Atlanta Hawks owner Bruce Levenson admitted that he sent a racist e-mail in August 2012 and will sell his interest in the NBA franchise as a result.

Levenson reported the e-mail to the NBA in July, almost two years after it was sent but while the league was deep in litigation over the sale of the L.A. Clippers.

Levenson was a vocal critic of Donald Sterling, the Clippers owner who was recorded making very racist comments by V. Stiviano and banned for life by the league.

The e-mail, to Hawks President Danny Ferry, explains (in great detail) Levenson's belief that the Hawks' fan base was too heavily African-American.

"I wrote an e-mail two years ago that was inappropriate and offensive," Levenson said in a news release, having self-reported his own scandal.

"I trivialized our fans by making cliched assumptions ... by focusing on race, I also sent the unintentional, hurtful message that white fans are more valuable than our black fans."

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said in an NBA news release:

"Prior to the completion of the investigation, Mr. Levenson notified me last evening that he had decided to sell his controlling interest in the Atlanta Hawks."

"As Mr. Levenson acknowledged, the views he expressed are entirely unacceptable and are in stark contrast to the core principles of the National Basketball Association."

"He shared with me how truly remorseful he is for using those hurtful words and how apologetic he is to the entire NBA family for [diverting] attention away from our game."

This past weekend, THE Ohio State University lost by two touchdowns to Virginia Tech in football, but at least the Buckeyes' marching band was a big winner.

Known for their elaborate and incredible performances, the students lived up to expectations with a tribute to many TV favorites through the years.

See how many references you can spot in the following video ...

The band honored everything from The Simpsons and The Addams Family to Batman (remember when that was a show?) and the M*A*S*H series finale.

Blending music with visuals, their creativity is boundless.

They even got creative with I Dream of Jeannie (smoke included) and Dunder Mifflin was representing as well in a picture perfect The Office logo.

What really got the crowd going, though?

The Game of Thrones theme song.

Baltimore Ravens star running back Ray Rice is seen in a new surveillance video knocking out his now-wife Janay Palmer in an incident earlier this year.

Rice's vicious attack on his fiancee earned him a modest two-game suspension from the NFL, a controversial move that surely looks even more so now.

Watch the just-released video of the punch that the NFL player delivered that sent her to the ground, with the warning that this is not for the faint of heart:

The aftermath outside the elevator - Rice dragging the unconscious woman across the floor (below) - was first revealed after his arrest for domestic violence.

The attack took place February 15 at the Revel Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, N.J., with the pair in a heated argument on their way into the elevator.

Inside the elevator, Rice starts to get physical, she hits back, and he knocks her unconscious, off her feet and into an elevator hand rail, then to the ground.

When the door opens, Ray, seemingly unfazed, drags her out into the hotel, nudging her with his foot at one point to see if she'll come to (she doesn't) ...

Ariana Grande is way hotter than the purported Ariana Grande whose "leaked" naked photos are splashed all over Reddit and 4Chan last weekend.

She actually made this point on Twitter, calling out the alleged Ariana Grande nude photos as fake and saying that people ogling them need to find Jesus.

As a parting shot, she added that her lil ass is way cuter than whoever that chick is.

How undeniably true. Check out these new snaps she just posted on Instagram:

Ariana Grande Seahawks Jersey Photo

The 21-year-old sang the National Anthem at the NFL season opener last night in Seattle, and absolutely crushed her performance, to the surprise of no one.

Girl can sing, but has always been pretty reserved off the field/stage. Well, she's making a Grande (so to speak) splash on social media lately as well.

Rocking a bedazzled Seahawks jersey and jeans - no signature skirt and knee-high boots on this night - Ariana was killin' it in every respect Thursday.

Shantel Jackson, Floyd Mayweather's former fiancee, is suing the boxing champion for physically attacking and threatening her on several occasions.

According to Shantel Jackson, Floyd first got violent with her in 2012, not long after a domestic violence case involving another woman landed him in jail.

Jackson claims the couple were arguing when the fighter "twisted [her] arm, choked her and forcibly took her phone away from her to look through it."

