Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback and bona fide NFL legend Joe Montana made an appearance at the 2013 Super Bowl in a commercial for Tide.

Montana showed up as a "miracle" stain in Tide's ad, during which a guy spills food on his white Montana Jersey and a perfect likeness of Joe's face appears.

Soon after comes the press conference, news stories and everyone making a huge deal out of it. Surprisingly, Montana did not make an actual cameo.

There was a blackout, a nearly incredible comeback and a controversial VW ad some consider racist.

But the impression many viewers were left with following XLVII was an unusual commercial that aired in the fourth quarter for Dodge Ram.

It lasted two minutes and it featured Paul Harvey intoning that God needed "somebody willing to get up before dawn, milk cows, work all day in the field, milk cows again, eat supper, then go to town and stay past midnight at a meeting of the school board..." so He made a farmer.

Coke's new Super Bowl ad is being called racist by some. Why?

The ad depicting an Arab walking through the desert with a camel and confronting cowboys, showgirls and other characters has drawn the ire of Arab-American groups.

"Why is it that Arabs are always shown as either oil-rich sheiks, terrorists, or belly dancers?" said Warren David, president of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee.

There's also the fact that in its Super Bowl ad, Coke asks viewers to vote online on which character(s) should win this race for a mythical bottle of Coke.

Viewers cannot vote for the Arab character.

The extended version of Mercedes' 2013 Super Bowl Commercial has been released, and does not lack for star power ... starting with Willem Dafoe.

Following 2012's popular Star Wars-themed Super Bowl commercial, VW is trying a different tack in 2013.

A much happier one!

The car company has already released its ad for the big game and it features Jimmy Cliff singing "C'Mon, Get Happy," while many viral stars from the past year - Crying Cat Girl, Sad Football Fans and others - stroll along the sunny lawn and realize that life really isn't so terrible.
