Lots of pitchers battle control problems from time to time, but the Washington Nationals Henry Rodriguez took it to a new level, nearly hitting himself with his own wild pitch.

How is that possible, you ask? See animated GIF replay below!

Henry Rodriguez Wild Pitch

In his slight defense ... we have never seen anything like that.

The reliever only lasted a third of an inning and clearly was off his game, walking three batters and giving up a run in the Nats' 5-2 loss to the Reds Sunday.

When you nearly bean yourself, never a good sign.

"I didn't set out to be the first openly gay athlete playing in a major U.S. team sport. But since I am, I'm happy to start the conversation," he tells SI.

"I wish I wasn't the kid in the classroom raising his hand and saying, 'I'm different.' If I had my way, someone else would have already done this."

"Nobody has, which is why I'm raising my hand."

Claire Crawford has apparently become the second person from Houston to receive death threats for their actions against OKC, after Patrick Beverley.

The CBS Houston sports blogger is under fire for questioning whether Oklahoma City Thunder cheerleader Kelsey Williams "too chunky" for the role.

Crawford went after Williams last week, writing; "The Rockets looked terrible in Game 1, but some say they weren't the only bad-looking people on the court."

While she conceded Williams was a "pretty blonde," she wrote that Oklahoma City fans criticized her for "having 'pudginess' around her waistline."

He was a relative unknown prior to the first round of this year's NBA Playoffs.

But now Patrick Beverley is in the news for all the wrong reasons, at least if you ask Oklahoma City Thunder fans.

The Houston Rockets guard snuck in to try and steal the ball from Russell Westbrook in Game 2 of his team's series late last week... only to end up causing a season-ending knee injury to the elite point guard.

Beverly vs. RW

As a result, Beverley has received at least one major death threat.

Soon after the news of Westbrook's injury broke, Mitchell Brown, a ball boy for the Thunder, Tweeter: “Patrick Beverly (sic), I’m coming to kill you."

When Olympic gymnastics gold medalist Gabby Douglas said the first thing she did to celebrate was go to McDonald's, Michelle Obama died a little inside.

Now the athlete is teaming up with the fast food chain, but FLOTUS can take solace in the fact that she's promoting one of its new healthy recipes.

Or at least healthier.

McD’s and Gabby are pushing the Egg White Delight McMuffin, made with 100% egg whites, lean Canadian bacon, white cheddar and a whole grain muffin.

To celebrate, Douglas went undercover in Times Square to literally flip for the new product (see video above). What do you think? Would you try it?
