According to the New York Daily News, Joyner said Usher threatened to "whup my a--" after he joked about rumored tension between Foster and Usher's mother, Jonetta Patton. Says Usher: "I have never threatened or harassed anyone from any media format."

Finally, Usher wants to make it clear that Foster is not running his life; she isn't the alcohol to his Britney Spears. If you can follow that metaphor.

"I am happy, excited, completely clear and independent on my direction, feelings, decisions and I am not being led."

The full text of Usher's letter follows:

"It has already been announced that I plan to marry this year. However, since my wedding day will be special to [Tameka Foster] and I, this is information that we would like to keep private. It's disturbing that the media and bloggers (under the guise as 'fans') continuously speculate on the personal aspects of my life, therefore making assumptions and wrong insinuations that my fans are subject to believe.

Tameka Foster and Usher: Expecting!!!

What was previously celebrity gossip can now be classified as celebrity news: Tameka Foster is pregnant.

Just a week after hinting that babies could be in the future for herself and Usher, the engaged couple has announced to the Associated Press and People that they're expecting their first child together, due in the fall.

The Expecting Couple

"We are extremely excited at this point in our lives planning our wedding and the joy that comes with expecting our first child together," Usher and Foster said in a statement released to the Associated Press Wednesday. "We hope people will be happy for us and respect our privacy during this happy period in our lives."

A controversial fianceee, Tameka Foster hasn't exactly been welcomed the arms of her true love's fans. They call her a gold-digger and an ugly person, insults typically reserved for Heather Mills.

"What people don't realize is that Usher and I were friends for nearly seven years and I worked as his personal stylist for five years. I was the only female friend he felt he could talk to," Tameka recently told Essence magazine, as she tried to defend their relationship.

When asked about plans for babies like little Sam Alexis Woods, Foster added: "Yes, I do plan to have children with Usher. This is the man I love and plan to spend the rest of my life with, so why wouldn't I want to share that bond of bringing another life into this world with him?"

This will be the fourth child for Foster as she attempts to rival Shar Jackson for largest litter.

How will Usher's fans react to the news? Probably as well as Trista Sutter reacted to the idea of cameras filming her pregagncy.

Tameka Foster: The Interview

Tameka Foster is hated on.

We're talking about someone that almost makes Simon Monjack seem appealing to most our readers.

It's hard to pinpoint the exact reason, but fans of Usher believe he's making a grave mistake by marrying this supposed home wrecker. With that in mind, Essence magazine sat down with Tameka recently.

Essence.com: Do you and Usher spend a lot of time together?
Tameka Foster: Usher and I are friends. We are road dogs. We hang out like friends. We shop, laugh, work out, get mad in the middle of the day about what we want to eat, debate about what's fattening in a smoothie and just do regular things.

Tameka Foster PicEssence.com: How does Usher get along with your three sons?
Foster: Usher loves my children. My ex-husband and I have joint custody. It's a wonderful arrangement that allows me time to do things with Usher one-on-one and to spend time with the kids. I'm not looking for a father for my kids because they have one. They just happen to be lucky enough to have two strong men in their lives.

The Hollywood Gossip note: Critics treat Tameka worse than other famous fiancees, such as Alexis Phifer, because they believe she is looking for a new, rich father for her kids.

Essence.com: You've been labeled a "poor mom" because, supposedly, you're never with the kids. Your reaction?
Foster: Do you think Usher would really be engaged to a woman who would leave her kids? My children are with us much more than people think. They've gone to the Bahamas with us and attended play-off games. I purposely keep my children out of view. I don't want them scrutinized and talked about because that would be a problem. Everyone wants to know, "Where are her kids?" Out of these pictures, that's where.

The Hollywood Gossip note: It's a course of action Britney Spears tried to use with Jayden James, too.

Essence.com: Shifting gears a bit, is it true that Usher's mom fired you as his stylist and you in turn convinced Usher to fire her as his manager?
Foster: I never worked for Usher's mom; I worked for Usher. Now, I don't know if she persuaded him to feel certain ways about me, but she never fired me.

Essence.com: So does that mean you and future mother-in-law have beef?
Foster: No, we do not. Any mother with a son as successful as Usher is going to have raised eyebrows about any woman who comes around. I'd be the same way about any one of my sons. His mother and I have a great rapport. There are no hard feelings and I had nothing to do with his decision to no longer have his mother manage him.

So there you have it, people. Are you still against Tameka? Might she get a bad rap? Or, like Blake Fielder-Civil, is it just normal for those marrying celebrities to face a bit of scrutiny?

Controversial Couples Watch: Usher and Tameka Foster, Isaiah Washington and Wife

Not every Hollywood couple is as beloved as Francois-Henri Pinault and Salma Hayek.

Some pairings generate a great deal of controversy among celebrity gossip followers. Perhaps none more so than Usher and Tameka Foster.

Usher and Tameka

Recently, the engaged twosome were shopping for sunglasses at the Solstice Sunglass Boutique in Beachwood, Ohio. The sexy singer bought five new pairs of aviator shades, all of which he had the chance to model at the recent 30th birthday party for good friend Kanye West.

Usher and Tameka were just two of the numerous guests in attendance, as West and fiancee Alexis Phifer actually performed together.

Jenisa and Isaiah Washington Also appearing as a united front in public last week? Isaiah Washington and his wife, Jenisa.

Days before the actor was dropped from Grey's Anatomy, People magazine reports that he and his lady dined at Santa Monica's One Pico restaurant at the Shutters on the Beach hotel, enjoying an ocean view at their table as they talked passionately over red wine and Pellegrino.

Maybe they were even talking about another celebrity couple that's hated on by the public.

After all, if Isaiah can go off on T.R. Knight, it's easy to see him bashing the heck out of Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, isn't it?

Let's just hope he left Ellen Pompeo and Chris Ivery alone. Those two have enough to deal with as they battle her anorexia rumors.
