The same day as Nashville police revealed that slain former NFL star Steve McNair carried on an affair with a second mistress, Leah Ignagni, his text messages to the mistress who shot and killed him have been made public for the first time.

More than 50 text messages between McNair and Kazemi were exchanged in the hours before police say she shot him to death and turned the gun on herself.

The McNair texts support authorities' theory that she was out of control.

Nashville police released the findings last night as part of a case summary and detailed the texts sent in the two hours before the July 4 murder-suicide.

Sahel Kazemi texted Steve McNair July 3 to ask for $2,000 to pay bills. She said she might need to go to a hospital because she could hardly breathe.

Police say texts show McNair had someone transfer her the money. Txts also show Kazemi meeting McNair at the Nashville condo where he was shot.

He asked her to leave the front door open for him.

In response to a CBS report questioning the results of the Nashville police investigation, the department released its information, and spokesman Don Aaron said “there has been nothing uncovered that suggests this is not a murder-suicide.”

The CBS report Monday interviewed friends portraying Sahel Kazemi as happy and showed that she had about $2,500 in her account when she died.

Kazemi’s texts to Steve McNair talk of her showing furniture she planned to sell to some people and how she was at a store “trying to fix” her cell phone.

McNair texted her to say he had someone transfer the money she needed. Kazemi later texted McNair three more times asking to be with him that night.

According to Nashville, Tenn., police, Leah Ignagni was dating the late NFL star Steve McNair at the time of his July 4 murder at the hands of lover Sahel Kazemi.

The other other woman recalled seeing a woman in a black Cadillac Escalade parked outside his condo 2-3 weeks before his murder. It is not clear who owns it.

However, Leah Ignagni also said the woman followed her and that she later saw the Escalade circling her block or parked outside her apartment 1-2 weeks later.

A 2007 black Escalade was co-registered to Sahel Kazemi and Steve McNair.

This backs up earlier case details that stated Kazemi was suspicious of McNair being involved with someone else. McNair was also married and had children.

Leah Ignagni told police that McNair visited her around 4 a.m. on July 2, just a couple of hours after Kazemi's DUI arrest, and then the former Tennessee Titans star spent the night at Ignagni's apartment before leaving early July 3.

If this is to be believed, Steve McNair went to Leah Ignagni's house after he got Sahel Kazemi out of jail, which may have been the catalyst for her  murdering McNair then turning the gun on herself in the grisly murder-suicide.

Another theory was that McNair was about to break things off with Kazemi, who wanted to marry McNair, who was unwilling to end his marriage to wife Mechelle.

As for Leah Ignagni, she's still living in Nashville, just a footnote in a cautionary tale and one of the most tragic stories in a year full of them.

Former NFL star Steve McNair had a blood-alcohol level that was double Tennessee's legal limit for driving when his girlfriend shot him to death.

Tennessee Assistant Medical Examiner Feng Li said there was no way to tell from the report how long before McNair's death he had been drinking.

Police have said that McNair was likely asleep when he was shot twice in the head and twice in the chest. There were no signs of a fight or argument.

The 20-year-old Sahel Kazemi shot Steve McNair, who was married, July 4 in a Nashville condo before killing herself in a gruesome murder-suicide.

Both Kazemi and McNair were found dead July 4.

Police also said Monday that a toxicology report showed a trace amount of marijuana in the body of Kazemi, who was the football star's girlfriend.

Sahel Kazemi was arrested for drunken driving in Nashville two days before the shooting. Police video showed her telling officers that she was high.

The day after that, Kazemi purchased a gun - allegedly from Adrian J. Gilliam, Jr., who has been arrested in connection with McNair's murder.

It appears murdered NFL star Steve McNair left a mess behind, and not just because of his affair with Sahel Kazemi that was revealed upon his death.

A legal fight over the star's estate seems to be taking shape, as Steve McNair did not leave a will - at least according to his wife, Mechelle McNair.

Mechelle has been named administrator of his estate. She's named her two sons, Tyler and Trenton, as heirs. But here's where it gets weird.

McNair has two older sons from a prior relationship - Steven McNair, Jr. and Steven O'Brian Koran McNair. Mechelle did not list either as an heir.

Under Tennessee law, Mechelle McNair, as his wife, gets 1/3 of the estate and the remaining 2/3 is split evenly among the deceased's heirs.

Why Mechelle failed to mention the other two kids, no one knows.

There are reports she's not convinced Steve McNair fathered the two, even though one received $500 a month in child support from the quarterback.

Meanwhile, the late star's agent is being coy about the possibility a Steve McNair will really does exist after all. So we'll have to stay tuned there.

McNair was shot and killed early July by his lover, Sahel Kazemi, in a gruesome murder-suicide in Nashville. Mechelle did not know of the affair.

Friday, Adrian Gilliam Jr. was arrested in connection with the killings, having allegedly sold Kazemi the gun used to take McNair's life a day earlier.

An arrest has been made in the death of NFL star Steve McNair.

Nashville police have taken Adrian J. Gilliam Jr. into custody as the man allegedly responsible for selling Sahel Kazemi the gun she used to kill her lover and then herself.

Kazemi, McNair's mistress, reportedly purchased the weapon for $100 on July 2, two days before she took her own life in a horrific murder/suicide.

