Well, this has to hurt. In all the wrong places.

For some reason, the following video depicts a large man gearing himself up to bench press... only to remove the bar from its stationary location... bounce it off his belly numerous times... and then finally finish off his lift and walk away proudly.

Note to Eric Spoto: Would you care to show this guy how it's actually done?

Who said the life of a sideline reporter was a safe and easy one?

Last month, Kelly Nash was nearly clocked in the head while taking a self-portrait in Fenway Park.

In October, Ian Rappaport of the NFL Network was hit squarely in the noggin while previewing a matchup between the Packers and Texas.

And on Saturday, Fox Sports Wisconsin's Sophia Minnaert was updating viewers on the impressive state of the Milwaukee defense... when an errant warmup throw knocked the mic out of her hands.

Watch her carry on like a boss in the following video:

On the field, Adrian Peterson leaves little room for debate: He's one of the best running backs in the history of the NFL.

But the All-Pro appeared last week on Sirius XM NFL Radio and stirred up some controversy with his thoughts on gay marriage.

"I’m not with it,” Peterson said. “I have relatives that are gay. I’m not biased towards them. I still treat them the same. I love them. But, again, I’m not with that. That’s not something I believe in. But to each his own.”

With Jason Collins have recently come out and Robbie Rogers having signed with the Los Angeles Galaxy, it's safe to assume many more athletes will soon be asked for their take on this issue.

It's been rumored that four gay NFL players will reveal their sexuality prior to the 2013-2014 season kicking off.

If that happens, Peterson and company will be answering questions about a lot more than just 4-3 defenses and zone blocking this fall.

The NFL Players Association has set its sights on Jay Z.

According to NFL.com, questions have arisen over the recruitment of New York Jets rookie quarterback Geno Smith, who dumped his agent soon after this year's draft and signed with Roc Nation Sports.

Under league rules, no one outside of a certified agent is permitted from meeting with prospective clients.

But Smith's adviser, John Thornton, has said Smith and Jay-Z "connected" during a recent visit, though he later claimed to have been misquoted. There's also this Instagram photo of the music star and Smith together:

The union will soon send a letter of inquiry to Roc Nation Sports agent Kim Miale to learn more about Jay-Z's involvement in courting Smith.

Robbie Rogers has signed a contract with the Los Angeles Galaxy of Major League Soccer, meaning he will soon become the first openly gay athlete to participate in an American team sport.

The former U.S. national team wing blogged in February that he was both homosexual and taking a break from the sport, writing at the time:

"Secrets can cause so much internal damage. People love to preach about honesty, how honesty is so plain and simple. Try explaining to your loved ones after 25 years you are gay."

Since that time, Jason Collins has come out as gay and Rogers has received support from his friends and family members, along with players in the MLS.

Third grader Maggie Ciara has a serious case of Stanley Cup fever, as evidenced by an answer the Chicago Blackhawks fan put on a recent math test.

The question: “What is 9 times 9?” The answer? Hossa.

Marian Hossa wears No. 81 for her favorite NHL team.

  • Nine X Nine

As you can see, her Oak Lawn, Ill., teacher was baffled.

What is this? The best part? After seeing that she didn't get it, Maggie clarified it for her teacher, Christine Mech ... who gave her full credit and an A+ overall.

NBA All-Star playmaker Steve Nash is making a play to block ex-wife Alejandra from moving from Arizona to L.A. so he can avoid paying child support.

Or so she claims in their contentious court battle.

Steve Nash, Ex-Wife

Alejandra wants to relocate from Phoenix to L.A. so the kids can be closer to their dad, who is putting on a full-court press (so to speak) to defend against that.

Nash even chose the L.A. Lakers over the N.Y. Knicks because it's closer to Arizona, but says he doesn't want them to move to L.A. at this moment.

A Buffalo Bills fan recently got a HUGE O.J. Simpson tattoo on his leg, which took nine hours to complete and is confirmed to be real ... and incredible.

O.J. Simpson Tattoo

Bryan Labarron actually appears to be fairly normal from the looks of his Facebook page, where he writes, "I have 3 Bills tats and my OJ is my favorite."

When asked the obvious murder question by a friend, he responded, "OJ was found not guilty of that murder thing but that's a story for another day ..."

Seems like a pretty relevant point on this or any other day in which a man gets a GIANT ASS OJ SIMPSON TATTOO, but maybe that's just us.