She claims Mayweather got violent again in 2013 during a heated argument, bending her arm, restraining her, and POINTING A GUN at her foot.

Shantel claims he asked her "'Which toe do you want me to shoot?'" and demanded she remove her 17 carat diamond engagement ring at gunpoint.

Finally, Jackson alleges that Floyd got physical again this past February at his condo in L.A., grabbing her by the arm during another ugly dispute.

Gisele Bundchen is fighting back against the haters in an Under Armour ad which makes public criticism of her campaign for the company a focal point.

In the 60-second spot, the world's highest-paid model doesn’t utter a single word but instead throws kicks and punches at a heavy bag inside a warehouse.

All the while, social media comments about her, and specifically her endorsement deal with the brand, are projected on the walls, serving as motivation:

Among the shade thrown at Gisele on Twitter:

  • “Is modeling now a sport?”
  • “Under Armour. WTF?”
  • “Stick to modeling sweetheart.“
  • "Gisele is soooooo fake.”
  • “She’s old.”

The commercial is the latest in Under Armour’s “I Will What I Want” campaign, and it seems to thrive on the 34-year-old's surprisingly high number of detractors.

Ariana Grande performed the National Anthem last night at the NFL season opening contest between Seattle and Green Bay, and she crushed it. Crushed it.

The 21-year-old songbird hit the field rocking her signature ponytail, a bedazzled Russell Wilson Seahawks jersey (extremely cute look) and jeans. Jeans!

Skirts and body suits are synonymous with her live performances typically, but this is a football game. The laid-back version of Ariana totally works.

Speaking of laid back, boy does she make it look easy out there. Even when belting out those difficult high notes, Grande had the Anthem under control.

Her NFL rendition of "The Star Spangled Banner" caps off an memorable summer for Grande, whose latest album, My Everything, is #1 on the charts.

She scored a massive hit with "Problem" this summer and "Break Free" looks to be right behind it as she catapults herself and her career to new heights.

NFL stars past and present - from Michael Strahan to Clay Matthews to former Justin Bieber nemesis Keyshawn Johnson - took part in our favorite television segment last night.

Oh, yes, they read mean Tweets about themselves on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

And some of the mean Tweets were especially creative, such as this diss aimed at Strahan:

Michael Strahana’s teeth are having a middle school dance, where the boys stand on one side of the room and the girls on the other.

This Arizona football fan is just a terrible human being.

Don't get us wrong, we get that not everyone goes to the big game to goof off. Some fans are serious about their sports and don't need any stinkin' beach balls.

There's a difference between that attitude and physically grabbing and popping said beach ball, though, like this ass clown did last Friday evening:

How did this come about? It's fairly straightforward, sadly.

During the Wildcats' home opener against UNLV, the Grinch decided his peers were having too much fun, so he literally took matters into his own hands.

And with them, he popped every other Arizona fan's dreams.

Moreover, the Scourge of Civilization actually believed he had done a good deed here, applauding himself as he threw the ball's ransacked remains into the crowd.

Hopefully his tires get popped at the next home game.

Detroit Tigers star Justin Verlander briefly addressed the controversy surrounding the leaked, naked photos of himself and girlfriend Kate Upton on Wednesday.

Just don't expect the athlete to comment on it any further. Ever.

  • Justin Verlander in Action
  • Kate Upton Lingerie Photograph

Verlander, 31, and Upton, 22, were among the many stars victimized by a rogue hacker still on the lam. Naked photos of them surfaced online Sunday.

Will it shake the confidence of the Detroit Tigers pitching ace?

“Instead of everybody kind of sneaking around and getting questions at specific times, it’s just easier to say I’m not commenting on that," Verlander said.

"I’m trying to win a pennant," he added, not worrying about the possible phishing scam. “I’m not going to comment on my personal life. I never have and I never plan on it."

"I keep my personal life personal. The focus for me is on the Detroit Tigers. I don’t want to take focus away from this team and what we’re trying to accomplish.”