Prosecutors are expected to announce the charges against Gilliam later today.

The DUI represents one of the circumstances - including Sahel's belief that Steve had another lover - that cops believe led to the grisly killings.

Nashville, Tenn., police have released footage of the incident taken from a dashboard camera. Sahel Kazemi was pulled over for speeding on July 2.

Cops allowed Steve McNair and another man in the Escalade at the time to leave in a taxi. Steve showed up at the jail later on to post bail for Sahel.

The following day, Kazemi purchased a gun from a Nashville location.

Then, in the early morning hours of July 4, she killed McNair and then herself in a grotesque murder-suicide, the true motives of which are still unclear.

The 911 tape placed after Steve McNair and girlfriend Sahel Kazemi were discovered dead has just been released by the Metro Nashville Police Department.

The late NFL star's friend, Robert Gaddy, made the call and was hysterical as the dispatcher desperately tried to get information from him on what happened.

Wayne Neely, Steve McNair's roommate at the Nashville condo where he was found, initially discovered the bodies and notified Gaddy to make the 911 call.

Cops announced yesterday that they believe Sahel Kazemi murdered Steve and then killed herself in a grisly murder-suicide. The two were having an affair.

Steve McNair, 36, was married to Mechelle McNair (belw), and had been since 1997. It is not believed Mechelle knew about Sahel Kazemi, 20, or vice versa.

Mechelle McNair, wife of Steve McNair, must not only cope with her husband's murder and raising their four children alone, but with the revelation of his affair.

Police in Nashville, Tenn., say their investigation of former NFL star Steve McNair's murder "clearly points to a murder-suicide" at the hands of Sahel Kazemi.

Medical examiner Dr. Feng Li says preliminary test results conducted in the football player's death show his girlfriend fired the gun that killed both of them.

Feng conducted autopsies on the bodies of Steve McNair and Sahel Kazemi, and is able to make the determination from the crime scene investigation, police interviews, the autopsy findings and preliminary lab results, including a gun residue test.

Moreover, police have now revealed the following:

• Sahel Kazemi told friends her life was "all messed up" and she was "going to end it all" before the incident early July 4.
• Kazemi was stressed out - she had two car payments, her roommate was moving out and she recently began thinking McNair was seeing someone else (he was actually married, since 1997, to Mechelle McNair, and had four kids).
• The shell casings match the weapon purchased by her the same week of the shootings and there was trace evidence on her left hand.
• The lack of struggle, Steve's position on the couch and the trajectory of the bullet leads police to believe that McNair was "likely asleep" on the couch when he was shot four times (once at point blank range) and killed.

So neither McNair's wife, nor Sahel Kazemi, knew about the other? Could this astonishing fact have filled the lack of motive that police were struggling with?

Investigators are hesitant to conclude that Steve McNair’s girlfriend Sahel Kazemi killed the NFL star and herself because she didn’t appear to have a motive.

That said, a murder-suicide is still the most likely scenario.

After the couple was discovered shot to death on Saturday, police were quick to label Steve McNair’s death a homicide. He had been shot twice in the head and twice in the chest. Sahel Kazemi was dead from a single gunshot to the head.

Under her body was a gun the 20-year-old had purchased less than two days before the killings. Investigators were waiting on ballistics tests on the weapon before issuing a ruling on Kazemi’s death, which could come in the next few days.

Kazemi’s gun purchase, which was revealed earlier this week, is a strong indication that she was responsible for the deaths of McNair, 36, and herself.

Nevertheless, an apparent lack of motive by Sahel Kazemi has officials being careful about exploring every possibility, including the unlikely but plausible scenario that a third party could have killed them and staged the scene.

Their relationship lacked typical indicators of trouble, such as concerned family members and friends, police reports, restraining orders, etc.

Nashville Police investigating the shooting deaths of former NFL quarterback Steve McNair and his girlfriend Sahel Kazemi held a press conference last night in which officials described their investigation of events leading up to the killings.

The two were found dead on Saturday, July 4. Here is what police believe happened prior to that, along with the holes they are trying to fill:

• Sahel Kazemi was pulled over for DUI Thursday morning between 1-1:30 a.m. Steve McNair was a passenger but was allowed to leave the scene via taxi with another person. Kazemi admitted to being high at the time.
• Thursday night, Sahel Kazemi purchased a semi-automatic pistol. Police will not say who she got it from, but they think this gun killed McNair.
• Early Saturday morning, McNair met Kazemi at his Nashville condo.
• At 1:30 p.m. Saturday, a 911 call was made alerting police of the shootings. Police believe the bodies were actually discovered before 1 p.m., and are "concerned" about the time lapse they believe occurred.

Police have stated that Steve McNair was murdered. They are still waiting for ballistics tests and gunshot residue reports to classify Sahel Kazemi's death.

Steve McNair was married to wife Mechelle since 1997, and it is looking like his affair with the 20-year-old Kazemi was not revealed until their deaths.

Their home was listed for sale while he was having an affair, prompting rumors that he was getting a divorce, but he and his wife were just moving.

McNair's realtor said Steve and Mechelle listed their Nashville mansion and were looking to buy another place near a lake. No sign of marital problems or splitting up. The home was set to be sold for $2.9 million, and is still for sale.

Kazemi reportedly told friends that she loved and wanted to marry Steve.
